"Now flashbacks wake me abruptly when police pass by Lights flash, if i could only put the past on a flashdrive I’d For peace of mind, install an external drive
So I’d be more driven internally to survive".... That's that line Myke C-Town was talking about. And he's right. That shit is crazy.
That's one hell of metaphor .... :)
Once again ive been recommended to listen to an artist I have never heard of before and absolutely been blown away- thanks deadendhiphop!
I agree with you guys 100%. Everytime I hear a review and hear that Black Thought is going to be featured on the album it makes me WAY more interested in the album, even if the artist is someone I have never heard of even a little bit before.
Pharoahe Monch the epitome of underrated but loved by peers.
People probably dont know who monch is and thats why. His fans knows that he's a top tier MC
Matteo Litrico even eminem knows pharoahe is a top tier mc
yugang08 Yeah the flow Em got now was done by monch back in the 90's when he was with O.K.. The dude was years ahead anyone else
Matteo Litrico i've already made this comment but: monch got more varied flows/cadences and rhyme schemes in his arsenal than em. em definitely drew inspiration from monch and monch was indeed ahead of his time.
yugang08 Yeah most definitely. "But I still rap like I'm on my Pharoahe Monch grind" Em is one of my personal favorites but he knows whats up when it comes to monch.
My top 3 already so far this year:
THIS album, Cunninlynguists SJVol. 3 and Freddie Gibbs/Madlib - Pinata
You know it's a good album when beezy talks a lot :D
CZcams is the perfect place for DEHH because I couldn't see them working on tv. Just off the fact that they have strong opinions, sponsors would try to censor them, they could loose they're rawness and the appeal wouldn't feel as real as it does now.
Thank u myke!! Number 2 for me so far. Been waiting for this review for ages!
Nearly eight years late, but this was my first experience with Pharoahe Monch and holy shit! This dude...!
Thank y'all so much.
Was waiting for this one. Loved this album. Review on the channel.
Oh yeah, Feefo you should check out Organized Konfusion (Pharoahe Monch & Prince Po) as well if you want to really hear some vintage Pharoahe rhymes. Stress: The Extinction Agenda & The Equinox to be more exact.
Great review, but no mention of Organized Konfusion? IMO Stress: The Extinction Agenda was definitely worth citing for the claim that Pharoahe Monch is one of the greatest.
I've listened to PTSD twice and I love this album,
it's in my top 3 of the year along with Run The Jewels 2 and Pinata.
Monch was a beast with the wordplay and all of the features were an excellent fit.
This album is the epitome of real hip hop.
Dope review...Dope Dawn of the Dead T-shirt Myke
mad respect for everything you guys said on this review
I can say that when all these guys agree strongly about a project that it's worth checking out. When Beezy makes just as many valid points as Myke you damn right im gonna check it out. I love the frustrated reviews for their own reasons but these passionate and informative ones keep me checking out DEHH.
Great review, this was one of the best reviews you've guys had in a while. I agree with everyone. Support this joint mane.
I can't wait to see you guys that new Roots album when it drops.
Only because Ive seen his vlad interview, PM stated this album was a follow to WAR and is about someone coming back from war, as well as his own personal problems with depression etc. He says it is his most personal album
Word I agree. I've only begun listening to it and I had my headphones on before bed in the dark and I can literally "see" so much going on . I'm definitely buying this in a physical copy. Hope best buy has it
loved this album, the concept and production was great
This album had to grow on me a little bit for me to truly GET it. There were tracks that just stood out to me from the get go as dope (Time 2, Damage, Bad MF, Rapid Eye Movement, Jungle) I needed a few listens to understand some of the more conceptual tracks. BTW. W.A.R. was my favorite Pharoahe Monch album and IMO Internal Affairs is dope AF but his albums have managed to get progressively better over time.
Feefo's beezy impression was hilarious haha
great review, about to give the album a listen for the first time
Black Thought deserves verse of the year for 2014 so far. Utter Annihilation!!
I have been waiting for this review. This album is fucking nuts
I still need to pick this one up. I loved "W.A.R."
