Ham & White Bean Soup (My original recipe - I changed this one up a bit this time)
- 1 Lb. dry Great Northern beans
- 8 C. chicken broth
- 1 stalk celery
- 1/2 sweet onion
- 1/2 lb. chopped ham
- 2 chopped carrots
- 1 cup water
- to taste:
parsley
seasoned salt
onion powder
garlic powder
S&P

I'm sure you could add corn starch if you want it to be thicker! It would probably end up more like a stew. I simmered the beans first for about 2-3 hours, until they are tender. Then added the ham and carrots and simmered for another 30ish minutes, until the carrots were soft. 🙂 The cream goes in right at the end, or the cornstarch if that's what you choose. Just to clarify, I've never tried it with cornstarch, but I assume it would work... It will just be thicker. 💜
