Very helpful to have the 3 way comparison like that. In many ways you confirmed I was right to get the Master, but I see how the Hero is still a solid proposition :)
I got C38 Hero too and it still a great for offroad trails
Such a nice hobby you found yourself!
Great review, thank you!
Great and thorough thoughts as usual, MB. Thanks. The consensus seems to be that the Hero is a good wheel. And not everyone wants to trade lightweight for long distance. A 100-pound wheel (Master Pro) is more than I would want. And yes, some of the suspension wheels do feel top-heavy and are like riding a pogo-stick. Going between a V11 and an RS (which I do) is a big adjustment. The V11 always feels way too high.
Thanks for this video. Hero is good wheel. Mine developed a mysterious issue by not balancing anymore...and after filming a tear down for this , it really is a painful wheel to work on. I agree with all your points though and imo if people can find a used one , i think they will be happy with this wheel. Great video quality by the way!
Thanks for the compliment and sorry to hear of your Hero problems.
wow!!! just wow!!! i'm speechless coming from some who has hero but got no time to ride. realy enjoyed it, now i have second thoughts selling it for the T4.
I've ridden the T4. I would never trade my (high torque) Hero for a T4. Not that the T4 is bad but it's a different class of wheel. If you're going to trade up, trade it for a Master.
@@ElectricUnicycles thanks for the advice, duly noted.
All I do is commute, so the best overall solution for my purposes was the V11.
Great wheel!
I love my hero, the only thing is I guess the new ones at least mine don’t come with the running light and that’s one of the best things I liked about it I was disappointed. Other than that I love my unicycle it’s awesome and I get a lot of compliments on it all the time 😎🇺🇸
Hi Marty, this is a bittersweet video for me because it made me miss my Hero so much. I agree with everything you said in it and it's interesting how it turned out to be better than the s22 in a number of respects. I replaced mine with a Master and right away I had to send the Master back for repair and I never had one problem with the Hero. Definitely well built. The only problem I had with it, and you mentioned it in this video, is the battery size and it just really wasn't enough for me. I just don't know if there's a place for it for me with having the Master too as they are so closely connected.
Hard to beat the Master. I'm just lucky to also have the Hero.
I think they phased it out instead of improving it further. Instead they are selling fragile/disposable wheels now like master and t4 cheaper to build and will not last long so they can sell new models faster... I was planing to buy the hero after v2 to avoid build issues I guess that wheel is gone. Thing is even parts are scarce and since few were sold it will be hard to salvage parts. Good luck to those that got them... I heard the handle switch mechanism when broken can disable the wheel and there is no parts for it...
Parts for all wheels can be problematic. It's an issue across all wheels. From my experience, wheels are extremely reliable (unless you do a lot a very hard riding) assuming it works when you first turn it on. I've owned 28-wheels and only a couple spontaneously failed, needing a new control board.
When is this coming out?
Interesting late posting.
The Hero looks like it has a nice area above the light to mount another light should one need to.
I only believe in having a single wheel for meeting all my needs, commute / trails. At the top of my list right now I am looking at the T4 ,500$ less then Hero,
Cheers
The T4 is a less powerful wheel and obviously smaller. I don't like 16-wheels now. But we all have different needs and likes/dislikes :-)
@@ElectricUnicycles I was hoping that the T4 perform like my MSP but with suspension.. everyone is saying the T4 is very nimble which what I'm looking for as one of the traits. Battery and motor power the same 👍
Cheers
I got an unrelated question, I see a lot of people wearing Leatt need pads, I have a pair of Fox knee and shin pads but they always are sliding down. Do the Leatt braces stay in place better? Thanks
For the dual axis, many people cross the middle and bottom straps. Also using a leg / knee sleeve gives the strap something to hold on to better. Or go with Mobius X8 knee braces which have a twist click system that grabs the back of the leg with an x-shaped silicone attachment that holds the braces in place
See my video which may help with your Fox: czcams.com/video/jeny6BKNWWs/video.html
@@TechMan042 thank you
@@ElectricUnicycles thank you
@@ChrisTorina1 The only thing about the leatt in my experience that the straps stretch over time. At first mine were tight but now they are sliding down alot. I haven't done the mod that techman mentioned.
I'm thinking about getting a veteran sherman to travel to town every day would you recommend any thing that would be better and more powerful
The Sherman Max is hard to beat as a general purpose do-it-all wheel. The upcoming (very soon) Sherman 'S' may be worthwhile waiting for because it looks to have all the advantages of the Sherman but with suspension. Once you start enjoying the benefits of suspension you will never want to go back.
Should I get the hero or the master, I live in Toronto and we have decent rain, this will be my main way of transportation, I am leaning towards the master but concerned about the rai, your advice will be much appreciated
In my opinion the Hero would serve you better. No EUC should be regularly ridden in rain unless additional steps are taken for waterproofing. For the Master, I carry a medium backpack rain cover which fits perfectly over the top of wheels such as the Master. There's not anything else you need to worry about. And the Master is much easier to maintain and work on.
@@ElectricUnicycles that's great!
I appreciate your advice, I will go for the master...gonna pick it up tomorrow
You can complain about Begode all day but these new "stock" spiked pedals are awesome. I hope these become the standard for all their wheels. Its a shame the T4 didn't get them. And the Mten4 got some lower tier spiked pedals.
