It is alarming how quickly the van has to stop at zebra crossing at 0:45 😮. Drivers need to be slowing down and pay more attention.
Good reflexes though
It sounded like whatever was in the back of that van went for a burton when the driver hit the brakes.
Yeah but WhatsApp is so important as well you know
I've had so many run ins with White van drivers over the years lol.I even had a set to in a carpark over lockdown in a Carpark miles away from where I was supposed to be.(Naughty boy) That's why I couldn't call the police .Lol
In my opinion it sounded like the ABS had to kick in...
The two doctors is still the best one by far . I loved it
Absolutely 💯% for sure..🤣
And then there was recently the wrong way driver claiming to be on their way "to see a doctor". I believe it turned out to be nothing more than a routine physio visit!
do you think the two Doctors would be up for a Christmas Special?
That was pretty funny that one. I have no idea what that guy in the taxi said, all I heard was “remember what you do on the bike, yeah”. My favourite was with GV68 KFX aka the merc a-class driver who got owned by the metropolitan police
@@benfawcett2692 lmao 🤣
I seriously wonder how some people get home every day without an accident. Keep doing what you're doing Mikey. Love the content.
Because better motorists / motorcyclists / cyclists / pedestrians make allowances for them.
There is a significant fraction of the driving population who are simply getting lucky continually, and assuming that their lack of accidents are proof of their driving ability.
Indeed, I also wonder how they remember which one they are when they wake up in the morning, or where they live when they leave the house.
It amazes me as to why so many motorists think this behavior is in any way acceptable.
Keep up the Good Work!
The guy who kept driving into Mikey forcing him onto the bonnet was running late for a physio appointment! Yet not even prosecuted!! It makes me distrust my country and the law. I want to avoid living in London as much as possible! Only for short stints if they paid me very well.
Chief keef - I don’t like
Unlikely they do but as the UK and its roads becomes seriously over populated, people throw in the towel. You see this is in very well educated peoples such as South Korea, where the roads were re-built after the Korean war with no forward thinking at all or belief most Koreans would own cars.
There car drivers will gently nudge you out of the way on the pavement if they feel you are taking a space they can use! Red lights are ignored after midnight. Drivers would get angry if you didn't do as in this video The road manners are completely at opposites as to how Koreans are face-to-face.
But it is true, if you don't break the laws there, you go nowhere. The UK is fast approaching that way of driving.
The UK is a very corrupt country I urge all you that have your own escooter to ride it and I urge all you who have big ebikes to ride them (responsibly of course) . Drivers can break the law with impunity and they get away with killing cyclists and pedestrians and get lenient sentences .
He lied and was just trying to be a...prat loser 😉
This video in the morning is just as delightful as a warm cup of a coffee
Watch while drinking warm coffee - perfection.
Yes I was thinking the same thing.
Did you buy mikey a coffee?
If the police don’t want “concerned citizens” reporting crimes, they should discourage the crimes by increasing the penalties. Not ignore the reports 😂
It's so very clear the fines need to be much bigger. Especially in London where there is more wealth and more impatient people.
The police don't set the penalties.
Whilst I personally would like to see fines increased as well, it is not large punishments that deter people. Instead it is the thought of getting caught that stops people transgressing.
Except in 90% of cases police don't decide the punishment... that's what the court is for.
I love these videos.
What makes me most angry watching these videos is not the person driving like a fool. But the stupid members of public that stick up for the people who are putting them in danger 😂. “Maybe they’re late for school” ok well maybe they should get up earlier lol.
Agree, driving the wrong side of a keep left risks someone being permanently late for school.
I suspect they are biased. They are probably people who drive and don't like the idea that other drivers are punished for things they themselves, might be tempted to do.
Better to be a few moments late in this life than several years early in the next!
@@125brat .
I often take the bus to the next town to go to the market there. A couple of times the road has been closed because of a fatal accident. The last time was a young woman who was late for her dental appointment. Several years indeed.