And I'd love to see reviews of "Winter and the Wolves," "Southsiders," and "Strangeulation"
Thanks for the review
The first half of 2014 has been pretty strong so far, definitely looking forward for ya'll's top 5
And we still have a Roots album coming
hpk008 This year is gonna be dope. Jay Rock, Ab-Soul, Kendrick Lamar, Nas, The Roots, Krayzie Bone, Nipsey Hussle, Wu Tang Clan, Joey Bada$$, Pusha T, Kanye (supposedly), Ice Cube, Jay Electronica, Jadakiss. This year looking good.
Mousecop And the new Run the Jewels album and Mr. MFN eXquire's new album. Shit is going to be great.
Mousecop Add KRIT and Yelawolf to that list!
I liked the album. I appreciated how focused the lyrics were. Nothing really stuck out to me but Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Still a cool project.
Great album, Great review!
nice revew, going to I-tunes to buy it,fudge pudge forerver!
I interpreted the album the same way as Myke. I wasn't as blown away as they were with the album, but this is a great album.
been a fan of pharoahe monch since the organized konfusion days & this dude has always been one of the best on the mic.so far the best album of the year to me.if your not up on pharoahe monch then go check his organized konfusion work with prince po on albums "organized konfusion","stress:the extinction agenda"which came out 20 years ago & still sounds great today,"the equinox" & then check out his solo work on "internal affairs","desire","war"if your not convince of his incredible word play.this brother needs his props.like he said on the song soundman.."PHAROAHE,GOD'S GIFT TO VOCABULARY".big ups to dead end hip hop on this album review.
Def gotta scoop this album
Good review.
Dude has 4 albums all are great!!!
Myke C-Town what'd you think of the new Atmosphere album? you guys gonna review it?
Y'all need to Review the Organized Konfusion album "Stress" for one of the upcoming Classic Reviews, Peace
Yes! Hands down my all time favourite hip-hop album.
Good job guys! This shit is a classic! Pharoahe Monch is the complete package, his live shows are equally incredible! Damian Lillard looking like dude needs to seriously check his back catalogue, for real!
Y'all looking fresh as hell in the video though. Lol
Hope you guys reviewed AOTP-In Death Reborn
This was a great album by Pharoahe Monch! I love Internal Affairs the most and Desire! PTSD is a well made album! "Bad MF, Times2, Damage, Rapid Movement"! I really love "Broken Again"! It really relates to you being broken hearted in general! And I have been more than twice so that's how come I can relate to this song so much!..Pharoahe Monch has always been one of my favorite emcee's! Not alot of people talk about him, you can asks kids today and they wouldn't even know who the hell Pharoahe Monch is! I was bumping his shit since high school I'm 22 now! Even during that time kids and teens were always into T.I., Jay-Z and so many other nonsense rap!..Point is ya'll really gotta listen to this album! You can learn alot if you're going through depression or whatever...
the best album I've heard so far this year
It's good this album put Feef on Pharoahe Monch, the guy is a beast. In my lyrical top 5 undoubtedly.
pharoahe monchs flows are amazing on damage, id really like a song with eminem, pharoahe monch and maybe lupe. btw yall's reviews are awesome
You guys should review the new Roots album when it comes out with The Needle Drop
I'm a big fan of Pharoahe Monch. Loved his Internal Affairs album and some of his Organized Konfusion stuff. I wasn't that big on W.A.R. and i bought that too. To me, PTSD is better than WAR but it still has some beats on it that I don't really get into. Monch is always on point but i don't love his beat selection that much.
Haha, I'm was listening to "Scream" while I saw this video pop up on my homepage lol.
Demanding Atmosphere - Southsiders review!
So... u guys should review Southsiders by Atmosphere... just sayin
when pharoahe released rapid eye movement before the album dropped i knew when i heard that that this would be a great album
can yall sit feefo down and school him n give him all the for fathers or hip hop please..give him organized confusion albums so he has an idea of who he is talking about
Please review Tech N9ne:Strangeluation
Whoa!!!! Just heard that album two days ago. I love it. Tech and Strange blazed through that album. Dead end hip hop gotta review it
Could you please review Bas- Last Winter
will you be reviewing the future album?
