The Moon Maiden of the Mayfair | RISK x MEAR ONE (Downtown Los Angeles)

Painting with my brother RISK has been a long time coming; our last collaboration was in Miami during Art Basel 2012. Whenever I get together with him we go big and hit it heavy. Growing up in Hollywood in the mid-1980s I became fascinated with Risky's freeway burners. He would treat the illegal spot like fine art and take his time killing it. Dope ass letters, 3D's with flare, sick fill ins with highlights and shines, then to top it all off a beautifully designed background to make his burner pop! He represented the top level of achievement and is basically my favorite graffiti artist of all time. I was eventually introduced to him in 1990 by my brother SK8ONE and became a member of WCA (West Coast Artists) crew. It’s a huge joy to look back and realize where we came from and how we still exist in collaboration and joy, thank you my brother for helping maintain our culture and friendship. PEACE, MEAR