@@grahvis that’s very true. Probably the case.
Tarquin will be late for school now Mikey!
Extremely poor and late observation by the white self hire van at around 0:45 approaching the pedestrian crossing. Mind you, as a pedestrian I'd be somewhat more cautious in that kind of situation and first check the other half having crossed between cars on the first half.
People are so impatient these days and do such pointless maneuvers. Funny thing is as you catch them the car behind them ends up getting in front of them which shows they could of waited just a few seconds in the correct place.Nice work again catching these people.
It's usually in the big cities like London.
You're correct, Zain. They should have just waited that little bit. Well done, Mikey! 🚴 🇿🇼 🇬🇧
@@andrewnorris5415 I live in London and my pet hate is people using the wrong lane then making that last second decision to indicate or cut in your lane as they are to lazy to wait a few seconds. Can be dangerous in some cases.
@@stuartburgess2626 it's true but sadly people can't wait and think they are saving significant time. Recently I reported a driver who was driving behind me. Approached a traffic light and went in the left lane to go straight though was held up by a few cars in traffic. This guy goes in the right turn only lane, overtaking 2 cars then cutting in. Police updated me saying they are taking action on them.
0:45 always scary to see a van approaching a pedestrian crossing that way...
Strange that there's traffic cameras everywhere, but they don't use them at junctions like this.
"Traffic cameras" are mostly council run, or TfL... TfL have no authority to prosecute for dangerous/careless driving or contravening a keep left bollard, that's for the police and the CPS to prosecute.
Unless you mean speed enforcement cameras that are operated by the local force or a safety partnership? They'd be no good in a situation like this as they'd not trigger unless someone sped past them - unlikely in this scenario.
the fact theyre letting drivers get away with driving on the wrong side of the road at a junction but willing to book a motorcycle for doing the same thing is a bit alarming. amount of bad drivers ive seen recently, im not surprised theres so many.
I think a better nickname for this location would be "Gandalf Crossroads"
It amazes me how many drivers use the motorists riddle (like the insomniacs riddle about whether falling trees with no-one around make a noise)...
"If I break the law, but there isn't a police officer to catch me doing it... is it really a 'crime'?"
Yes... yes it is!
Totally agree. That's why they get so salty when they spot you filming them. Like "it's not fair, you're not a policeman". No, I'm not a policeman, just someone you're likely to kill due to being distracted by your blooming phone!!!
Your mission is righteous. Don't let anyone tell you different.
What shocking selfishness and dangerous driving becomes easy to those who are that selfish.
Great work Mikey, thanks from all of us.
Good going, Mikey. I loved the effort on the moped, the van that wouldn't let the mini in and the reaction of the pedestrian. People on the street recognize your value, thank you. All the best regards to you 🙏
I would argue that you are an activist, but in the best possible way. You're helping keep people safe, like you saw many times, wrong way drivers often nearly take other people out.
I'm not campaigning like an activist would, I'm just dealing with specific incidents of road danger. I'd suggest that's more of a citizen duty.
Yes. But it is still activism
Activists vary in their usefulness and harm or good done. Those stopping traffic to create long tailbacks are creating dangerous situations on the road. Ambulances get held up. But also - it creates a lot of late and thus even more impatient drivers who will take chances to save seconds putting lives at risk. The driver should not do that - but they do.
@@CyclingMikey you are getting involved and making a positive difference - I would say that’s the best kind of activism!
If only the online portals the MET provide could be rolled out nationwide…
Whatever you call it, you are a doing a great job Mikey - keep it up please
Another great video Mikey! I'm in London on 12th November for a gig and I'll be taking a trip to Gandolf corner, whilst I don't think I have the balls to stop anyone, I'd like to think I might catch someone and be able to report them!
Thanks mikey for sharing
Keep safe ❤
Got to admire you Mikey after the run in with the Range Rover Velar . You are a good man . Thank you .
