In 1999, I had retired from the army in 1997 and was working as a nurse on death row. Blanche was a sweet and kind old lady and we talked every time I would bring medication to the ladies. One time we started talking about how I love banana pudding and she commented that if she ever got out, she would make me some banana pudding, as it was her specialty. I didn't think anything of it until long after I no longer worked there and did some research on her and discovered she poisoned all those men with arsenic she had placed in their banana pudding.

She reminds me of a case of a woman in Macon, Georgia who poisoned her two husbands, her mother-in-law, and her 9 year old daughter in the 1950s and 60s. She was poisoning them through food she would get from her family owned restaurant. But she got off and was sent to a psych hospital instead because the whole town knew her and her family. If this evil woman is still convicted and sitting on death row at the age of 89 then what is the excuse as to why Carolyn Bryant has not been arrested, tried, and convicted for lying on Emmett Till?

He ended up completely paralyzed for weeks. He's not among the fully recovered. His nerves still fire randomly. He's on permanent disability, as he'll be holding a hammer (he's a carpenter) and his hand will lock. And he'll be stuck holding it until the nerves & muscles finally relax, often it takes twenty to forty five minutes. It is life-changing, that's absolutely the truth. 💯%✓✓✓✓✓

My husband had Guillaine Barre syndrome in 1996. He was as fit as a fiddle then one day he had been fixing the roof on out hom d and said he felt weak. Next day he felt no better and went to see a doctor after I nagged him to do so. He said he suspected guillain barre but he wanted him to go into hospital but my hubby being the man said no ill go in if it gets worse. That night he was feeding the dogs and he just fell to the floor. He had no choice them he was taken by ambulance to the hospital where Guillain Barre was diagnosed. He had to have plasma transfusion to stop it getting any worse because he had already lost the use of his legs and arms. After a week he was sent to rehab to learn to walk again just 3 days later he was in intensive care with a pulmonary embolism. Luckily he came through that but it took another 3 months for him to be able to walk a very short distance but he had enough and wanted to come home. When he asked about it he was told it seems to develope after a virus. The nervous system starts to attack the myelin sheath.( the protective covering of the nerve endings) he was told 90% of people get over it without any side effects but the other 10% either die or are left with some problems. Well my hubby was one of the 10% that did not fully recover but thank god he did not die although it was a close call. My hubby had volunteered with the RSPCA an animal welfare society here in the UK. He had been helping cleaning the wild life affected by the recent oil disaster in 1996 and it was thought the chemicals from that could have caused it but basically it does not cause diarrhoea or intestinal problems or rashes. It developed after a virus. So I am surprised they found that diagnosis. I know even when my hubby had it that not much was known about it but we did a lot of research into the illness with a support group for the illness. To this day my hubby cannot stand still or he loses balance. If he stops he has to lean on something mostly me lol. But I am glad he is still here to tell the tale.
