Wow these plastic surgeries went under the radar. This was a good one. I was shocked by how that first nose job is super subtle. It's crazy how many procedures a person can get without everyone realizing it. Plastic surgeons are soooo skilled.
I didn’t really notice especially because I haven’t seen her lately. I do see that she’s a lot lighter than when she was in 40 year old virgin so I’m sure there’s some skin bleaching going on.

As a darker brown black woman who loses my tan at the first sign of winter, this is most likely NOT seasonal or camera lighting-related. Be honest with yourselves about how skin lightening products have negatively affected our communities as darker people.

Not hydroquinone. This type of drastic change can only occur with IV gluthathione. She has that signature sickly pale look from using gluthathione
@@sarat8577 It is not true that only glutathione could produce the greyish sickly look, as ochronosis is exceedingly common in patients that use hydroquinone and most other bleaching agents. Additionally, hydroquinone is often referred to as "the work horse" as it relates to skin lightening since it, unfortunately, works much faster to diminish tyrosinase production in melanocytes.
There isn't much beating hydroquinone since glutathione likely works within the same or a similar mechanism, but has not been reported in studies to deliver the same efficacy or reliability as hydroquinone.
If you go to her instagram she's still darker complected, I honestly do think its lighting cause I haven't seen a change

Oh wow! I’m surprised! I would have never expected Lorry to do a video analysis on Mindy. Idk Mindy just came off to me as someone who wouldn’t have cosmetic procedures and I think most people don’t recognize a comedian by their appearance but I can definitely see now there are changes. Even if this video is just a speculation it’s definitely undeniable Mindy had cosmetic procedures. Mindy looked amazing before and after in my opinion! :)

I feel like Mindy’s cosmetic work is very natural in my opinion it’s so minimal that you can’t even tell if you didn’t have a photo comparison. All the cosmetic procedures really refined her appearance. :)
I think that Mindy has received a LOT of criticisms on her physical appearance. Between dealing with colorist comments for her darker skin tone, and dealing with comments about her weight, I can perfectly understand her making a few aesthetic modifications. One thing that struck me was her makeup was very different in the photos, which suggests that a lot of accusations about skin lightening have more to do with makeup and lighting than with actual products. I remember recently Serena Williams was accused of the same thing (after she had gotten a lifetime of hate on her darker skin appearance), only for it to be makeup.
I’m kinda heart broken because her face changes are going towards more of a euro-centric beauty standard. I have nothing against plastic surgery, but these changes aren’t something you associate with a person you’ll consider conventionally beautiful in India. Rounder face and bigger eyes are generally a hallmark of a transitional Indian beauty convention. I feel Mindy is trying to look more angular.
Yes. I disagree with Lorry when she said Mindy kept her Indian features. I can only assume Lorry is ignorant to Indian aesthetics or she's only looking at Mindy's coloring or just trying to be nice. It's disappointing that Mindy is making herself look European, but not surprising given the pressures of Hollywood. Think about what Mindy must be surrounded with for years in the business. She's smart, talented and funny, but the standard "pretty girls" still get all the attention and it does hurt. Add ageing in an industry that is already cruel to women and I'm sure Mindy felt insecure.

All the people in the comments talking about how they didn’t notice the changes must not have watched The Office or The Mindy Project. The changes were pretty drastic particularly during the Mindy Project. Her appearance changed drastically and noticeably between seasons.

honestly i was so distracted and concerned by her skin tone changing that i didn't notice all of the work over the years, even having watched the office so many times i've lost count
I stopped watching The Mindy Project when Mindy's smile started distracting me by looking like she was in pain. I have no problem with people having whatever surgery they want, but in this case her expressions made me feel uncomfortable and I couldn't focus on the show.

I do think her skin tone changes could be due at least in part to how much sun she got on a given year..the change from season one of the office to present though is jarring and I have a hard time believing it’s only that. I do think something else was done and agree with other commenters that much of the changes seem to be intended to westernize her appearance

I love the topic of presenting your ethnicity with getting plastic surgery. It’s often not even a second thought what kind of features a person is getting/will receive when going to get surgery.
100% agree. I told my doctor I didn’t want nostrils pulled in when I got my nose done. I was very adamant about not wanting wanting to Europeanize my face. I just wanted my hump gone.
As someone who’s had stuff done, biggest mistake girls make is they don’t think long term. A lot get too excited and think in the now.

