I'm trying to give my Canary-winged parakeets and my parrotlet fresh mealworms (canned, from Exotic Nutrition food), but they ignore mealworms so far.

Was that Bourke mother young / first time mother, was it a reason? Or it just happens and it's hard to know - why?

It was her first time that her eggs hatched. She has laid eggs before but did not hatch. She is 5. She was focused on incubating the eggs instead of feeding and keeping the babies warm.

Once the babies are grown, do you think their biological parents will recognize them? My assumption is not, but I didn't know if you knew from experience.
