This has honestly made my day, thanks so much guys. I’ll have to send in some more footage of me getting my head kicked in as I moved up categories 😬🤟

Not for nothing, but it looked like he was also handling the corners pretty well for a first time crit dude. Very impressive.

I can average about 12 mph on my trek marlin 4.

Some of Dan's speed readouts HAD to be wonky....like maintaining 35 MPH solo into a headwind. If not, he might as well skip the next steps and take on the Tour De France. Definitely impressive regardless.

I mean idk, 2nd place in a Crit is pretty insane for just going full gas the whole time... Also huge power move to attack the guy he broke away with lol

Horrible racing tactics, yet extremely fun watching Dan act like a boss. I would love to see more of Dan using his power profile with some good tactics

As a triathlete of 8 years, I'm learning to stay in the draft. Also trying to figure out when I should go because I don't have an impressive sprint.

Just for info - cat 4 crits like this one are the EASIEST crits we have in England. There is no cat 5. For someone trying to get into crit racing there are ridiculously high barriers to entry fitness wise!!! My FTP of 240 got me dropped after 1 lap in the last crit I did

as someone that raced triathlons and moved to crit racing, it took a while. power is not the issue, its the technical ability. cycling is so different to triathlon. triathlon is just a time trial with 3 sports, there is not racing. cycling is actual racing. why i switched after 30 or so races it became boring.

Dan.. Unleash Hell, when the time is right. The start of the race is never the right time. Insightful video as always! I feel sorry for anyone racing against Dan, even moreso when Dan gets more experienced, skilled, and patient in crits.

Coach: "So what you want to do is go hard for a lap and a half, then settle in and mark your competition. Take mental notes and cover attacks. Share work with others, steady rotation pacelines, don't forget to fuel.

A great to see some footage of a guy I follow. His bread and butter is the bike the man's a beast on it so not surprised at this at all.

It's not unusual for a trained athlete to show up to a race for the first time and demolish the field. I've seen this happen at collegiate races when triathletes from the same university showed up to the home race to race C or D categories and went solo from the flag drop. They also trained with us on Wednesday worlds, so they were just as strong as A or B riders. Still, and not to sound more discouraging, those power numbers and crit racing on a windy day are quite impressive. The weekly race series in Britain is fun!

That was awesome to see. Look forward to seeing him hitting Alviso and lapping the field. Some more experience and instead of dropping 1-2s at each corner on those behind I expect he'll be going solo yolo the whole time. He's got the legs and the pumper to whitewash the field.

I was laughing at the HULK SMASH tactics, and it all worked out! Great job Dan.
