Thanks for concentrating on the standard edition, i.e. the one that most of us might buy, and then pointing out the deluxe edition changes. I wish all DT reviews would do this - there are too many that concentrate on the deluxe editions of games only.

One thing worth mentioning that wasn’t covered: there’s a neat “shoot the moon” aspect to collecting the neighborhood tokens where getting the fourth one makes the buildings in those color regions worth 4 instead of 6, but collecting additional tokens of that color places them on your portrait on your mat - and each of those tokens is worth 10.
Agreed with everyone here that this is a fantastic game with a lot of fun interaction at the table. Definitely one of my early favorites of the year so far.

He did cover it. Starting at 3 minutes. He mentioned 6 then pointed at 10.

A couple errors in the rules overview:
A new auction must be started on the central island or any previously built structure (not just your own).
You get one secret objective card (which is the same for all players, except it names a different color for each). You get also get three cards of which you will choose one to apply to your Wonder structure part way through the game. Zee made it sound like you get one of the Panorama Cards as a secret objective. The Panorama Cards introduce scoring criteria that vary game-to-game. Two are revealed at the beginning of the game and apply to all players.

I enjoyed it, pretty thinky trying to zone people out and setup combos where you automatically win bids in the late game when spaces are running low.

I’m currently obsessed with this game. I’m giving it a 9. I am interested in those other games Mike mentioned now though since I haven’t played most of those. I have played Ra, but the others I’m unfamiliar with.

This is an 8 for me. It's gorgeous, you're engaged every turn, you have a lot of options.
Honestly I only have one issue with the production - The bridges really struggled to stay aligned. Those bridges are important as they are considered adjacent, but even with the book's setup they just refused to do so. It's not a big deal, but given how long we waited, and with the Roxley pedigree, it was unfortunate to see. And I know I'm not the only one that has this issue.
It's not so difficult that I think a casual gamer would be overwhelmed, nor so mundane that a more avid gamer would get bored. Really the only people that I don't think would get enjoyment out of it would be super casual family gamers (i.e. grandma) and people who don't like bidding games. Though I think it's possible that a certain subset of anti-bidding gamers would like it given it feels less stressful than your normal auction game.

Agreed. Certain aspects were rushed. They spent so much time on the dumb paint wash that they didn't pay attention to basic details like color. For example, there's a green player but no green player card. There's a dark blue card and light blue or teal card as shown in the video. If they think that's green then they need to see an eye doctor.

I absolutely loved this game. A bidding game I actually really like. And it looks so good on the table.

I loved this game. I like the look of the deluxe version and it’s a great intro game.

It's interesting that the latest Flatout game (Cascadia, Calico, etc.), Nocturne is also coming out shortly, and it literally uses the exact same mechanisms.