Feefo needs to listen to the Stress album…I guarantee you bro, after you listen to the album, Monch will be on your top ten lol
Please I hope yall review Bas - Last Winter!! That guy deserves the recognition and he's signed to J. Cole!
finnaly
also skyzoo & torae "barrel brothers lp and eMC.
Please review Procause- Waves EP. Shits good.
Do a video on the XXL freshman list.
hahah beezy was so funny in this vid. but also summed up the album really well in my opinion
southsiders review pls
These dudes are actually pretty good at reviews... #Respect
JUST LISTENED TO "RAPID EYE MOVEMENT", AND I MUST SAY THAT BLACK THOUGHT EASILY DROPPED ONE OF THE MOST MEMORABLE VERSES IN RECENT MEMORY. THE WORD "CLASSIC" IS THROWN AROUND FREELY IN TODAYS WORLD, BUT I THINK IT'S THE ONLY SUITABLE TERM FOR THAT VERSE. PLEASE REVIEW- 9TH WONDER PRESENTS: JAMLA IS THE SQUAD
I wanted to listen to this because of an interview I read. Apparently he was dealing with depression and contemplated suicide due to drugs and whatnot.
Please review Mac Miller - "Faces" I know its long but it'd be really appreciated.
Wow, yawl took alot from this album. I honestly thought it related to the track Assassin's with Jean Grae and Royce. The same idea Jean follows in her latest album.
I like scream its from the heart and sometimes life makes u scream
Do the review of the new mixtape by mac miller called faces. Thank you.
its like this album is about me. sounds dope aswell.
question.. why is the damn video so big???
it's good that someone like mike recognizes pharoahes amazing flow but honestly pharoahe is insane.
i have a friend wwho's favourite rapper is ghostface and i told him to listen to pharoahe and he listened to all his solo albums and said he is know his 2nd fav of all time and he hasn't even heard the organized konfusion albums yet
Tell him check out King Los - Zero Gravity 2
How old was kinge when this album dropped? ^^
He was 22. 3 years later, the nigga's 45.
Chris Napper 😂😂😂😂 he look very young here
@@Only1Skrybe 😂😂😂😂
Did he just say "Paine College"?? Are they in Augusta Ga??
Atlanta
Black Thought on the song Web......WOW!!!
J-Live - Around the Sun
Your Dawn of the Dead shirt is ill, Myke C!
Review AOTP New joint!
Beezys tshirt though (y)
He had 4 hits in a row and i cant help but tie his work
But really myke? War was a great album and I felt it had the better ending too, Jill Scott was amazing
And the ending to this album, was a song off of war too, still a good song but still,
Im surprised u said that, I was wondering wat it could be,
That XXL Freshman cover review though...
So you guys aren't going to review Faces by Mac Miller???
PLEASE REVIEW MAC MILLER -FACES
Damn feef?! I'm gonna need u to dig thru the crates
'desire' was fuckin' ill.... it's slept on as fuck.... way iller than w.a.r
apples v oranges
that dhali llama line omg
Wheres that freshman list review?
Feffo has just reaffirmed my opinion of him. Not dissing him but lox over PM?
Bruh I'm not u and u not me just cuz I don't hold something in the same regard as u don't mean shit
Feefo247 Dont take it personal, its the net
Monch is one of the most skilled emcee's ever imo but he needs to quit it with the hooks; that might just be a personal thing tho.
and feefo should listen to Releasing Hypnotical Gases by Organized Konfusion. One of the best songs ever imo, Pharaohe/Po at their best
If you ever question Monchs story telling ability listen to Trilogy off of Desire
FeeFo google Organized Konfusion (Fudge Pudge) I wish i was on this show for real
Thirteen.
huh? what does 13 mean?
dapluva1
The song off O.K's 2nd album. Monch destroys it.
I think he intentionally was talking from the perspective of someone coming from war as well as talking about the stress that comes from everyday life when dealing with depression and living in the inner city.
2:22 lmao!!
This album has not a single flaw. Everything was amalgamated with precision from the track listing, content, syllables, skits and features through to the production.
lmao at beezy at 13:10
I liked this album better than WAR. 2 me he was more focused and the production was on point.
Myke is the fucking man
Lol all you need is the commercial oh no track he did that showed he had a better flow than em. MY personal favorite flow was pun though
