    Hi. This video was extremely interesting but, it really let me know just how much I don’t know about Cubase. It was way beyond my understanding of the technology in Cubase as a beginner. How ever I do wish you continued success with all of your future videos and ventures and I also wish you continued success financially as well. Lastly i do what you to know that you have open up my mind to the many possibilities of things I could learn about this DAW. Thank you for this experience. Have a wonderful day and weekend.

    super great update and awesome video Hagai, for me at least it also works soooo smooth now, maybe the smoothest ever! a lot of small bugs disappeared .
    only this for me worth the update.
    I wish they implemented a few things . not complaining , just dreaming...
    1) compressor meter on the meter channel itself (exactly like Protools does it) option to toggle off and on when needed
    2) folders in the mixer window
    3) moving channels freely in the mixer window
    4) preferences might need a new update as well.. color schemes for examples needs some kind simpler way to work with.
    5) preferences new option suggestion (like the mixer EQ that floats and disappears the moment you touch it with the mouse)
    could be such a time savvier if there was an option on any parameter you choose in Cubase to use this function.
    6) video editing option will be the best thing that would ever happen to cubase.
    7) chord track update s
    -option to use a scale in flats or sharps, make it effect globally in all midi editor pages (visibility option with on\off to the chord track )
    -zooming in and out need a bit more flexibility to see the chords more correctly
    -highlight the chords when the cursor is passing
    -using monthling track list needs an update . like the visibility window on the left zones
    -show scales could be updated to be more useful and more customizable . so it wont be locked to the chords.
    -show scales copy and paste option could be independent from the chords
    -show scales could drag and drop option

    • @HagaiDavidoff
      @HagaiDavidoff  Před 7 měsíci +1

      If I recall correctly, in Cubase 12, the feature to get chords from the chord track within the chord pads section was indeed present. Users could extract chord information from the chord track and apply it directly to the chord pads. This was useful for trying out different progressions and harmonies quickly :)
      If this feature is not immediately visible in Cubase 13, it might have been relocated or modified as part of the software's updates. Steinberg often evolves the workflow and feature set with each new release, sometimes moving functions to more intuitive places or enhancing them for better user experience 🤷‍♂

    With plug-in managers like Komplete Kontrol and AkAi VIP, a user can audition any preset Instantly, before loading it .
    So, Cubase's media-bay, could make proxy audio files, for the presets of any selected libraries.
    It would be like browsing the Loops and Samples section of Cubase, but the audition sample is pointing to, calling, a preset for that sound when needed.

    • @HagaiDavidoff
      @HagaiDavidoff  Před 7 měsíci

      That's an intriguing suggestion! The implementation would likely require collaboration with the plugin developers to establish a standardized format, perhaps something akin to VST3, to integrate seamlessly with Cubase's Media Bay. It's certainly an idea with potential to enhance workflow efficiency :)

    Amazing. Does anyone know if Steinberg fixed Automatic Quantize which only quantize 100% (very few instruments should ever be quantized at 100%). The logical thing would be to link AQ to soft quantize as well. I am aware of all the other options: midi insert percentage quantize, logical editor note position and quantizing with soft quantize after recording. All of these have its place, but AQ linked to Soft Quantize would be the quickest workflow option in my opinion. Always moving forward with less distractions.

    Hey Steinberg, give us chained sequences that can be selected on the fly so we can chain our sequences (chorus , breaks, riffs ) live to a song in any order. Give us program keys so we can program our keyboards keys to start midi or any events to trigger live (like 16th or 32th note repeats , midi effect on/offtriggers etc. for example). Give us a build in editor to program our hardware synthesizers. Give us scale and velocity sensitive quantize. Add groove quantize templates for better groove and swing options. (I know you can import them yourself but it should be stock..) 13 not a lucky number I gues .

    • @HagaiDavidoff
      @HagaiDavidoff  Před 7 měsíci

      Hey there!
      I totally get where you’re coming from, wanting to make your live performances as dynamic and seamless as possible. Cubase has some cool tricks up its sleeve that can help with that. The Arranger Track is a nifty feature for live shows. It lets you shuffle your parts around-like your chorus and riffs-on the fly. It’s pretty handy for those spontaneous moments on stage.
      About editing and programming your hardware synths, while Cubase doesn't have a dedicated editor for all hardware, it does support MIDI device panels, which can give you some control over your external gear.
      And you're spot on about the quantize options. Cubase has a pretty robust quantize panel that includes scale and velocity-sensitive quantization. Groove quantize templates are there too, and yes, while you can import your own, there's a bunch included that might just do the trick.
      I hope this helps, and here's to making your live sets even more electrifying!

    • @neuronmind

      @@HagaiDavidoff Thx. for your comment. I know the aranger but you have to program the order of the parts in the sequence .Or does Cubase 13 has a function to trigger the parts like with your qwerty keyboard or master keyboard ? What is so wrong with this is the fact that when using the strip tools ...its called strip for a reason....taking from the word Channel Strip! I like how it used to work where you could see every knob of every element like a console .....This version 13 is kinda stupid ...yea it floats beside it but can I cant see 2 things at once and compare from the console! Maybe I dont want to bring up the channel strip... I want to see things in a console like view! Its very flat and ugly! People keep saying its modern...Yeah whatever! that is just an excuse for bad taste and a lack of artistic creativity in terms of graphic design! Then the Fader caps look like cartoons more than they used to looK! They were soft but kinda cartoonish....but Now!!!! OMG they look tacky.....They should have made them look like the faders from that one plugin from NOISE AUDIO...a true work of art! This is a true work of lazyness! NO taste! no Style! I dont use studio one for that reason! Its buttt ugly! The only flat daw I accept is Ableton Live! Its been this way from day one!

