The most interesting thing about Zaheer is just how easily Airbending came to him, and he became one of the best Airbenders in history despite being a rookie.
But, he's still a rookie, which you can see in his fight against Tenzin where he's completely outmatched.
I agree. I remember seeing them line up for the fight and thinking “Tenzin should win here” and he was stomping Zaheer before his help arrived. I thought it was really well done.
He's a talented rookie who read up on a LOT of airbending theory. That helped him learn skills much faster than anyone else.

@@elektrosonicthe reason why tenzin was able to properly have an advantage over zaheer vs everyone else struggling is because Zaheer was taking advantage of the fact no one knows how to fight an airbender.
When faced against an actual air bending master, he was completely outclassed
I love how the writer made him professional yet still a rookie.
He is the prove that makes me think the airbenders could've been the most powerful and dangerous people in the Avatar World
And also have no qualms to use airbending in a dishonorable way which goes against formal airbendering training.

Yup I remember the first time he bended the air out of the Earthqueen's lungs then prevented her from breathing in anymore air my jaw dropped to the ground.

I think we forgot to mention he did use air bending skill into one point of a glider to hit Kya when he was trying to escape from air temple island. It has never been to be used by airbenders. He hit Kya like using a airgun to hit someone.
If zaheer had mastered the complete air bending techniques in air temple then he would have been the strongest air bending master in the Avatar World
There is an ancient technique in Yoga probably a myth known as "Laghima" which allows the practitioner to achieve flight.
Kudos to writers to include these legends in the series!
laghima itself mean “absence of weight,” is the power to make the physical body so light that it is almost weightless and, some believe, could float in the air or levitate.

@@GodSmacK5181 Tenzin was already a master and his combat skill is aggresive instead of evasive like Aang. Also Tenzin feel a lot pressure growing up to be the only next generation airbender, imagine how hard he trained.
@@adisukmalinuhung2744 yeah, besides, he was willing to protect his family at all costs, so that's and extra weight on his shoulders but also an extra boost to his already aggressive style.
Also keep in mind this battle between Zaheer and Tenzin was the first time in generations that there was a battle between airbender VS airbender. That was impressive on both sides the battle lasted as long as it did.

Not really, he is my favorite villain of the 4, he is a challenging villain but he is not that powerfull compare to Amon. Honestly, if he didnt chained and posioned Korra, she would've have wiped him out.
I want to see how dangerous he was without his bending. Him fighting against benders in hand to hand combat would be 🔥🔥🔥
That would be something🌪🌪🌪. But he also had top level benders in his team that followed his leadership and strategies even if he didn’t have any bending ability at the time.
Dangerous enough that it required the entire first Team Avatar to take him down. It is possibly implied that Sokka died during this confrontation, since this is the last we hear of him.
If zaheer wasnt so put in with hia goals, he could have developed his airbending ways and keep the red lotus in the shadows to help from undercover while allowing the white lotus to help on the outside

Zaheer is the one that can gain his airbending tattoo and not just an arrow, but anything that he wants.
Fast Learning is one of his skills and probably root of why he can learn everything so quickly
Ozai was born into royalty with firebending and given full control over the Fire Nation, trained from top tutors and masters, given resources and all the military of the country. Lost in his battle with the Avatar
Zaheer had nothing, imprisoned for years, just acquired airbending and learned insanely quickly and lead a small team to fight the entire united world. He defeated the Avatar.

Hope they make a video about him, Mako is LOK underrated firebender. We all seen his boxing or kickboxing stlye is unlike the styles benders in ATLA but it's affective. Plus he's very skilled in lightning bending, able to generate and redirect. Maybe later on in future comics he will create new a fight style or techniques ( thanks to the shock of the spirit vines).
Asphyxiation has lesser lethal version but zaheer used the lethal

Well, there were the non bending Air Acolytes who were adopted into the Air Nation and at least 1 of them became an Airbender. Also, there is a theory that the new Airbenders in LOK are the descendants of Airbenders that survived the Fire Nation's attack on the 4 temples after Aang ran away and hid their powers to avoid being captured. Also, part of this theory says non bending characters in TLA like Ty Lee is 1 of these characters given the way she fights, and 1 of the Avatar comics gives this theory some credibility since the Fire Nation created fake Airbending sanctuaries to capture survivors.

Actually, Zaheer isn't the only one that used the asphyxiation technique. Gyatso also used a form of this technique when he was outnumbered in the temple so he took all the air out of the room and pretty much self-destructed taking all the firebenders in the room out too. (Theory)
I’ve heard of this theory somewhere and it’s honestly sounds really cool.
It's certainly the most plausible explanation considering there doesn't seem to be any physical damage to the bodies (burns and such)

I get that he's the villain because his mission and philosophy targeted our favorite characters... on the larger picture, once we, ahem, free ourselves from our earthly tethers a little bit, I think his anarchist philosophy and radical rejection of unjustifiable hierarchies is ultimately correct. I really cannot stop sympathizing with the Red Lotus' mission.

That describes the villains on this show in a nutshell.
the show undermines his philosophy because the creators ultimately don't agree with it and so show him going about it in the wrong ways, but yes. The fact that an unelected super powerful avatar not only exists but is the daughter of a powerful chief, and had personal ties to the police of a major city is obviously a recipe for oppression. Wish we had gotten more red lotus backstory and time spent with them.

The Avatar series is technically not anime. The characters were drawn in the anime style, but for anything to be considered anime, it would have to be made by a Japanese animation company that was initially made for Japanese speaking audiences before being dubbed into other languages.
The exception to this was when a Japanese animation company made the sequel “Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust”. It was animated with the English language in mind as the initial language.
