It really is a great add-on. It takes a little practice, and staying situationally aware without cheating and looking at Navigraph is really the challenging part. I can’t wait to fly it again tomorrow.

I am really excited for the 727 because I really enjoy this manual type of flying, but I am going to hold out for the passenger version (FSS was not sure if it would be a few update). A 727 with a Pan Am or old United livery (yes, OK, the shinny all aluminum American liveries were nice as well) is how I remember these beautiful iconic aircraft. Nice video.

Wow, that brought back memories. I, too, only crewed on it as FE, for 1 1/2 years, until I could hold a line on the MD80. I've forgotten, but it seemed like that trim wheel had been serviced with one too many cans of Red Bull. Good thing the manual trim handle was stowed. I found your autopilot use interesting, too. Most guys would hand fly it except in cruise, probably simpler. The landing was quite realistic😁 It's FedEx, no oxygen masks for me to re stow! I might buy this at some point but I'm having too much fun with the 777 right now.

So true. It is easier to hand fly than to constantly be tweaking the AP panel. The PMDG 777 is unreal! I'm doing these videos because my Discord is interested. I did the same thing with the MADDOG and A300-600. As a relatively new content creator I'm trying to be more than a one or two trick pony. I'll probably do 6 or 7 727-200 videos and then head back over to my crib!

Another great flight and really enjoyed it. Decades ago, I was at the CLE airshow and actually got to sit in captain's seat of a FedEx B 727-200F. When I sat in that seat it seemed to fit me like a glove. Everything seemed to be within easy reach. This may sound strange but while sitting in that seat the plane did not seem big anymore. I felt like I was sitting in a sportscar, if that makes any sense to you. Anyways it was a great thrill which I will never forget.

That is OK I like driving sports cars and would love to man the helm of a yacht. If it counts for anything I was a helmsman on a 754 ft ship weighing in at 49,600 tons powered by 4 GE LM 2500 gas turbine engines. Now that was fun.

@@Tinfoilhat1000 it really is, but once you put in a few flights and watch a few videos it all begins to come together. The key is learning to work the INS and the autopilot. Then it’s just working hard to stay situationally aware via the VOR and distance/time on the INS. It is almost identical to the KC-135 in the mid to late 80’s. In addition, you can file a SimBrief flight plan using each point on the SID and STAR and you’ll have the coordinates for each programmable waypoint right there on the flight plan. I’m going to do an FSIPanel JFK to BOS flight and do just that with the filed flight plan.

Hi Jeff, what a great flight, and you made it look so easy. In my sim FSX we had a developer called Captain Sim, not sure if you've come across them at all. They made great feature full aircraft, so much detail but got critisised all the time for their B777, B767 and B757, mainly following the profiles you set in the box, however their B707, B727, early B737, and Tristar were outstanding, especially their use of a working INS which years back was pretty impressive for flight sims then. A bit of a handful to fly but very rewarding. Mind if I ask but it's years since I flew them now, but when your INS is aligning can't you turn the setting knob to Time/Distance I think it is, and it tells you the count down to alignment, 5 being when the "green" ready light comes on, 6 being the least accuracy you could still navigate by? I love these older generation jets, I think it's because they are all different from what comes out today!
Oh did you manage to find my video? I tried another one today but Windows Movie Maker doesn't like MP4 files, so working on an alternative way to edit it. Anyway, all the very best and thanks so much for this brilliant video. Dave.

I just watched your "Miracle of the Hudson" video. What a thrill to fly that profile in a full-motion sim. You flew it very well. Your INS information really helps. Thank you.Once again you helped me out Dave. That's about the 20th time over the past 15 months or so! Captain Sim sure has fallen off. Their 777 and 767 products are awful. It's seems like their graphics department is fully staffed, but PMDG pouched their flight characteristics guys! Thanks again Dave! Jeff

@FatherTime1958 Hi Jeff, I'm glad you thought I did a pretty reasonable job of landing in the river, my instructor was brilliant, got to say. I just watched you Miracle on the Hudson video, very nice indeed. I'm not sure I had seen that one, how did it escape me? I read the Sully book, it's fascinating and I'm really pleased Tom Hanks refused to alter the story, good for him. Did you know, Clint Eastwood directed the film, I think he did a pretty good job too.
Oh thinking of trying out a INS flight next, you keep giving me all these great ideas.........I seem to have collected so many great aircraft in my hanger, I like things a bit qwerty to be honest. I get them up and back down in one piece, but not usually by the book, or checklist, although I do set up the weight and balance correctly. Got to give the plane a fighting chance of going upward. Anyway, time to get back to work, see you soon, thank and all the best Dave.
