- 3 weeks of lockdown means more time to practice...
So I've decided to work on some great practice pad exercises by Austin Burcham.
I've always hated playing on the practice pad but these patterns make it a bit more enjoyable for me.
There are some awesome exercises in here and I'm excited to see how the end result affects my playing! Enjoy!

Yooo thanks for the shoutout brother... Glad you’re diggin the workout! Stay safe out there in SA 👊🏼
Been practicing along with your video a lot since I came across it here. Thank you Brandon for showing this, and of course thank you Austin for creating such a great pad routine. Been following both you guys for some time and always great, fun and educational content. Respect
Pro tip: If you watch at 50% speed it becomes significantly easier to play along with the video. You can up the tempo from there once you have locked in the pattern.
Excelentes patrones... Siempre con muy buen material Brandon, y justo ahora que estaba buscando algunos ejercicios para practicar con el pad... Exito, y a poner manos a la obra
Best of the best !!! This is what I was looking for. thanks! you are the discovery of this year for me

Love the video, well done! Sounds challenging but you actually made it look easy. Impressed by the speed and smoothness you have acquired already. Stay safe my friend!
Thank you! Man you can really hear EVERYTHING on the pad. There’s no hiding flaws. On day 4 now and I have seen a noticeable difference in control and speed. Really digging it so far!
Good stuff

Yo I was just watching the video from Austin Burcham last week and now your making a video about it. 🤙🏼🔥
Some great stuff in here! Give it a try!
I’ve started today. Definitely am looking forward to practicing in the coming days and become better 👊🏼
Better than a stick in the eye!
Dude awesome work! You should try it with better pitches matched sticks so that you can really hear if there is any difference between your hands :) that’s a tip a drum line dude gave me that really helped me diagnose problems. Keep up the awesome vids!
"Do the math kids, dooo the math" make my day ;d
Dude I only realised now that you're from SA. Cape Town? Thanks for the content!
Brandon, love that you shared, your progress. I was feeling your pain with some of them too. Quick question. What is that app you use the tracks the beat and shows your sticking?
I'm practicing the same thing mate
Check out marching snare music if you want to really push your pad work. Anyone who's marched will crush those exercises. Especially that paraddidle one at the end, literally played something identical to that for years.
You can practice along with Austin's video in real time. It is a challenge. You will need to work on the patterns themselves for a while before attempting it. However, it is worth the effort.
I love you!
I love you too!
You have Yousician ad.. I try download it but Yousician don't have drum leasson???
Number 5 sounded like a killer for sure.
Where did you get these workouts from? TY in advance.
Hey brandon! Great Vid, im curious if you're based in SA or just visiting? Are you from South Africa?
By next week same routine but with double bass pedals
What practice pad is that? It has a nice snap to it.
Hellow there! What practice pad do you use in the video?
Hey brandon, have you ever tried marching band/drumline kind of stuff? I notice that you're playing on a xymox (very infamous among the marching community) and as I'm trying to get into drumcorps this is all similar to stuff you'd find in a basic audition packet. It'd be cool to see you try to learn even harder rudiment exercises
Hey man, no I didn’t do drum line. My dad took photos for that company Xymox and they gave him a free pad. Which he gave to me haha it’s great! Feels like a marching drum but I kind of want something with a little less rebound... those reflex pads seem legit. Might have to get me one of those!
I had 👌 idea you lived in South Africa
I see that xymox👀👀👀
Question, why is your right thumb not on the stick like your left thumb?
bro how can I get this tempo app on my laptop or phone
what are you doing here in SA and what part are you in?
There's an exercise I like to practise. I saw it on drumeo the other day, performed by Gavin Harrison on Drumset. But it's fun to play on an practise pad either.
You play a 16th note paraddiddle on the pad. Now the right foot goes on every 3rd 16th. When that works, you switch those pointed 8th notes between right foot and left foot. The last step would be, that the foot pattern goes RLRRLRLL. So you play a Paraddiddle with your hands, and against you play a paraddiddle with your foot in 3/16th.... Dude, I can't explain it any better... Hope you understand 🤔😅
czcams.com/video/XEWmzQ_fJmw/video.html Like that! 😉
Excuseme man :)
I don't understand if you did a lot of these exercises (from n. 3...) in single stroke or normally with didle (where is required)
What happened to the updated video?
What sticks?
Oh I, early?
Did I miss the 3 week follow up? Or is it a 3 year follow up now?
Nice men
Me llega
What is that practice pad?
What practice pad is that please?
🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
Xymox? OffworldPercussion?
@@warpigroadkill Zymox. They take a long time to get if you order one. Mine took 6 months.
My Offworld shippped in days from Amazon.
Ram Pad is another great choice.
I’m still waiting for my two pads from Xymox! Ordered August 2019 and Jen/Kev has not shipped or answered my 50 emails! Just want my pads!
First one...yep, I suck.
You din't see the movie whiplash
Jesus is returning to get the church! All this happening now, is a warm up before what will happen at the end. Repent of your sins. Choose the eternal Righteous instead of the sinful passions that does no good. Jesus died for you and gratefully, rose up on the third day. God bless : )
If this sucks I feel insulted
