Oh man, I wish you'd been asked to do Riff Raff Official Video. A much better example of a first song at an AC/DC concert with Bon. Love that song too. Amazing live (the official video is a live performance).
No not in Holland... It is the Netherlands! Holland are just two Dutch provinces.
What I always like with earlier live performances from bands, without the pyro, cryo, lasers, elaborate light shows, large video screens etc, is that it sorts out the wheat from the chaff. Some bands have that certain something that comes across to the audience and the audience feeds the energy back.
As you have alluded to, they performed as expected. Bon Scott certainly had the stage presence that for me, Brian Johnson, has never really matched.
This was a performance for a TV show called Countdown on Veronica (radio & tv channel host). The guy speaks Dutch and is asking the crowd if they want Rock & Roll (he says it really weird with bad accent) then he goes on in Dutch and says that the hottest R&R at the moment comes from Australia. Before announcing AC/DC. I think they probably played only this song, it's not a real concert. I agree on the score. Funny to see this realizing it is over 40 yrs old. 🖤🤘🏼
Well... it was 'just' a TV-Show (that's why the vest got off so soon) and the song was brandnew - the audience today would sing along from start to finish and infuse their energy into the performance. The band also didn't have the experience and the routine they now have 44 years later 😉 and they didn't have the modern technology. Your score was pretty much what I expected 😂 82 par 🤣
Keep on rocking David!
🤘😎
All their songs sound pretty much the same, and you know what i love it, they got the perfect formula, every album they dropped gives me the same great feeling i want from rock n roll music.
Great concert in my hometown Arnhem in their best times.
I agree this is pretty straight on - a par score. Good way to put it.
I would highly recommend the half-hour BBC 'Rock Goes to College' from 1978, when they were making huge waves but hadn't made the big time yet. I saw that on TV in England at the time, and thought, 'what the hell is this???' That performance was more mind-blowing than this, had more energy somehow. And AC/DC, especially in those days, had NO gimmicks on stage. I don't even think Angus has EVER used effects on stage. BUT I am not sure there would be anything you haven't seen before.
Bon Scott, bless him had so much more charisma than Brian (Brian did a great job of course). And his lyrics were just funnier, more clever. I loved BIB, but after that there were just the odd songs on the odd albums that were killer.
Nice to see Angus! 🎸
You want a legendary score for an AC/DC live show do For Those About to Rock the 21 gun salute is incredible. I completely agree with this score
you said u never heard bon scott sing this?? Im the opposite. I dont believe ive heard Brian sing this. If you ever heard this song on the radio, which theres absolutely no way in hell you could have dodged it if you tried given your age, 99.99% it was bon and not brian.
I Love this song it's a CLASSIC SONG!
I could so see you playing cliff Williams , keep up the great reviews ,
Haha. Reminds me of a carpentry joke about some people misjudging length. You can tell us 82 is par if you want to... (but between us, it is usually 72). :D Oh no! and the Reds are the ladies tees (Whites - Sr, Green - Mens, Black/Gold - Tips/Pro). LOL It's all good. Pretty typical of band stage performance style in the 70s in my experience. Thanks for the show. 🤘
Thunderstruck says Hello 👋
Very good Australia band
Good
Oops. legendary song and you are right. it's always, without exception, on the cover list. this is one of the few songs my dad thought was good. dad is an Elvis-Beatles-Eagles-Rolling Stones fan. and a ram when it comes to music. good reaction from you. this is one of those songs that is hard to avoid listening to.
Ive never been a fan of ACDC
I'm totally in agreement with David on this, I love acdc but there not in the same league as iron maiden as far as stage presence and showmanship I think they're like led zeppelin in that respect. Lots of swagger from the front men but not a lot of presence from the rest
Angus Young alone stinks of showmanship