I love watching your videos 😊💜
I'm no saint when I'm driving, but I've never even considered driving the wrong side of a keep left sign. What's wrong with them?? Anyway, keep up the good work!!
That white vans brakes are superb. He’s going to need them driving like that.
Keep up the good work Mikey.
I love that classic blue bike of yours even the brown leather seat makes it lovely
Loving the new location. Keep stacking em up Mikey.
It’s like bonus content when they try to reverse 😂
I don't get it, they buy giant trucks then can't even reverse, in a straight line, for about ten metres. It's astounding.
Well that was an interesting variation Mikey. And I now recognize that corner from the different camera facing perspective. Wasn't that where a woman tried the wrong way thing there some time ago and minutes later her husband came walking back from one of the properties along there to speak to you?
Yup, same location. :)
@@CyclingMikey The different parts of this location are now all beginning to fit in my mind like pieces of a jig saw.
I, too, used to think these were two separate junctions.
Youve been doing this for years at this location and still they don't learn. They get everything they deserve. Keep up the good work.
" maybe she doesn't know what's coming next" ,you should get a tee shirt printed with a quote like that, change " she doesn't " to "they don't "....your blue bike stands out like the fin in Jaws
Mikey Merch. Great idea
I thought that was The Doctors again for a second....
Seeing these videos Mikey makes showing urban life in London makes me appreciate how privileged I have been to have lived in countryside villages for most of my 80 years. We only have tractors and speeding motor bikers to contend with. We sometimes experience the former on our Derbyshire country lane cycle rides. The latter tend to attempt time trials to the motorbike naverna at Matlock mistakenly thinking that they are in a TT race on the Isle of Man.
Keep up the good work, Mikey
Yay!! Finally we got some more angry chimps on the wrong side of the road!! Keep up the great work Mikey!!
At least the van driver stopped at the Zebra crossing although not claiming it was ok to not pay attention and then slam on the brakes. My experience is most drivers just keep going when you wait at a Zebra crossing. Same with these new highway code rules for pedestrians crossing at junctions I can count on one hand the number of drivers who have given way to me.
At 1:40 that's certainly a new variation on Gandalf Corner with the black cab approaching on the wrong side of the side street to turn left. I can't ever recall seeing that in any of your past Gandalf Corner videos, though we have seen the old "two wheels up on the pavement" trick to get past waiting right turners. Incidentally what action, if any, was taken against the cabbie?
Well done again Mikey! We're with you.
Every town and city should have a Cycling Mikey 🤘✌️
Thanks for your service towards correct driving ❤
Interesting that some people risk driving on the opposite side of the road approaching a corner. I remember my first time visiting London in the late 1970's, and traffic was congested then too, but I never stood around to watch the shenanigans like you're able to capture for your channel. Leave early, arrive safely. LOL
Nice work Mikey! I know that road well. Lots of people using phones at that location. I think MPS know that postcode quite well......
We are in awe of you Mikey. Stay lucky
I am so happy that im a retired old lunatic, I never liked driving into London. Don't go into this box, don't go down that road, don't park anywhere, sit in traffic until you decompose or someone wants to fight you, and that's before you even started work and then you have to do it the next day and the day after that. no wonder I ended up a lunatic. I just dance around my allotment stark naked now singing I'm a little teapot but at least I'm a happy lunatic.
It's frustrating when no action is taken but I think it's partially due to the number of submissions each year increasing. I get the feeling the number of people at MPS going through them hasn't changed (I certainly haven't seen any new names recently in the responses). I submitted on NYE 2021- it was submission 18661 for the year for the Met. My most recent submission (19th Oct) was 21706 (estimated end of year 27k). NIPs have to go out within 14 days. That's quite an ask if the team hasn't increased but you've got almost 50% extra submissions (actually 44% predicted). The MPS need more team members in the traffic incident submissions team. It's certainly somewhat frustrating when there's a submission of someone clearly on a hand-held phone call while driving (IE more impaired than a drunk or stoned driver) and there's no action taken. Almost makes me want to put those ones on YT....
