- I know that you think that every hero and villain created by dc and marvel, are completely original ideas. You might think that all the characters you love are completely unique ideas written by genius writers. most of them indeed are original ideas. But did you know that sometimes they actually like to copy each other? Especially if you have been more attentive, you've certainly noticed that several DC and Marvel characters have many things in common. Thats what this video is about. In this video, I'm bringing you a list of characters that both Marvel and DC copied from each other. And the list is so big that i actually cant include every character in just one video. So if you want a part 2, let me know in the comments.
Marvel and DC Copycats Part 2: • BIGGEST MARVEL AND DC ... - Zábava
Part 2 is already out! Link in the description!
Yeah, I don't think it really matters because both DC and Marvel have "shared" the same creators, writers, and artists......
Of course it matters because even though they share writers and creators the actual parent companies are the ones that own the rights and make money
Captain america and guardian are both made by Jack kirby, so he copied his marvel character for dc not dc comics themselves copying marvel
Also look at how many Simon/Kirby sidekicks looked like Bucky with a different color scheme.
But DC has indeed copied Marvel. I can personally name lots of characters.
@@SuperGayMan1000name them
The Avengers are a copy of the Justice League, first appearing in 1963, three years after the JL debuted in 1960. Jim Starlin's Thanos was "inspired" by Jack Kirby's Darkseid. Kirby was co-creator of the Challengers of the Unknown for DC in 1957, and would go on to copy elements from that team when creating the Fantastic Four for Marvel in 1961.
Avengers better still
Jim Starlin and Jack Kirby were both roommates also; they probably talked about their characters.
Thanos was more inspired by Metron then Darkseid. The ONLY thing Starlin took from Darkseid was his Size.
Challengers Of The Unknown were a group of Three Scientists who explored and solved scientific mysteries. They had a forth Female member AFTER the Fantastic Four was created. Jack Kirby was the only creator.
Stan has said Martin Goodman found out that the Justice League was selling and told him to create a team like that. Since Timely /Atlas wasn't doing heroes at the time the Fantastic Four was the first answer to the Justice League
Just because there are similarities in the characters, it doesn't mean that the artist who designed Vision for example copied Red Tornado
Red Tornado Copied Marvel's first character The Android Human Torch.
Both were created in a Secret Laboratory, both were ment to be weapons of war. And both were Elemental Androids.
Red Tornado element of air, original Human Torch element of fire.
@@SuperGayMan1000 Also... Vision was built from the Original Human Torch (or, at least in most continuities...) so, that ends that as well.
@@TxSonofLiberty
The White Vision sure.
Amazing Work. Light being shed on the copying was long overdue!
Fiiine, I’ll subscribe. But make sure to make a video about Spawn
Wolverine is a rip-off of TimberWolf who became more popular, and if I recall, Lobo is a rip-off of Wolverine lol.
TimberWolf was Super Strong and could Fly in his first appearance, he only had a healing factor and became more Animalistic AFTER Wolverine was created so nope. Wolverine was never a Ripoff of Timberwolve.
Sabretooth was the ripoff of Timber wolf.
More I need more! Lol, keep up the good work bro.
Thank you! Stay tuned, part 2 is coming soon
About Vision, Roy Thomas original plan was to have the Golden Age Vision join the Avengers, but Stan Lee wanted an android hero (no way of knowing if he knew about the Red Tornado) so Roy re-worked his idea, keeping the name. Let's not forget that the original Human Torch was an android who was red when aflame. Neither Marvel nor DC created the concept of androids so saying one character is a copy of the other because they are both androids doesn't make much sense.
Dude, The Guardian and Captain American were both Jack Kirby and Joe Simon created characters. Timely Comics (Marvels original name) was seriously underpaying these guys and they got a better offer from DC so reusing their concept seems legit to me.
It's not legit because when you create content for a company that company owns the content. You don't get to just create it somewhere else
i'd like to see a part two of this.
Stay tuned
Bring on part 2!
DC has Catwoman
- Marvel has Black Cat,
Hepzibah
Tigra
Hellcat
DC has Batman
Marvel has NightHawk ( a millionaire who dresses in a dark Disguise (animal themed) and
goes fighting crime at night.)
You mean Zorro or the Shadow, right? Wealthy guy, mask, dark attire, fights criminals with skills not superpowers? Batman is a rip-off, not original.
Nighthawk, Power Princess, the Skrullian Skymaster, Hyperion, Whizzer II (Stewart), Doctor Spectrum, Amphibion, and almost all the Squadron Supreme are meant to be mockeries of the Justice League... it is intentional to show the Squadron Supreme lose to the Avengers.
