She has 100x the grace, and class than I would ever have. She carried herself with dignity and courageous-ness, even though she was completely in the right not to. As a mother myself, she’s taught me a great deal. RIP Mamie, and Emmett. Mamie, words can’t express how classy and courageous you were. I know Emmett was right there waiting for you when you joined him on the other side.

Every time I watch or read something about Emmett Till I think to myself if only I was born back then.. I surely would of have my life because they would of viewed me as a sympathizer. It’s disgusting how they can call themselves Christian’s and go to church every Sunday and after church their out there ending this young mans life brutally! Everyone involved is pathetic! And I whole heartedly believe that the woman should have went to jail too. They all should have been jailed. If I was on that jury I would of definitely not let them get acquitted. I’m so sick of ppl pretending that shut like this didn’t happen. That slavery didn’t happen. Yes it happened and in order for the world to move forward from it we need to acknowledge it, apologize for it (even though we weren’t alive back then but our ancestors were) they arnt here to apologize for wat they did so we need to. And we also have to change wats going on today to the African American community. This is the only way we can move past all this racism and hate. The black community shouldn’t have to just deal with it. They shouldn’t have to be afraid of getting pulled over. The white community were the ones in the wrong so it’s our responsibility to make it right. It’s our responsibility to take the first step towards change. Nothing will get accomplished if we don’t stand together and find common ground.

This young man died for nothing, because of the color of his skin. And that he was accused of looking at a white woman. Which he denied, but the woman went home and told her husband that this young man flirted with her, later Emmett was kidnapped by these group of white men. And was beaten, shot and thrown until a nearby river!!!😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢. Only 14 years old.

Every year, on his birthday, July 25th, I force myself to look at the pictures of Emmet in his coffin and at the morgue. It's REALLY difficult, and it never gets easier, but I never want to forget what they did. I think of him when people tell me they don't understand why I'm not speaking to 3 of my siblings right now for supporting white supremacist Donald Trump. I will NEVER pretend racism is ok. IT'S NOT OK.