Yeah I've noticed when I started reporting bad drivers again it's taken at least a week for them to let me know when they take action on it. Normally before it would take 2-3 days
If they double the fines - that would mean they could pay the clerical staff a good wage - which would mean they would have no trouble finding them. Then they would not need to ignore cases that could obviously be prosecuted.
That actually is, imho, a very fair assumption.
I would have thought that the MPs and councils would have liked the extra fines and income :P
@@zaink7037dp you i mean to say if there were more protests drug offences would be overlooked 😁
Fully support your actions.

Good to see you again. Amazing job you do
ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST LOL. WELL DONE MIKEY.
Awesome video
Nice of you to catch a few more.
keep up the good work mikey
Would love to see you try this sort of behaviour in Scotland.
Good work Mikey.
WELL DONE it's nice to know they are being given fines and points for ignoring the law HA HA HA HA HA I myself send the police video recordings of incidents just like that keep on doing it WELL DONE
I love watching people try and reverse.
Good to see you now doing Motorbikes Mikey. It always seemed a bit biased to me why you only did 4 wheeled vehicles.
When you look at the sheer level of motor traffic, and people willing to risk points on license and injuring or killing people by breaking the law, you have to ask what it'll take to get people out of cars? It would be quicker to walk.
Certainly quicker to cycle.
Shear and utter laziness my friend. That and a lot of people in this country see walking, cycling or taking public transport as something a 'peasant' would do.
@@thecraigmachine69 Which is ironic because a lot of rich and famous people, especially in london, take the tube and walk all the time. Seen many in just my one year of being in London back in 2018
Could you give us a bike tour one day? Just an overview of every bike you have and which you ride the most often. Thanks!
Full time job this is Mikey!!! Stay safe
I can sense a new series, Mikey travelling around to subscriber recommended locations. You never know where he will pop up next!
My fave mikey vids are the ones at Gnadalf corner
Love your work keeping people safe by stopping these drivers.
If they aren't going to prosecute 'ignoring a keep left sign' they might as well remove them and let the carnage ensue. 🙁
What happened to the taxi and also what made you cross the road to get the blue mini. How did you know it was going to happen?
I do like it when you get thanks from the law abiding motorists. Take care and stay safe.
Nothing beats Mikey and Gandalf Corner.
The man needs a statue...
As the police have said they are issuing NIPs don't they also usually say to keep footage off social media untill the case is closed?
Keep up the good work.
What’s an NIP?
From the description, this video got recorded at 14. June 2021. So my guess: they are all closed bow.

Nice work, Mikey. 👍
Disappointed in the MPS. But at least you're highlighting these motorists' behaviour for future reference. If (when) they're later involved in a collision whilst pulling the same stunt, it'll make the prosecution's job a whole lot easier.
It would not be admissible as evidence as it would not relate the particular offense being prosecuted.
@@ditch3827 it would be admissible for sentencing though.
@@mintywebb Not really, sentencing is based on previous convictions, and the facts of the offence. In this case a magistrate is extremely limited in terms of sentencing powers. Most people don't know that magistrates are actually volunteers, and are not paid, a lot of them are school teachers and do the role in their time off. They are given legal advice when they hear cases however. They cannot sentence anyone to prison for more than 12 months (6 months per offence maximum, maximum of 12 months no matter how many offences), they also cannot give a fine exceeding I believe level 3 on the scale which I think is around £5,000.
On another note - it's worth noting that, contrary to what most people believe, you can actually go on trial in the magistrates court , the only real difference between that and Crown court is that there is no jury. (many people think trials only take place at Crown Court).
Traffic is so bad. London, don't miss it.