Newest yooo hooo
Thanks for sharing this vid
Kind of funny but Marvel might not have did Captain Marvel if another company did not create a android Captain Marvel that made Martin Goodman Marvel's then owner upset he didn't want another publisher having a character with Marvel in their name. Also that Captain Marvel was created by Carl Burgos the creator of the original Human Torch who was upset over what was done with the Torch after his copyright lawsuit failed.
The one Crossover/Team up I always wanted to see since childhood was a team up with Dr. Doom and Lex Luthor! That would be interesting! Also, speaking of copycat characters I remember there was a superhero, I'm sure Stan Lee & Jack Kirby didn't copy him on purpose. But there was a Superhero called The Comet, in the 1940's, whom fired eyebeams from his eyes, just as later Cyclops of the X-men could do. And just as with Cyclops, he had to wear a protective visor, to keep his eyebeams under control. I remember it was published by MLJ Comics, which would later publish Archie Comics. I also remember The Comet got killed in his last adventure.
Very good! 😄
Yes please do a part 2 or part 3 thank you
Part 2 is already out!
steel is NOT a copy of iron man
Yes
Hurry up with Part 2, Dude 😍 How about Flash/Quicksilver, Submariner/Aquaman, Swamp Thing/Man Thing for starters?
Part 2 is already out, you can check it out
The Heap was created about 20 years before Man Thing and Swamp Thing
Plastic Man and Mr Fantastic
Captain Marvel and Shazam in the 70s were legally allowed to be exactly alike. Right down to the young person transforming into a superhero.
Good luck with your success
Thank you ❤️
I disagree that steel is a copy of iron man. Yes they have similar backstories but thats where the similarities end, Steel is actually inspired by a historic figure named John Henry (There was a short story on netflix about him while ago). Evidence that steel is based on John Henry is 1. his name 2. his weapon of choice, in the story John Henry dug out a mountain with a hammer(steel uses hammer)
Great video.
Thank you!

Thank you bro🙏
Continue the growth bro keep up the great content
Vision in comics is android type. During a fight, he was captured by Avengers and reprogrammed. Wonderman, husband of Wanda was brain dead and the Avengers transferred all the memories of wonderman to visions body.
Captain Marvel is the only hero who appeared both in Marvel and in DC. Captain Marvel's story and conflict in both company are very interesting especially to comic supporters, I wish Marvel started the movie with Captain Mar-vell story line instead of Carol Denvers, which skip the Ms. Marvel storyline.
We'll probably never know the truth behind Vision vs. Red Tornado. Nostalgia reboot was popular at that time in the late 1960s and both characters had namesakes in the Golden Age (although Red Tornado's was hardly a true super hero). It was a pretty big coincidence though that both were rebooted so close together. I'd love to know though about the X-Men vs. Doom Patrol. That seems much more sus.
What’s the background song 4:31
Marvel's Deadpool breaks the fourth wall; I'm not sure DC's Deathstroke does.
I mentioned in the video that Deadpool despiste his similiarities with deathstroke, he is still a character with unique traits
Def Your grate brow 🖤
Guardian did play a major supporting role in The Death of Superman Story.
Iron Man seems to be a mash-up of Bruce Wayne and Superman (Iron Man... Man of Steel, red and gold suit = red and yellow "S"). Carol Danvers -= Kara Danvers, obviously, with a bit of Green Lantern thrown in. Nothing wrong with Marvel and DC having some healthy competition and keeping each other on their toes.
I would like a part 2
Part 2 is already out! You can check it out on my channel
Thanks
It shouldn’t be about “Who did it first?” it should be about “Who did it better?”
Considering D.C. & Marvel has said they call each other to ask or give a heads-up should tell you all.
I was surprised with Wolverine.
Actually the original Golden Age Guardian (Jim Harper) was a police officer.
1:36 between 1940's vision and the Martian man hunter (dc) who came first. And don't you think they were a copy of each other?
Vision also took dc's miracle man design
Actually, NO. I always knew they copied each other. The lawsuits gave it away
Im pretty sure Deathstroke would off himself after 10min alone with Deadpool
Mar-Vell is not a copy of Captain Marvel in any way. The only thing the two characters had in common was the name. It's not Marvel's fault that DC and/or Fawcett allowed the copyright on the Name to expire allowing Marvel to take advantage of it.
In a way, Mar-Vell did copy the original Captain Marvel later in his series. When Mar-Vell was trapped in the Negative Zone, teenage Rick Jones used a pair of nega-bands to change places with him, by slamming the bands together over his head ( copying Samson from the 1960s cartoon “Young Samson & Goliath”). There was even a scientist named Dr. Savannah (Sivana?).
