Those who have been redeemed by the atoning work of Christ need never doubt God's ability to carry them all the way home. As J.I. Packer says, "Slippings and strayings there will be, no doubt, but the everlasting arms are beneath us; we shall be caught, rescued, restored. This is God's promise; this is how good he is.” So no matter how confused we may be, we can always sing with fresh faith, "Guide me, O my great Redeemer!"
