I used to be on the belal hate train but after his unfair treatment it’s made me appreciate him more, he’s earned his shot and to be honest when he wins the title a lot of people will be rallying behind him because we all know he deserves it

Call me crazy but I think Belal ain’t getting the title shot cuz he’s Palestinian. I believe Ari Emanuel is Jewish and he aint gona let that slide. We’ve seen so many people get underserved title shots (observe Steve Erceg vs Pantoja) so I feel like there’s more to it. People will say Belal is boring but there’s contenders that’ll make it more exciting ie Shavkat, JDM, Kamaru like it ain’t even bad.

Welterweight is in a good spot, and the only people that can mess it up is the UFC. Clear #1 contender in Belal, JDM and Shavkat want to fight each other. And it’s all on a close timeline if they put Leon vs Belal on London and JDM vs Shavkat in Perth. But watch the UFC fumble the bag.

I am no Belal fan at all. I think his fights are boring. But there's no doubt he is deserving of the shot. Khamzat hasn't earned a shot. he needs to stay in one weight class and get any passport/Visa issues worked out.

I am a DDP fan. But i think he will regret not fighting on 300 in the main event. Because this card will do very good numbers which he could have gotten pay per view points as the champ. But i do understand DDP wanting to be 100 percent because if u lose even in a close fight you may never get a rematch. Just look at Strickland who i think deserved a rematch before Izzy.

I watched Conor’s interview 2 years ago before porier fight he told Steven a smith he was going to beat porier then go for the belt against Olivera but now that makachev has the belt I assume if he beats chandler that will set him up for title fight against him at the end of the year if he keeps the belt. Then if he beats him for 155 belt I would love to see him try to go beat Leon Edward a for the 170 belt to be the first 2 and 3 division belt holder. Conor for sure has a chance to beat Leon not sure about makachev though that’s scarier then Leon imo

It’s crazy that people would be okay with the rightful contender getting passed up because he’s “boring” despite him having the best recent slew of victories against more people in the top 10 and top 5 then anyone else. If the ufc didn’t think he had a good shot they would have served him up on a platter for Leon. Since they know belal has a good shot they drag it out. Same thing they did to Dariush ufc is becoming more and more like the WWE by the month
Regardless of Ali Abdelaziz being Belal manager and the pull he’s got , the UFC knows how much of an absolute dud he is, in terms of entertainment and the list goes on in terms of exactly what the UFC does not want especially at the moment for a WW Champ. I actually did not mind Belal when he entered the UFC , he stayed in his lane and actually fought to finish fights most of time it appeared anyways now he’s done some camps with the Dagestani crew and all he’s become is a boring and corny character that nobody likes. Ali will gladly sacrifice Belal for so many others fighters that fans actually like watching and listening too. Just doesn’t have the package they want as a Champ