@@13thwho Rick Jones, aka Hulk's buddy, who was a Teenager in the sense that he was 19... not the same as 12 year old Billy Batson.
@@13thwho Not really. Billy IS Marvel, just older and smarter while the Big Red Cheese. Rick was Rick and Mar-Vell was Mar-Vell, they were in no way the same person.
@@Clell65619 Some stories argue whether Billy and Captain Marvel are the same person. For example, in Captain Marvel Adventures” #73 from 1947, the lead story is “Captain Marvel Meets Billy Batson”. In it, Zeus had a sore shoulder, so every time Billy said “Shazam!”, Zeus would throw the magic lightning bolt, but it would strike someone else, changing that person into Captain Marvel.
Nobody thinks every character is original 🙄. Sometimes the copycat is better
I think Wolverine is similar but clearly not the same as Timber wolf. Timber wolf has finger claws, which is actually the same as another Marvel character, Sabretooth. I would say Sabretooth is the Timber wolf copy, not Wolverine.

Part 2!
All the Stories from DC and Marvel were originally connected together except that they broke away from each other and in court they got a settlement agreement known as to each their own...and this resulted in both Companies losing rights to two main things either one company lost the name I'm usage for that Character...and by this agreement each Company was able to retain to pieces of the Storyline or the character...now the if you got the Character in the settlement the other lost rights to the Name and back and Forth...
I'll give you a Good example that not many people get... The Joker and the Green Goblin are the same Character except that because one or the other company lost the rights they had to rewrite the storyline and both companies have been stuck on that...
Now Wolverine is supposed to be Batman except that like the Joker in Batman Wolverine is poor and Homeless in X-Men and in reverse the Joker was made poor and Homeless in Superman...😅
This is a real story...now Fox owns X-Men and Spiderman and the Fantastic 4 and any shows you ever seen on Fox like Captain Planet right that's Marvel and those kids from the show use the Madrians POWER RINGS...there's 10 right the Green Lantern has the Green Ring right and he does make an appearance with the doctor strange because you don't realize that Doctor Strange appeared in both DC and Marvel storylines...now Iron Man is supposed to be Disney right Walt Disney himself...and Iron Man and Spiderman meet up...now the WB is DC comics and they been making movies for ever trying to fix their storyline gaps and retrofitting the missing character either by name or appearance...now on DC sides Batman Beyond is their Spiderman...
Terry Meguines is Knight Hawks Son and Night Hawk used an Earlier version in the Batman stories... except that Batman disappears and the Show eventually ends right but meanwhile they introduced Night Hawk and eventually Tim Drake ran off to create the Teen Titans and he dies... supposedly at the End of the Teen Titans Tim Drake dies and that's where the story lines meet up with Batman reappearing before Batman Beyond...now Bruce is Hercules...
As far as Vision and Red Tornado go I would like Roy Thomas's input because they came out so close to the same time and he did use a few issues laying the ground work for the Vision's debut .
Martian Manhunter would be a closer copy of the original Vision .
I still don't see how Vision copied Red Tornado.
@@SuperGayMan1000 he didn't... in fact, it is technically the other way around... as Red Tornado is based off the Original Human Torch (the Android, from Marvel's earliest stuff, who fought in WWII along side Captain America and Namor, both of whom DC also ripped off), and in most Marvel timelines, the Original Human Torch's body was used by Ultron 5 to make Vision.
The only thing they have in common is they were created by villains
@@TxSonofLiberty
Oh, that I know. Both The Android Human Torch and Red Tornado were Elemental Androids created to be weapons of War during World War 2.
And true, Martian Manhuanter was a copy of the original Vision. Both are last survivors of their home Planets, both came to Earth disguise as Human Police Detectives.
I always thought Vision and the Martian were copies
At the end of the day they are all grandchildren of the one and only OG superman😂
😂😂
Wait until he finds out about Invincible
Hi, I'm Scott from London, who is more powerful, Black Adam or superman
John henry irons. The name even gives it away
Nice video it's the same company
Your comment doesn't make any sense what are you or referencing?
marvel and dc the same people lol
Well, the new Aquaman movie copied one of the Thor films.
Let’s talk about The flash and quicksilver !!
Stay tuned 😉
Steel wasn’t copying iron man. Steel was a response to the DEATH OF SUPERMAN. There was a series called “Rise of the SuperMen”, where John Henry aka Steel, rose up to take Superman’s place. So did a handful of other mf’s, but he was a notable mention..
Yes knew all those! Another please!
Why is it that on the picture of the video marvel is copying dc when dc is copying marvel
Timber Wolf was most likely ripped off by Sabretooth not Wolverine.