Yeah, it can be hard to separate those two things. As a WOC it's difficult, for me it's mostly been about my skin tone (even though I am usually light brown)

As a Mindy fan, I have been so proud of her accomplishments and her being beautifully herself. Watching this video and her drastic transformation to look very Euro-centric and Kardashian-like is actually quite sad and an equally sad commentary on how these unrealistic beauty standards can ruin one's appreciation for their own natural beauty and heritage. Trying to replicate the Kardashian look is like trying to corral cats. It can't be done because it's always running from one place to another.
None of the ideal facial features today are found within the white race, sorry. Maybe light eyes, but even those aren’t exclusive to white people lol. The ideal today is tanned skin, light eyes, small nose and very full lips.

I think her work is VERY well done, she doesn't strike me as noticeably changed until you point the things out, so to me, THAT is the hallmark of great work.

Mindy was beautiful before all of her procedures. I hope that she’s happy with all of the changes that she’s made. I just don’t get why every person in Hollywood thinks it’s good to look like Kim Kardashian. I’m sure the pressures to fit in and conform are enormous. I feel like in 100 years they will be books written about this era where everyone wants to look like a Kardashian. Scary.
It is very sweet that people say that some people look good naturally. But lets not kid ourselves, she looks georgeous now. We dont have to be mean, but I don't believe in lying either. When I go to the doctor and they say I look great, Im like, cut the lies. We all know I look my age. You know, just stop the lies. Just don't say anything. We are not sure what they will actually look like since there is not evidence yet on how those fillers will hold up over that long of time. I would imagine they will look like a bunch of deflated ballons and have severe issues because of it. There will be an entire seniors genration that will be very silly to look at. I cannot wait to see it.

This one was really interesting. Mindy has done a great job pacing out her procedures because even though she looks very different, I have never perceived her face as looking that different and she has been known to me since she was on the Office.

I think she looks really beautiful. Btw in her books she always mentions how she wants to look like a “hot celeb”, so the plastic surgeries wouldn’t really be a big deal for her. I highly recommend reading her books (Why Not Me? & Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?) They’re absolutely hilarious and inspiring. I think anyone watching this channel would really enjoy her writing!
Yeah Mindy looks beautiful. I loved her on her shows and she always talked about celebs I always had a tought that she always wanted a bit more of a celebrity look. And seeing her latest picture it seems that she did get the look. She accomplished so much she should be proud of herself. Whatever she does I always hope it's her choice and that it makes Her happy.

Y’all we don’t have to be obtuse. Lorry is here to break down any surgery. Of course she sees her skin is lighter but she doesn’t want to go there and I don’t blame her. Not everyone has the academic vernacular to discuss things like skin bleaching. But Lorry definitely has the vernacular for cosmetic surgery. Lorry I love you and all the work you do ❤️ I can give y’all channel recs for people that do talk about race and changing ethnic features for western features.
The issue to me isn't about whether or not she talks about it, the issue is that the she purposely chose a thumbnail to emphasize the change in skin tone even though there were older photos to choose from if the goal was to show the before and after. The issue with doing that though is that it doesn't actually imply bleach or not as her skin tone doesn't seem to change there. It's just sketchy to say it's not her area so she won't really comment on it but then make that the focal point when you click on the video.

I would love to hear more about her skin Lightning but respect why Lori didn’t include it in her analysis. Skin bleaching is a common practice in India and the Caribbean islands. But it’s a shame cause Mindy was dark skinned representation in media & a comedic role model for me even tho we don’t share the same ethnicity. colorism is a international, interracial & intersectional issue… but Mindy is gorgeous inside and out either way 💜
Skin bleaching is done by celebrities more then common people. The skin tone of brown and black people change as climate change they appear less dark if they moved to cold climate places
Thank you for saying this! I was waiting for someone to bring up the colonialism aspect regarding her complexion changes. The ingrained self-hatred for your own skin color can run deep. I am medium-complected with a Caribbean background. Even though I am at peace with my skin tone, and have made no efforts to alter it besides the occasional hyperpigmentation mark; in my mind’s eye, I see myself as being darker skinned than I truly am to the eye. I will admit that from a young age I was being given tips to lighten.
I can’t imagine the pressure of conforming to Hollywood beauty standards, on top of having deep-seated notions of ethnocentric beauty specific to skin color. Mindy was beautiful at every stage of her career. I hope she strives to break the cycle of learned prejudice for the next generation.
Skin bleaching is common? I am an Indian, none of my family or friends have done skin bleaching to lighten our skin. Sunscreen is getting popular in India only in the recent years, that too among the younger crowd. It would have been disastrous to go under the blazing tropical sun with bleached skin. That said, there is colorism. Ther are fairness creams, which I don't think really work. I have known people who use them who remained the same color post usage. I am not denying there is skin bleaching, but most ordinary people going about their daily lives don't normally resort to it.

