'appletviewer' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. People who getting this error is because applet is no longer available after Java 10.
Applets are depreciated/ removed from jdk 11 and above versions, you have to install jdk 8 to use run appletviewer also chrome and other browser have ended the support for applet too.

since java version 9 *_import java.applet.Applet_* command is removed
write this --> *_import java.applet._** and your code will run fine
compile the java program first,
using 'javac'