Red Tornado existed in the 40s
漫威只是改編正常的全王,卡卡羅特的兒子,孫悟空的兒子
Marvel's Captain Marvel it's not a copy of Shazam. They took ownership of a name because they were Marvel Comics and had to keep publishing the comic or the character to keep the copyright but their powers and Origins are nothing alike
I thought Captain Marvel came out earlier?
Thanos is created inspired partly by Darkseid.. Kirby make Darkseid and Jim Starlin.created .Thanos..
And Now Marvel Has So many Superman Ripoffs so disappointing
Sentry
Hyperion
Blue Marvel
Gladiator
😂
Sentry was inspired by Miracle Man and Shazam.
Blue Marvel has more in common with Captain Atom.
The only Superman type character in Marvel is Hyperion.
Gladiator was inspired by the version of Superboy and The Legion Of Superheroes.
Superman himself was inspired by Warlord Of Mars, Doc Savage and the Golden Age Gladiator.
We don't need two Supermans and that's what captain America is.
the only similarity between them is the colors of their costumes
Really hard to listen to this with the load music mixed in. Great info though
Uk the background song at 4:31 ?
bring moreeeeeeeee
Stay tuned, part 2 comes out in 2 days
1:20 le Avatar
Deadpool is a baltant ripoff of Ambush Bug.
And Deathstroke...
Deathstroke left the chat
You said guess who steel is copying but then told us like why even ask us to guess
What about THOR and HAWK MAN? DR. STRANGE AND DR. FATE? ANT MAN AND ATOM? Green arrow and HAWK eye?
Part 2 is coming soon, Stay tuned
Definitely should have dropped Thanos is a copy of Darkside
Part 2 is out 😉
its pointless to talk about this as comic artist have been shuffeld through DC / Marvel / Vertigo etc
Timberwolves and sabertooth are closer
Somehow the character of Tony Stark was always close to that one of Bruce Wayne. Not their alteregos though.
Bruce Wayne was close to Lamont Cranston AKA The Shadow, Richard Wentworth AKA The Spider (inspired Spider-Man) and Anthony Quinn AKA The Black Bat (inspired Batman, Daredevil and Dr Mid-Nite)
Good job. Keep it up.
But try not to sound too one-sided. It's obvious you favor Marvel, based on how you sound and your choice of words. Try to centralize things.
Thank you!
I do love Marvel but i must tell you that my 2 favorite super Heroes of all time are from DC
And My favorite of all time is Also from DC
@@NerdTalkk yet you sounded different from what you just replied. Well that's by the way, I love your videos . Please keep the good work going.

Part 2 is already out! Link for the video is in the description
In this video full of random clips, bad background music, and inane voice over...
There three dc comics Ironman knockoffs: rocket red, technocract, and atomic knight💁🏻♂️.
Steel in not even close to being a copy
Play at 0.75x speed it will sound normal
Guardian sounds more like iron man not cap
More videos
deadpool is better then slade imo
my favourite dc character is shazam he like a better superman
my favourite marvel character is deadpool they picked the right actor :)
You are so wrong! Even captain america costume is a copy from a hero from dc watchman... there are so many things that are stolen from dc.EVEN THE NAME "MARVEL" (for the comic) is stolen😂
Who the heck is Watchman? Captain America was made in 1940. DC Comics wasn't even DC Comics until 1977, National Publications was the company suing and ripping off others.
lol why the ai voice though

Hawkeye and green arrow which is a copycat
I Will do a part 2 if you want
Green arrow came first and hawkeye came later (but as a villain). Hawkeye later became a hero tho and then there were two archer heroes that were very similar.
Both are copies of the Robin Hood myth. Green Arrow with his Arrow Car, Arrow Lines, and Arrow cave was a Batman ripoff with arrows instead of batarangs.
Fair use is now a thing, thank god.
Do more
Yes sir 🫡
Shaq steel
I thought blue beetle was copy of spider man or via versa. When I sow the movie blue beetle
Original Blue Beetle (Garrett) and Original Spider-Man (Parker) are vastly different characters... Blue Beetle wasn't even DC originally, and wasn't much like Spidey. He popped a pill and gained enhanced strength, agility, and durability, wore chainmail armor, was a cop by day).
What you are comparing is Blue Beetle III, who wears an Cybernetic Alien Parasite to Stark Armored Spider-Man.
Good luck getting to 1000 nerd brother.
Same company 😅😅😅😅
bro steel is look much like thor
DC ripped off Fawcett Comics character 'Shazam. ' They'd created a character named 'God Damn.' Both yelled out there name. But one was hit by lightning, giving him the powers of the Gods. The other yelled out, 'God Damn!'. And was struck down by lightning and died.
