- Worlds Fastest Proboat Sonicwake v1 or v2. The boat hit 80.1mph or (129kmh) this outing. I just had to try the Spektrum Firma 160 ESC in it just to see what it would do. I don't recommend doing this because you loose the self-righting capabilities. I only did it for this one test just to see how it would handle it. Big shout-out to Horizon Hobby and ProBoat for sending me this boat out to test. Big thanks to Chris Hoffmann (dasboata) for the Awesome prop. More to come! Thanks for watching!

Self-righting Hull Design

I used the spektrum firma 160 esc and a prop upgrade for this run. This is a one or two pass runs at most. Definitely not a bash setup. Self -righting abilities were lost with this upgrade so I don't recommend it. I was told I couldn't get this boat to 80mph no matter what I did and I guess you could say the Challenge was accepted. 😎
@@MrMad2424 lmao they must not know who you are💪🏾 80mph was probably a warm up. So the stock setup and the for prop upgrade would be a good bash setup it just keep it stock.

Awsome vid! But i have a problem with my Proboat Veles 29.Ive bought it a used, it was a very good deal, the hull seems to be brand new. But the flex shaft has a little bit of play at the strut end and when i give a little bit of trothle in the air it is kinda loud and vibrates to haviely in my opinion. Could you make a short video where you show the normal play of your flex shaft at the strut and the noise your boat makes when you give a little bit of throttle in the air?

That is normal for vibration when ran out of water. It's not good to run it out of water. will destroy your driveline. They are very noisy out of water also.

round 6 min. The boat won't self right with the 160 unless you add ballast to the hull to offset the added weight of the 160 over the 120
What up bro?... i just bought the sonicwake v1 two weeks ago and i bought all the necessary mods from offshore electric and rcboatbitz and even a dasboata prop that im waiting on and then i see that they came out with the V2...im a little bit pissed off about not knowing about this but anyways, what have you done to get it to 80mph?...i have the V1 but i have added the rcboatbitz kit and offshore drive shaft and im running 2 3s 50c 5000 smart...my temps are great...ive adjusted the trim fins and stinger up a little and it runs great...around 61mph...but i can still tune it...havent got the dasboata prop yet...im assuming that prop will have the best increase out of all the mods....what do you think?...and after seeing your videos especially after i just got the V1 before the V2 came out...im a little pissed about not being able to get the V2 so im on a mission to come after your speed record with my V1 if possible and i need your help if thats cool?
Prop is most always the best upgrade. keep in mind the dasboata prop is for speed passes only. You can make the V1 roll of you get the balance close on it. Good luck and take it easy on me.
@@MrMad2424 ....i just watched "ironclad rc" and he did a full "show and tell" about the V2 vs V1 and now i dont think i could get close to 80mph without upgrading the motor and esc...the V2's hull is redesigned and lighter and stronger...i could swap out the V1's motor and esc for the V2's but i would be better off just ordering a V2 and then going after your 80mph run...i am actually on the fence right now on ordering that 750$ish red and white gas powered boat from TFL or getting the Thrasher V3...i need a recovery boat and i also have a creek in front of my house so i kind of want the thrasher for recovery and go any ware boat but that gas powered boat from TFL is cool as well:)

No. The Motor is 1900kv and the prop is still in development.

Why do you loose the self righting by adding the 160 esc? Please tell, I just ordered one because the stock one wasn't turning on.and the 120 was backorder.
Because of the added weight of the 160 amp esc. The boat was designed to self right pretty quickly. That weight being on the opposite of the flood chamber throws it off a little. You could add weight to the flood chamber side and should be able to get it to right back pretty easily.

What’s the difference between the sonic wake 1 prop and the sonic 3 prop your using?
Sonic 3 is a custom 3 blade, sonic 2 is custom 2 blade. I've never heard of the sonic 1

Any prop i promote of his you can get the exact same one. Email him and ask him for the fastest sonicwake prop and you will get the exact same version i use. This one has more in it but i haven't had time to get it back out again.
I installed the firma 160 and as he lost the self righting until I added counter weight, the self righting is very much why I like the sonic wake.

I am glad reading this since I am looking to switch ESC and motor of an Impulse 32 inside it. Self righting is so nice and the Sonic rides better than the Impulse.
You didn't need to add or modify anything in the end ? Where do you put weights if mine doesn't flip back ?

ic5 and ec5 are basically the same except one has the smart wire. I have ec5's on my 120 and ic5's on my 160

Changed ESC out to the Speltrum Firma 160 amd the prop out. Contact Chris Hoffmann @ dasboata@aol.com for the prop. You will need a larger esc to get close to this speed though. This is a speed run setup and is only good for 1 or 2 passes only.

I didn't develop the boat. But If it is a 140 amp motor that doesn't matter as long as its propped down enough to pull under 120amps.

Seems like it took a lot to get past the V1. 7 MPH more doesn't seem worth it.
It's a good boat. Heavier of course with the larger motor and internal skeleton but much better handling over the V1.
