My Classic 18 dead stock Magnum 350 does exactly 62.5, and I can say that is seriously fast on the water. No way I would want to go 100. There's a reason they come with a dead switch lanyard.

    A friend had a 16ft Donzi Baby with a 235 Johnson outboard. Sick boat...borderline dangerous....nope just dangerous!

While the 496 inch motor sounds sweet you really get an appreciation of Big blocks when you hear a pair of 540s singing in tandem while you make a 100 MPH blast up the Hudson in a 8.8 Meter Fountain Spitfire ..and they weren't even being leaned on ..to bad an electrical fire took the life of the party a few years later . But really good insurance took care of it .. good thing we made sure months earlier we were all covered ... Gee wiz imagine the heart break if we weren't ? PS I love the Donzi but I'm really not to sure about the Color back on the instrument Package I'm thinking Black or even white would have been a nice contrast but yellow bro ? Wow ..that's ummm that's a lot of yellow ...

Elton John sure was popular back in 1980 or whatever.. Never understand music radios in boats... I like to go boating and get away from all that terrestrial crap. To each their own though.. Sweet ride man.

Not the one he is running, and not even trimmed out, beautiful boat, but no way a hundred MPH boat, wanna see one search for " Mighty Mouse ", have seen one with all the tuning possible, Imco shortie, rigged and blue printed, engine and hull, dialed at Mercury's lake X, and would still run in the low 90's, Paul is dreaming or on something !!

Good lookin Donzi! I have the same boat in a Black Hawk version with a 502 bored .030 over a set of good AFR heads and an 8-71 blower on it my exhaust is the same as your headers out the back. I have a methanol injection setup on it and this year I will get my prop to the correct pitch it should be around 32" I am thinking and once I get hat worked out I will start to play with the amount of overdrive on the blower then adjust prop again and I am thinking the methanol will come into play then. The Classic seems to have a little bigger sweet spot in the hull than the Black Hawk does it seems I get above 70 mph and you need to be very gentle with how things are handled it can start to feel a bit squirly if you start to handle it in not a smooth manner.

This guy is as full of crap as a Christmas turkey!! I owned a ‘02 Stingray Boats 230 SX with a 496 (8.1L HO) with 425 stock Hp, and that motor would only do 72 mph with the XR short shaft and the setback box at 12” drive pushing a 26” Herring 5 blade race prop. Then I added a 2.3L Whipple Supercharger and it was put on a Dyno at 660 HP to the Prop shaft. After some tuning at Lake X in St. Cloud where I worked for Mercury Marine for several yrs.as the CNC Machinist and Programmer in the R&D Lab. The best we could ever get out of it was 94.8 mph. yes, that is hauling the mail, and I realize every Hull is going to react differently but Donzi’s are at a very flat 16* degrees of dead rise at the transom( lots of surface tension on the bottom of that hull). My 230 was a full 24* degrees and with the setback and 17” long trim tabs it would run flat out on average 90-92 mph. In December in Florida is the best time because its cooler and drier in humidity. Gear ratio was 2:1 and RPM was set to 6250 before it hit the limiter. I had a tattle tale on the GPS Speedo that went to 120mph. Those numbers don’t lie, but this maybe hit 80...Maybe. Flat bottom donzi’s could do it, but only with the optional Bravo BlackHawks semi-surface drive and some 17” race wheels. This guys is just full of crap.

He should probably go faster if you knew what trim tabs were for Flint drive around with that nose sticking up in the air

Very very nice-My 05 22 classic would hit 70 and it just had the 310 horse 454-with a few hunded lbs of stereo equipt and an extra batt. Man,I love the colors-brought back some memories-and the delta? Lots of time at the Lost Isle -Turners Cut-Tiki Lagoon . Be safe
