Since you have Starfire raising them, at least one should be named Raven, maybe you could do Robin for the other.
So so happy that these two made it and it is amazing that the parents think it is their own. So according to the info, even after the pink feathers appear, the parents won’t reject them since they look completely different in colors? I wonder if they just don’t know, don’t mind but know or they don’t overthink because it is like a production line that in 4 weeks or so, they are planning to raise the next clutch. How old are the parents by the way?
I am wondering if they can see the color pink or even notice they are a different color. The babies are feathering out now and should be feathered by 4 weeks. I will do an update video.
Beauty is 1.5 years and Starfire is around 4.
In general birds like to have a second clutch and may kick the babies out of the nest at 4 or 5 weeks. Their timing is off because Starfire laid on eggs for an extended time so it's possible she may abandon them earlier. Hopefully not and she finishes caring for them all the way though.
I also wonder if the babies will notice the parents colors. I will research on how birds see color. I know that they can see iridescent colors. Which budgies they see the spots on their cheeks. They see differently then us humans.
I am looking forward to your next update. This is a wonderful bird story and these two are the luckiest fellas.