But wouldn’t you agree that lightskin is idealized in most mass media & entertainment in Bollywood/Hollywood? that has a influence on young minds and pressures celebrities like Mindy to conform to that standard. In 2020 women of color spent more than $8 billion on bleaching creams worldwide. It doesn’t seem to be dependent on the region since $2.3 billion of the $8 Billion was spent in the U.S. alone. I guess when I say common, I mean it’s commonly accepted & practiced by certain non-white cultures.
And from what I can tell the skin lightening/bleaching creams are very effective. You can look up results here on youtube and see white-passing women who previously had deeply melanated dark skin. it’s quite shocking… Michael Jackson is another example or Lil Kim.
@@aiswaryabersan7983 do you think that’s the case with Mindy? I can’t remember if she lives in a colder climate like New York or if she’s in LA where its hot & sunny. I agree on the celebrity part. Skin tone also changes in certain lighting so some of fluctuation might be that. And we know Hollywood just learned how to properly highlight darker skintones on camera within the last decade.

Thank you! I have seen her change so drastically over the last few years.. It was shocking! Although when she posts unfiltered pictures on Insta without makeup she looks like herself.
I also notice she wears either wigs or hair extensions. Without it, her hair is thin and has a frizzy appearance.
Im all for her to live her life but i would be lying if i didnt say im abit sad. Mindy was definitely one of the desi celec i looked up to so much. Kinda bummed
Lorry did seem to hint her skin colour change but I understand she feels she can't talk about that but wow it's very apparent and sad given she's always been big on representation in the industry.
It's a big can of worms. Lorry would take a lot of heat for having a discussion on India, colorism, the caste system and the class system. It's very messy. Skin lightening is a big deal in India and considered normal thing in many parts of Asia as part of their beauty routine.

I think all is on point. I do think her chin implant looks poorly from the side; it is too extreme for her delicate face.

I agree! Whoever did her makeup back in the days did her dirty but her makeup artist now is doing a phenomenal job. I think she just enhanced the features of her face that she felt was lacking. I’d certainly do the same if I had the money to.

I really enjoy mindy’s work. She’s incredibly talented and anytime I see she’s involved In A project I make it a point to watch because I know it’s gonna be good. I think the changes she’s made have moved her from looking forever cute and youthful to grown and sexy. She looks fantastic and I’m sure her outer appearance probably now better matches how she feels on the inside. Best part of this is that the changes were significant yet she still looks like herself.

Wow. Like wow. As you're totalling everything up, it just kept going. When I started the video, I thought, definitely rhinoplasty, maybe filler through the cheeks and botox on the forehead. The implants and facelifts were a bit of a shock. But I hope she is happy. The whole video, I kept thinking of what her experience must've been like growing up, and what it was like finding her footing in the entertainment industry as an Indian-American. Idk, for me, I just wonder where being happy with the way you look might overlap with hearing about all these American beauty standards that you don't fit into. She looks like she's kept her ethnicity visible, but now she looks more like beauty pageant contestants or Bollywood actresses, and they, too, have had plastic surgery. Idk, I kinda feel like the pursuit of perfection took her relatability away. It's possible her experience in the industry changed once she started changing her appearance, so it's possible there's motivation there, too. I'm genuinely curious if she's open about these things or if she, too, is lumped in with other celebrities who say they've just lost weight or changed their hair. But I do wonder what their small children see when they see their parent's face changing as their brains are developing (not just Mindy, I'm also thinking of the Kardashians).

As a dark-skinned Southeast Asian, even though she is born in America, colorism and featurism are major problems not just in Black people. Also, if a woman especially an actress, is not thin, they face a lot of discrimination. Look at the Bollywood actresses; they are very light-skinned with very straight noses and a specific look.

It is funny, just finished watching the last episode of the mindy project, and was noticing how she started as a dark sverage looking indian, and towards the end was looking 3 or 4 shades lighter, with plumped lips and cheeks, and with what it seems permanent makeup, then you post this 😀 😄
I think she looks stunning. I would never touch my face - body - yes, not my face - if I did any work, I'd want her surgeons. Surgeons of that calibre. There's also huge pressure for darker skinned ladies to look more European, so I don't even blame her for lightening her skin. But I would NEVER. Thank you, Lorry. Amazing analysis, as usual.