Why on earth haven't the council put in a no stop zone (yellow X) in the junction, the blocking of the junction from disrespectful driver seems to cause the most issues here...
it astounds me the level of peoples driving
Thanks 🙏 our Brave Heart ❤️

Is that a brooks flyer saddle you've got on there? NIce.
Did the late braking van driver at the zebra crossing do anything illegal - that looked pretty damn dangerous!?
liking the new spot, Mikey, lots going on there!
No, they stopped to let the pedestrian cross, nothing illegal about harsh braking…
I think crossing a very, very busy crossing at maximum speed can be qualified as reckless driving.
Yup - It fell below the standard expected of a competent and careful driver and hence was a section 3ZA(2) offense of the RTA 1988.
Mikey's bicycle standing there in full view is the equivalent of the " speed cameras operate in this area" signs. Of course not everybody has seen Mikey's videos, there are still a few who haven't, apparently.
It's all quite depressing how as a society we have succumbed to laziness and marketing to feel the need to drive every journey. Such a lovely morning in London with the sun shining, but ruined by the smell and noise of car traffic. It would be interesting to step back 120 odd years ago to witness how much quieter the world must have been back then.
Touché. I love cars but do not understand the average persons desire to drive a car everytime they leave the house. Small journeys that can be walked or cycled are mostly driven in the modern era. The same people that do this are the same people that are overweight and whine that their clothes don't fit or the same people that spend £50 a month driving to a gym! I have seen a mother drive her children less than a couple of hundred metres to school. Such people are encouraging laziness and obesity in their offspring but will profess to love them.
"Where do you want him to go you dorris" 😂 Mikey 👌🏻
Thanks CM
So you can drive on either side of the road now in London?
What road is that so I know to look out 😂
My ‘Mikey’ moment was at Southport where I captured a bloke returning to his motorbike, which was parked on the zigzags of a crossing. After staggering about he got on it and rode immediately through a red light…all captured. Took me 30 mins to fill in the forms, shorten the footage, secure the SD card……………no reply from Merseyside Police.
Looks like none of them drivers or the rider had a coffee yet either, wonder if the white van hurtling towards the crossing was looking at you Mikey, lucky he stopped in time and was not carrying a load of fresh eggs.
Mikey, if you see a taxi going the wrong side of the islands do you also report them to TfL. I hope you do.
Mike! Hold em good. Still love your page year later.
Met should give you a ticket book at this point XD
Keep up the good job a(pond be safe
Nearly caught an rta with that transit flying to the crossing
Not sure what Insulate Britain has got to do with poor driving, but since the Met are permanently in special measures nothing about them can surprise me any more
people blocking roads and drivers going on the side of the road to get round them i'm guessing
Sketchy moment on the crossing there
Did you report the taxi?
Why did you not use the ZEBRA CROSSING which was about 5 metres away from you to cross safely ?
Just as ignorant as the drivers.
So Mikey, are you saying despite firm evidence, the met are failing to prosecute illegal drivers?
There are a few issues here. First is a massive backlog of court cases, second is the massive increase in submissions year on year (nothing to do with me, honest), thirdly the MPS have to get the NIP to the driver within 14 days (unless lease car) and the postal strikes makes proving this happened tricky, fourthly some offences are dependent on interpretation e.g. "driving without due care and attention" is subjective, being on the blower isn't. IE driving without due care more likely to be not actioned. Even then I've had a number of submissions time expire (IE no action taken) including ones in which the person was absolutely 100% driving round the corner right in front of me on the phone with the phone screen clearly on speaker and the driver talking. MPS just have too many submissions and not enough team members. A bit frustrating really.
@@JustSomeVideos0 Then they need to 1) put the fines up so they can hire more staff to handle the backlog and increased cases. 2) Increase the limit to over 14 days, especially when there are postal strikes. It's crazy that a strike should influence the outcome of British justice.
@@JustSomeVideos0, to be clear, the NIP/NoIP must be sent within 14 days of the alleged offence, receipt is assumed.
Also, RM weren’t striking back then.