I love the new Begode stock spiked pedals
Go George go released a video showing how hard this wheel is to repair…the build quality, while it looks nice from the outside, is still the horrendous begode standard inside. But I tried one and it did feel reallly nice riding.
Anything with plastic shells is likely to give you some hassle. I dread taking apart my inmotions still to this day but I had my master in pieces the first week 😄. I rode my V12 1500 miles and never once opened to check the screws. Maybe I should... But it rides perfect so I'll wait till that changes.
@@CrunchyTire hs or ht? If hs with the new board?
keeping it real with a model M 🙏
When was this video filmed?
As I said in the video, March 2022
@@ElectricUnicycles sorry for not paying attention...thank you
The PS2 style mechanical keyboard always impresses me.
Bought it in 1992 and I've been using it for 30-years now. These IBM keyboards were built like tanks.
@@ElectricUnicycles Nice, I used to work on/replace a lot of them back in the day
I disagree about the future and feel entry level non suspension or powerful light fun wheels like the RS HT will always be fun and always have a place, but obviously the fast motorcycle replacements need suspension to go highway speeds.
I understand. But then again how many motorcycles are sold without suspension. Or mountain bikes? We'll see who's right but I'm sticking with my prediction :-)
@@ElectricUnicycles Lol I actually just bought a Master and RS HT last month. I know Mike Leahy is sending the S22 but in my experience the suspension feels kind of unpredictable when jumping. There is something clean and flowy about non suspension for trail riding. I dont think one will replace the other. But maybe when suspension is implemented so well that it becomes more seamless.
The biggest question isn't about the wheel but it's how didn't those Millions of Mosquitos flying at your arm didn't bother you one bit or make shiver at least?!! 🤔🤔😑
Would be nice to actually see you use it

$3000 should be the top price on electric unicycles anymore is just crazy...
The only good thing about the s22 is the headlights...
In Metric SI all you need to know is 15, 25, 40 km/h....
Reguarding the s22 and not feeling confortable taking it on trips I think is a bit overblown by the people that ride and buy the s22. I am 6'4" tall and weigh 270ish lbs and I own a Batch 1 s22 and I have not had 1 thing wrong in 9 months now. I ride it hard but I dont beat it , I jump and ride 70% trail and atm it is my only wheel (ex30 is arriving in june) I feel like I hear this about the control board (then i see the s22 and it speaks for itself) and whenever I do there are always alot of ppl like me that NEVER had one thing go wrong. I would say youi have a more likely chance of having something go wrong on the begode wheels than on the s22 and I say this again b/c the people that usually buy s22's buy it to ride off road and jump and do technical stuff... How many people that u know that ride the wheel like you do that run into problems? Have you had any problems with your s22? Just my 2 cents from a rider that rides the s22 hard but doesnt abuse it and never had an issue with the batch one wheel. ^
Cheers
P.s. Have you rode the pro and the new 4000w motor, man if that doesnt change your mind about what u said in reguards to how zippy(torque) it is ... it will.
I own the S22 and love the wheel when I ride it. I personally know many people who have blown S22 control boards from both hard and easy riding. This is why I made the comment that I did. It wouldn't take very long on Facebook alone to find many instances of failed S22's.
I'm certainly not a KingSong hater (I've owned almost all of their wheels) but there's no denying (IMHO) that the S22 has a high failure rate.
I'm glad you haven't have any failures (I haven't either, other then the slider issues)
Marty, tu as juste à serrer les vis pour que la pédale tienne...J'ai la même roue. ;)
Yes, I said/showed that in the video :-)
@@ElectricUnicycles Oups sorry. 😅
2022... People aren't scared of being more stupid than ever
You wear your mask walking down the street alone in fear that the air might make you sick. I'll fly down the road having fun smiling and waving at you. We can both exist. I dont judge you(out loud anyway) 😆
Great wheel until you need to work on it. Worst wheel to work on out of all of them.
Have you ever worked on the V11 :-)
@@ElectricUnicycles Ha no but im guessing its just as bad! I just did what everyone else did and got a master and 3d printed my own pads and bumpers.
Almost had me Marty, but then I bought the Master Pro. Just placed my order today. instock now at Alienrides
I hate you
@@ElectricUnicycles 😅🤣🤣😂😁😁
The masters are awesome. I have the non pro model. I live on the third floor so thats more than enough weight for me. Gonna get shredded carrying that thing around every day 😆. I would tell you to get some 3d printed lift handles but I dont think you need to lift your wheels. Lifting from the front headlight is a BAD IDEA and how people are ripping the pads I think
Also start training yourself right away not to touch the seat area because your hand naturally gravitates toward the rear light and that is super fragile. But the wheel is awesome though, it rides seated so stable too. Once I dialed in the suspension for my weight its been great too, small jumps, stairs, no bottom out or topping out. You should also consider some type of cover for the shock because it gets dirty fast. I printed one from TPU and its been holding up great. Oh and also print an inner fender/mud guard. Lol. The thing needs some love but its great. And Im not just buyer trying to justify my own purchase, if It was shit I would say its shit. Im an inmotion guy but this thing rides like a dream. Inmotion is like driving your car with all the driver assists on, a predicable and muted experience. Begode is like turning all that stuff off and giving full control over to you. If you want to kill yourself on it, the begode will be happy to assit. l love that. Jumping my V12 I could feel it resist me when I landed like it knows better than I do and trying to slow me down. lol.
