Me too! I hate it when people show up early! I need Every. Single. Minute. of prep time. 😂 I had my family over for labor day last year and I didn't sit down until everyone had been there 2 hours. I feel that running around like crazy so much 😂

Yeah this is was a portrayal of vegans, not the vegetarians I know anyway.
All the vegetarians I know just show up with a really good macaroni and cheese casserole, or a fancy cheese spread, or good dessert. I don't mind the vegetarians coming to my BBQ.

We are having a small cookout today and I am basically Linda but also the grill master. Okay maybe not a MASTER but my husband doesn’t cook stuff on the grill so it’s my job LOL.
I did good though…lemonade: made. Lemonade ice cubes with mint leaves (because I’m Bougie): frozen. Banana pudding: done. Strawberries for the Angel food cake: sliced and sugared. Coleslaw: purchased (LOL) Watermelon: sliced. Corn on the cob: shucked (or husked depending on where you’re from). Burgers and dogs: ready to grill. Lawn: mowed. Weeds: whipped. Floors: vacuumed.
Just gotta head to church and get back before my mom inevitably arrives 30 minutes early

Frankly I wish more hosts would put me to work (even when I show up on time instead of early). They're working so hard to make a nice event for the guests, it feels really weird to me to just sit back and watch them not get to enjoy what they're making enjoyable for everyone else.
You forgot to add the dog dealing with the BBQ backlash hy cleaning up in a way guaranteed to put everyone off their food.

I tried being a vegetarian for a year when I was in my mid twenties and the day we decided (my partner and I) to eat meat again, I felt like a normal person again. That was almost 9 years ago. Never again

We have a Traeger pellet smoker and when he said "you want brisket we will be eating at 8pm" so so true, always tastes amazing but hubby likes to drag that smoke out because he loves smoking meat

When I invite people to my bbqs or get together, I always tell them, we don't vegetarian anything in my house! There will be sides that you can eat but we don't cater to the minority!

I'm telling you, if you grab a smaller, fresh picked eggplant, and throw it on hot coals until the skin chars, scoop that pulp out. Blend charred eggplant pulp puree with garlic, lemon, olive oil and some sesame ( not sunflower, sesame seeds) aka Tahini, whooo boy that is some excellent concoction called Baba ganoush and it is the bomb.

Definitely need my buns buttered and toasted. Seems so lackluster if not. Also, my flour tortillas lightly fried in corn oil. I will absolutely eat anything provided for me though. I just like a few things with a flavorful crisp.