      I see where you're coming from with the changes in Cubase 13. It can be quite jarring when an update alters something you're used to-especially something as integral as the mixer view. It's clear you have a keen eye for design and usability, and it's frustrating when a new 'look' doesn't match up to what you've found efficient and visually appealing.
      The transition to a more minimalist design has been a trend across many platforms, but it's not for everyone, and it doesn't always feel like 'progress,' especially when it affects your workflow.
      Regarding the faders, it's interesting how much the visual aspect can impact our experience with the software. It's definitely important for the tools we use to have that blend of functionality and style that feels right.
      Appreciate you sharing your thoughts-feedback like yours is vital for developers to understand how changes play out in real-world use. Hopefully, future updates might offer a layout that feels more in tune with what you're looking for 🙏

    This is by no means the best DAW. Cubase 13 still has performance issues with random spikes. This is not good. Other DAWs do not have these problems to this extent. And the new features are not particularly important for me as a hobbyist and live player.

    • @HagaiDavidoff
      @HagaiDavidoff  Před 7 měsíci

      I hear your concerns about performance issues and understand that every user has unique needs and preferences, especially when it comes to DAWs. It's true that what might be a minor inconvenience for some can be a deal-breaker for others, depending on their specific use cases.
      As for the new features not being particularly impactful for you, that's a fair point. It's interesting to see how certain updates resonate differently with various users, from hobbyists to live players to studio professionals.
      I'm curious, what features or aspects do you find most important in a DAW for your hobbyist and live playing needs?

    • @synthplayer1563
      @synthplayer1563 Před 7 měsíci

      @@HagaiDavidoff I use Cubase to control my HW synths (and SW plugins) and to set them as needed to play a specific song. Total Recal of the entire playing environment is the keyword. Cubase is particularly bad here.
      It is also important to me that there are options to musical meaningfully change or supplement the MIDI data flow from the keyboard to the device. Luckily, Cubase still has some good MIDI things from the past.
      Then I definitely need a good sheet music editor, for example to convert MIDI files into meaningful, playable sheet music. The score editor is actually quite good and it is integrated into the DAW and not an external program.
      Another important use case for me is transcribing audio recordings. Cubase is quite good, but all the tempo mapping stuff is very difficult to use with a song played at a freer tempo. It's all set up more for idiotic DJ loops/beats at a fixed tempo. Simply try playing a song with a tempo map at half speed, to transcribe better. A nightmare.

    The problem is - these 'features' are not features. This should be an incremental update. A free one too. Look at the innovational stuff Bitwig is doing. Steinberg user since 1991 here. But they really lost touch with reality and with your customers. IMO. Im on 11 and will not upgrade.

    • @HagaiDavidoff
      @HagaiDavidoff  Před 7 měsíci +5

      Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and I appreciate your perspective as a long-time Steinberg user. I understand where you're coming from, and the debate between what constitutes a feature worthy of a paid upgrade versus an incremental update is indeed a valid one.
      While I respect your viewpoint, I'd like to offer a different angle. Steinberg's approach with Cubase 13, from my experience, includes enhancements and new capabilities that are designed to improve workflow and creativity. These updates may not seem revolutionary when compared to the strides a DAW like Bitwig is making, but they are evolutionary in a way that supports existing users' workflows and the robustness of the platform.
      I believe that the value of an upgrade sometimes transcends the list of features. Of course, the decision to upgrade is highly personal and depends on whether the new features align with one's individual needs and workflow.
      I hope this provides some clarity on why some of us are excited about Cubase 13 and consider it more than just an incremental update. It's always great to have a dialogue among passionate users, and your input is a valuable part of that conversation 🙏

      Some good points. Cubase user since 1989 (atari st days). I see what you're saying but Steinberg has been improving workflow since forever but you cant change the GUI with every update and charge people for it. I do like the channel strip being displayed on the left side. That will be useful. However i like to point out that 12 is still buggy yet Steinberg rather focus on a new version. For example, their crash system is still years behind the competition. Midi features are too (IMO). I dunno im still on 11 and having a stable platform is most important to me to get stuff done. I just dont see how these 'features' justify a whole new version. Maybe a 12.x upgrade for 50 bucks? @@HagaiDavidoff

      @buckycore Před 7 měsíci

      @@HagaiDavidoffI'm going to have to agree with the original poster..this alleged upgrade should have been an update for Cubase 12. These are nominal features, and they don't really address a whole lot of workflow enhancements. Everyone keeps saying about how these aren't meant to be about flashy features but behind the scenes upgrades. But that's what an update is vs an update: it's improving and the mechanics behind the scenes with a few little tidbits for improved workflow..that's what this Cubase 13 upgrade offers. I'm actually disappointed in Stienberg, as I came from Studio One, Bitwig and Reaper, where you'd see minor updates comparable to what I'm seeing here in Cubase, and then incredible updates in .5 versions. And the the next full upgrade provides a whole lot more to incentive the current user to want to update right away.
      And to be clear: I'm only a new guy on the block since version 12. But I've not seen this level of disappointment from 11 users going into 12 other than initial performance issues and the plugins which were removed due to parting ways with the plugin developers who made them.

      Sorry to hear that. It's likely you're experiencing a local issue that isn't widely recognized, because if every Mac user were affected, it would be more well-known. Hope you find a solution soon 🙏

      @@HagaiDavidoff issue was resolved by upgrading to macOS Sonoma 14.1. Steinberg does not officially support newest macOS but the issue was with Apple bug in 14.0. I got help on Steinberg forum.

    Please don´t lie to people. The best DAW is, by far, REAPER. Cubase don´t even come close. Were a Cubese user for lots of years and REAPER is way better, so please, is good, but not the best. i get it, you need money, but don´t lie.

      That's merely subjective. To me, best DAW is Studio One, I tried Reaper and just couldn't stand it
