For one thing we pay our players ( not enough) others, including England do not. Added to this our geography makes it extremely expensive for flights etc for our players, whereas in Europe they can get teams together relatively cheaply and lots of class opponents close by. I’m not defending Canada soccer who have failed miserably but we must recognize the challenges.

Does anyone wonder why stars like Cloe Lacasse, Julia Grosso might want to go to other federations? Our federation is an embarrassement to Canada! How is possible that little countries like Iceland, Portugal, Ireland, Italy, etc. are growing the women's game so beautifully,? and Canada fails these wonderful female athletes? Even with all these problems, if Bev Priestman plays Flaming and Lacasse all the time, Canada will have success at this world cup!
