I will never silicone without glass cleaner (without ammonia) again. The results, speed and quality of the bead are pretty much clean and flawless, with no mess AND clean fingers, although I spray a little on my finger with each wipe. After seeing this, it appears I don’t need to and will try without. Nice job/instructional video. 👍🏼
Thank you! I need to re-caulk my kitchen and I was trying to figure out how the caulk was originally done to look so perfect. This cleared that up and now I know I can do the job and make it look just as professionally done. That is awesome!
Thank you so much! I've fought with caulk for ages and this looks like a fabulous game changer! I can't wait to impress my son and husband! Thank you! Thank you!
Thank you for the tip about the spry, I just had to do the same job as you and used that exact glass cleaner. Came out nice. Going to use this for future jobs when applying silicon.
It will fail prematurely this is a stupid idea. I have installed sealant professionally for over 40 years and have had to repair 1000s o& feet of sealant because of this stupidity
@@Moneybagsss yes the spray WILL make it fail prematurely. And it is easy to make it look good with the spray, but it will not be bonded well. So if it is in an area that will never get wet and you don’t mind replacing it every few years then use the spray. But if it will get wet and you want it to last 20-30 years, then mask and dry tool. Much more tedious takes twice as long but will actually perform as intended.Professional caulkers have a saying “ pretty is nice but bonded is better” sealants purpose is to stop water infiltration. That doesn’t mean it should be ugly but it is very unwise to choose looks over actually making it water tight.
The best video on caulking - just tried it over the weekend and it surely works like a charm. And I am no pro at this and used to hate caulking because it would never come right. Thank you for sharing this tip!
Thank you so much! I was just looking at my tub today thinking I need to remove the old caulk an replace. You’ve made my job 100% easier when I caulk. Now if I could find a way to make old caulk removal easier. Thanks you again.
Wish I saw this before I pulled half my hair out trying to use silicone caulk to redo my shower insert and window UGH! Between having unusable half tubes of caulk and trying to be meticulous and correct boo boos with water, mineral spirits, and denatured alcohol (just bought today) I am beyond frustrated. I wish your video had popped up sooner. I really don't want to go out and buy another product, but I have spent waaaay to much time on this already (your gloating about it taking one minute made my BP rise 🤣). This project WILL be completed by the end of this weekend 🤞. Thank you for sharing.
A contractor showed me tips: 1. Cut the old silicone with a cutter. 2. Clean around to eliminate dirt and grease (you can use thinner or white spirit). 3. Mask with painter tape. 4. Apply the silicone. 5. Wet your finger and press to even the finishing.
Thank you. I tried as instructed and it worked really well. I didn't use a caulking gun though. I had 2oz GE silicone in tube so i just used it without a caulking gun but it worked just fine. I used ammonia free glass cleaner and it really helped a lot. Thank you very much~
I'm getting mixed messages another video a had a couple drops of laundry detergent liquid in a bottle of water sprayed and then negative comments about not having water around the silicone because it won't allow it to adhere to any adjacent surfaces which is the whole point to bridge the gap sufficiently.
Man. This is amazing. Many many thanks. I have now done most my work, however next time I shall look up this video. I made such a mess and the cleanup too three times longer than the application. Q: what’s the equivalent to liquid glass in Australia...... ?
I’m an Aussie lady .. I’ve never seen spray glass cleaner in a can .. hopefully we sell it here maybe at Bunnings (if any other Aussie might know ?) I suppose we can’t just use the normal blue window spray in a pump bottle ?
The contractor who renovated our kitchen 5 years ago (not licensed) used the same grout that he used for the wall tiles for the area between the granite countertops and wall tiles… around the sink, the grout is now cracked and discolored. After watching this video, I’m thinking he should have used silicone caulk instead. Looks like I’ll be removing the bottom grout and putting in silicone caulk. Great video!!
That's the same thing I'm looking to fix in a few minutes! It's all cracked, especially around the sink area to the point where ants are using it as a highway! 😭
Yeah it's 100% needed, silicone sticks to EVERYTHING and of course it's waterproof so once it's stuck to fingers, it's a right pain in the arse to get off.
My kitchen sink has had part of the silicone completely degrade over time. The guy at the hardware store told me to not take it all off in the event the sink is held up by the silicone. I assume in this case I should clean the areas where there is no silicone and simply re-apply silicone to those sections, Is this correct?
Such a great tip. Just re-caulked our kitchen with 100% silicone. This really worked well and I am not an experienced caulker. Thanks!!

