    I bought the orange one and I love it. I have received so many compliments about this watch. It’s a watch that gets attention for sure. The reason I bought it was as a appreciation piece to celebrate me getting well after three years of illness and remind me to appreciate feeling well and that life is precious. That orange is a happy colour and makes me smile every time I look at it.

    That is an interesting watch, I really like the orange. I like the engraving on the rehaut, though on the blue it looks to be slightly misaligned. It reminds me of the rehaut on the Revelot Hexmariner you reviewed a while back.

    Oh, I've had an eye on this one too. When I was picking my Wife's present to me, (yes, I do my own shopping), I finally decided on the Direnzo Eclipse as my Swiss Watch choice. I don't know if I'll ever stop second guessing....but I don't think either is a bad choice when it comes to looks.

    Lovely watches. I have a Zelos Swordfish Field (purple dial Nebula) watch, bit smaller but very similar in terms of quality, finishing and bracelet (but not a butterfly clasp) and it's a great watch from a micro brand. Does have an NH38 movement which I find to be very accurate and much better than the NH35 (looks pretty smooth too in terms of sweep). Obviously not a Sellita but very good. I highly recommend this watch (they have different colours too) and Zelos generally. Great value for the money, I think. Thank you for a lovely video with great shots Dave.

    Gentlemen, please allow me an esoteric criticism. It is the seconds hand. Looking at this unit the outstanding feature is the dial. Well done Tuseno! You have achieved a beautiful design. This is quite an accomplishment in what is in reality just a small amount of real estate. So what could go wrong? The first and very minor issue is the Date. This is such a good dial that we do not want a distraction. More important is the seconds hand. Looked at in isolation it is perfectly good. But again; the dial is so damn brilliant that we do not want any distraction from it. I do like a seconds hand but in this case the overall aesthetic demands that the full beauty of the dial be unencumbered. This watch could have achieved near perfection with a - what is the adjective? - restrained seconds hand. A small seconds? no, that would require a subdial. An orange seconds hand? probably overdoing it. I think a stainless steel seconds hand without a tip would be just right. As an aside my position is that a seconds hand does not need to reach out to the seconds markers on the dial - especially with mechanical watches.

    At first glance, it looks very similar to a number of well done Citizens or Seikos outside of the round date window at the 6 o'clock position. But really, once I looked for more than a few seconds it was clear this was just better done all the way around and frankly, to get something this well done I would have expected it to be twice as much... especially with a swiss movement.

    I just purchased the blue Windseeker. Excellent review here- well done. The blue version is stunning and i am not aware of anything in this price range ($650 USD includes shipping and tax) that has these specs, this level of detail, and this level of finishing. There are a couple other options from legacy brands but they have aspects that don't work for me. Can't wait until it arrives!

    Dave do yourself a favour and save up for the Aqua Terra. It was my grail and I tried other ‘homages’ in an attempt to get the experience and none of them came close to the real thing in looks, feel and wearing experience…not to mention the money wasted along the way. I will never sell it unlike the other ones.

    The watch is quite lovely. I can't get past the curved striping on the watch face, though. And on orange, it just looks like a basketball.. :/
    I agree that the minute engravings are difficult to see. Even under your marco they are tiny! Some color fill would fix that.

    Dave, here's the issue I have watching your videos - they're dangerous. You introduce awesome micro brand watches, many of which I have never heard of, and after watching your videos, I want one. Hence, they are dangerous.

    I truly hope Tusenö sticks around. They seem to have a great designer amongst their ranks and hope they have success for many years to come.
    For me, I would take the orange for sure (Peter Cotsa had it on an orange strap and it looked fantastic!).
    I completely understand that the dark blue may be more versatile however. I must say that, instead of having a small cutout for the date, either have that opening larger or no date at all … You can confirm but I’m sure the date is not easy to see.
    In any case, great review! Thanks for sharing 🙂👍🏼

  • @SunsetSheen
    @SunsetSheen Před 6 měsíci +4

    Love the case shape and dial. Almost purchased the silver dial variant but the fact that the Tuseno didn’t include something as simple as half links stopped me. I understand they’re offering them on pre-order now, but it was kind of a huge oversight on their part to begin with. Also that date window execution is terrible and I couldn’t get over it. They should’ve gone with a no date design and it would’ve looked infinitely better.

    So Dave, if you had to choose between the Tusenö Windseeker and the Seiko 1959 Alpinist SPB249, which would it be and why?

    • @JusttheWatch
      @JusttheWatch  Před 6 měsíci +2

      Oh, that's a tough one, as the Seiko is probably my favorite watch in my collection. I'd probably go with the Seiko, largely because of Seiko's heritage and particularly that of the Alpinist. I also think the dial is nicer on the Alpinist, Seiko's pretty tough to beat in that regard. But I like the bracelet better on the Tuseno, which actually makes a big difference in how I feel about the watch. I enjoy the Tuseno on the bracelet, I don't like the Alpinist on it's bracelet, and on the bracelet the Tuseno becomes a much better option if I'm in a situation where I might go swimming. And I like the slimmer case (the Alpinist is pretty chubby at nearly 13mm), and while I like the design and dial of the Alpinist better, the Tuseno isn't far behind at all. I also think I prefer the SW200 in the Tuseno movement over the 6r35 in the Alpinist.

    I really think Butterfly clasp bracelets have run their course (too old school for me and I'm old) I've owned a lot of watches. I mean a lot! I can't say that I've ever had a watch with a butterfly clasp that impressed me, either in the way they look and definitely because of the lack of fit. Butterfly Clasps: You're Burnt! I'm done with you. But this Tuenso watch. I love it. A few more color ways a will really help this brand.

    They are making exactly the same mistake as the Aqua Terra did when it was first released. The date window is atrocious and Omega realised this and put a silver guard around their's and made it look 100% better on their New Aqua Terra. Also if you look at MIDO they have their date window elevated up off of the six indice. This watch previewed again has it sitting on top which spoils the aesthetics for me. At $650 US you would expect much better craftsmanship. I don't like the engravings either. No micro adjust. I like the orange but it looks like a pumpkin. All in all, it's a FLOP from me. I wouldn't buy it.

      Well, no. If you offered to give me the choice of the two, I'd obviously take the Omega. But if I'm spending my own money? I'd totally buy this, bank the $5k I'd save and probably never think of the Aqua Terra again.
