  • Everyone knows what stuttering is. Cluttering, on the other hand, is still unknown to many. Yet it is estimated to be as common as stuttering. The problem is that cluttering is often not recognized as a stand-alone disorder, but seen as stuttering or "talking in a too fast or messy way".
Cluttering has many characteristics such as: speaking fast and/or irregular (spurts), stumbling over words, collapsing syllables, many "uhms", repetitions, slurred speech, many filler words, few pauses, and so on. With the right treatment and diagnosis, many people who clutter can learn to gain more control over their speech. That's why it is so important to inform the general public about this.intriguing speech-language disorder. If you feel the same about this, spread the word about cluttering and share this beautiful animation!

A parent who blatantly ignored their child and a child who thought the solution was to speak as quickly as possible before being ignored was a perfect storm 💀

Hello! I’m happy to find your videos! Do you have any videos that feature the abnormal pauses or abnormal stop-for-breath moments?

Hi Mary Tom, good to hear, there is no video (yet) about abnormal pausing, but there is one that explains all characteristics of cluttering: czcams.com/video/raK6RsdyNho/video.html. Also you may find more info in other vids, for example those with clinicians or researchers

Thanks for your reaction. Could be sometimes, but definitely not always. It is dependent on many factors and for each person it is different.
