One of my favorite newer games that's come out in recent months - Battle Brothers! Join me in a viciously unforgiving turn based strategy game that really makes you think. Fantastic art style combined with a memorable soundtrack makes this game truly a gem for any strategy gamer.

Battle Brothers is a turn based tactical RPG which has you leading a mercenary company in a gritty, low-power, medieval fantasy world. You decide where to go, whom to hire or to fight, what contracts to take and how to train and equip your men in a procedurally generated open world campaign. Do you have what it takes to lead them through bloody battles and to victory?
The game consists of a strategic worldmap and a tactical combat layer. On the worldmap you can freely travel in order to take contracts that earn you good coin, find places worth looting, enemies worth pursuing or towns to resupply and hire men at. This is also where you manage, level up and equip your Battle Brothers. Once you engage a hostile party the game will switch to a tactical map where the actual fighting takes place as detailed turn based combat.
You know a BB expansion just came out when your old channel starts getting a bunch of comments on a dated series! Just a reminder to everyone that the game has changed a lot (like a lot lot) since this playthrough and many of the perks and strategies are probably completely outdated.
You should do another play through with the new DLC! Would love to see it!

Right? He's got all the right stuff and I'm so hard pressed to find out what to do with him. I'm leaning towards a mid to end game two hander right now, but he could be a beastial tank too. Oh the choices!

I'm an older gamer, so I'm no new comer to difficult games. But maybe I've got soft with all these modern spoon-feeding games . . . This game is hard core bros. After 40 some hours I think I've finally got a handle on how to survive past level 3 on Beginner. Cannot tell you how many times it took me by surprise and ended my mercs dreams summarily.

I have just discovered this game by chance yesterday and I bought it... It's amazing but it's also really hard and frustrating.. I wish there will be a sale so that I can buy their DLCs a little bit cheaper since I am really broke and can't afford them :(

Hey Skabs, super interesting game, also great lets play so far. I really wanna know how the game goes on after 2 episodes of watching. The NPCs in the combat are abit weird, but i think you can get used to it. They look more like Figurines than real humans, but its thrilling for sure, every round you never know if someone dies.
Your comment voice reminds me on the Fallout CZcamsr Oxhorn which i watch alot.

+Rodrigo Oliveira Cerci Thank you for he kind words! I camp now and then, but it isn't actually necessary. The brothers will carry out healing and repairs while on the move, but camping will speed up that process. Normally I'd rather be on the move because time is money in battle brothers.

I was always led to believe that opponent strength is based on renown, not party size
I *believe* it's a bit of both, but the devs haven't spelled anything out for us to my knowledge. It certainly seems to be the case in this series because I don't get to 12 for a little while and we're able to handle most encounters.
Skabs! Might be. I try to grab 12+ asap, usually while using any good trade routes there are on the map, building up cash and gear before taking on any quests and don't see any spikes of difficulty when getting the 12th brother.

I just bought this game the other day to see what it was like, the trailer and just the style gave me some Mount and blade vibes and I love Mount and Blade and overall I like the game but I just wish they didn't have the combat style they picked

Helô, i'm on veteran dificult and i want tô try expert. I come tô see How is. In the fight of 38:21 you do a big big big mistake, missclick, with that play you lose the hight ground. But is ok, every one do mistakes.
I have a problem with recrutment, i save the game, recruit every recruter on the twon and see How is good and reload and recrut only the goods. but i want tô see How someone plays on expert , How find good recruts ?
Finding good recruits is basically a matter of RNG. However good background brothers can more often be found in castles and cities, but they are still subject to RNG.

I once lost a 30 hour xcom save to data corruption and resolved to never make that mistake again in any other game. I just use the save system to make backups and start over manually if I lose.