THANK YOU SIR !!
Wow! Looks great! Thanks for showing how to work behind the faucet. Been putting this off and you have inspired me to get to it! Thank you!
DO NOT DO THIS
This is the absolute best instruction video out there for this! Thank you man! Forever grateful!
Thanks for the tip. Works great. I always make a mess with caulking material.

There’s nothing like a bright, white, fresh sealant job! 🤩
This works great. Thank you so much for the tip. Got the kitchen done in no time , now off to the bathroom!

Virginia Worrell my pleasure. Glad it helped
I did my best ever smooth caulk joints. Thanks
Such a flawless job. You are the bomb
Thanks. I will be trying this.
I’m just now finding this video and want to say THANK YOU!!

I’ve used soapy water and even windex and had the same results.
This worked amazing! Thanks for sharing this trick.
Thank you for sharing this. This solves my everlasting issue that nobody tells you how to do it at Home Depot or Lowe's.
Great tip. Thanks!!
This is a great technique. I'm terrible at caulking but that is super easy
This works wonders!! I used the windex version since I couldn't find Invisible glass in stores. Thank you so much for the tip!
Melissa Jarosz can I use the blue winded spray bottle or it has to be aerosol?
@@HaDealio I just caulked around my sink and used a spray bottle of window cleaner and it came out looking good.

thanks for the tips. arrived well into my country hopefully worldwide would know this skill! 😁😁
Wow that looks easy thanks for sharing cheahhhhhh
Wow, looks so easy. I will try this. Thank you for sharing
I have seen the same effect achieved with a spray bottle of water. You don't need a spray bottle of anything store-bought.
Yeah agree with that
I was expecting a 12-15 minute tutorial and 6:55 is such a caulk tease.
Great video. So helpful!
Outstanding tip!
Excellent video , thank you!
AWESOME!! Thank you for sharing!!!
I need a new sink with a deep deck at the back. Can you tell me who the manufacturer is? Your instructions are very clear. Thanks
Great Video and Tip! Thank You!
This trick is legendary. This is the best calking trick ever.
Thank you! Good tips and I feel more confident that I can do this!
Amazing work! Will you be doing more videos like this soon?

You can use water but I find the best is methyl hydrate as it evaporates after a few minutes
Does it have to be a can of the spray glass cleaner or will any bottle of windex work the same?
thats rad. thanks mate!
Brilliant!!! Thanks!
Wow, great info. Just for others. Chatgpt says that other window cleaning agent brands do the work also. I tested with one eco product. Works well.
Thank you. Will this work w wood- type products?
Thank you for sharing this great tip.
Does this work with larger gaps?
Great video bud,Alsome job..Which caulk gun did You use.

Q: what’s the equivalent to liquid glass in Australia...... ?
Soapy water...a little washing up liquid water in a spray jobs a good one
Very helpful thank you.
Love this! Have a question though, I've never seen Invisible Glass in our stores here. Any alternative suggestions?
Any glass cleaner without ammonia
Do you think the spray is also safe for use on painted counters?
Okay I just finished smoothing out the silicon. When and how can I clean off the glass cleaner?
Excellent! Very neat and clean! I really like it!
Great tip!
Did I miss something? How long did you let the caulk set before you sprayed it with glass cleaner?
Very good. Thanks
Great tip, thanks

Why did my caulk chunk up in some areas when I did it? I used the spray ammonia free window cleaner. I think I'm going to have to redo it.
Thanks!
Could you give me the name of that particular caulk gun?
What is the easiest way to remove old caulking
Wonder if W40 would do the trick as well
Nice, i get similar results with dishsoapy water.
Same concept when doing around the kitchen sink?
very good trick
Wow. Just wow.
Something in my spine hurts every time he wipes his finger on the paper towel
How would this work with windex?
I just installed the same sink with butcher block counters. Did you caulk around the sink as well?
Yes absolutely
I've always sprayed denatured alcohol and it evaporates quickly.
Very helpful video, thank you! Is the Invisible Glass spray necessary, or can you skip?
Yeah it's 100% needed, silicone sticks to EVERYTHING and of course it's waterproof so once it's stuck to fingers, it's a right pain in the arse to get off.

I would remove all the silicone and start over. I think that'd be the best but both would probably work.
What is the spray?
Should I do this for my room so bugs can’t get in cracks?
What was the name of the spray you used to make the job easy and quick?
Invisible glass
Thank you!
Can you use any kind of glass cleaner or does it have to be a invisible glass brand sir?
@@dc.thomas5565 windex will do the job aswell
Read dos and dont’s for granite cleaning. You should not use glass cleaner bc it dulls the granite.
Omg. I messed up my caulking and I m regretting why I did not see this before.
