Hello, you've been busy. Awesome stuff Dan, can't wait to see more
Still might add more championships to the later classes yet, just looking through some well-made mods and possibly updating the classes some :D
Can't believe how good it still looks
It certainly holds up well even to games like Automobilista that's for sure!
Hi, this was one of my fav games of all times, this game introduced me to simracing, after this game i started in online racing leagues of GTL, great times, amazing races.
Hello there! That's wonderful to hear! It's quite amazing that even a game that's almost 15 years old can still be as popular now as it was then!
And I agree, This game along with NR2003 is what truly gripped me into proper sim racing, and I've never looked back since!
Thank you for the lovely comment!
Game's running very smoothly. Looks great!
Thanks! fingers crossed as the grid increases it stays just as smooth!
Excited for the next episode! :D
Thank you very much! :D
Finally tried this game after all the years. I crushed the AI in the first race but stood no chance in Anderstorp. The AI went through the banked turns insanely fast, I just didn't have the grip to do the same. I was consistently 2s slower per lap.
That's another reason why I dislike Anderstorp, the AI there are utterly ruthless and take corners way too bloody quick, especially turn one going onto the backstraight, And yet, other tracks they're as dumb as bricks! There doesn't seem to be an in-between when it comes to balance. Still a great game though :D
Well this was sooner then I expected
I got a bit bored recording the same ol' stuff as of late, so it's a nice welcome change :P
There is a fix for the light glitching, kinda complex and a little time consuming (especially if for TV cams).
From what I seen it's only in-car you get the flickering, no idea how to sort it though
Get your hands on Sports Cars GT mate, great game, still surprised that was made by EA back in the 90's
Yep I've got the PSX version, I do plan on making a series on that soon, got so many good games lined up, even non racing stuff :D
@@Dan-Bartlett That same version Ive playing, got very challenging at high class levels, GT1 class is no walk in the park
xpadder will sort your issues with the shifter, may i ask what you have your wheel rotation set at in your wheel driver and what the sterring lock is set at in your pit set up screen thanks
Thanks for the tips! I have the rotation set to 240, I couldn't find anywhere in the game files to allow 900. As for the lock in the garage I just leave it as default, don't want too much of an advantage against the AI so gives me more of a challenge :D
Nani?! You have a discord server? Is this game playable on a controller, was thinking of picking it up but I don't have a wheel. Also nice Indianapolis joke lol.
Haha yep the link is on the main page on the banner, and this game is perfectly playable with a controller. Handles exceptionally well with the ol' 360 controller!
Summer sales will be starting on the 23rd on Steam, I think, so you can pick it up for literally pennies, well worth it, and GTR2!
“Indianapolis 2005: Mini Edition” oh no. Please, no exploding tires.
Haha thankfully tyres can't deflate in this game, not that I'm aware of!
Where did you download the mods you have for the game? Ever since NoGripRacing shut down around a year ago, I haven’t been able to find many good quality mods.
I got them mostly from RadeDepartment and www.altbierbude.de/ they have a section purely for GTL, hundreds of mods, skins and tracks!
Mushy Also quick question. How do you add custom championships into each of the 5 cup stages? I’ve figured how to add tracks and change the lap count however, I have no clue on how you’re meant to make a custom one.
@@nearlyabsolutelybonkers It's actually really simple, if you have discord I certainly don't mind walking you through it, if you want?
Mushy I can do that. Where do I go on Discord then?
@@nearlyabsolutelybonkers On my channel main page, on the banner there's a link directly to my server, click on that and it'll let you join my server, once in I'll walk you through the process on setting up custom championships
H shifter with manual clutch makes some of these cars undrivable and the reason why it's no longer in rotation.
Yeah that's true, some are bloody awful with the shifter but there's some really fun choices, the Mini and Abarth especially. It's still a bit naff the game doesn't recognise 5th and 6th gear on modern systems/wheels. Still a wonderfully classic game though :D
@@Dan-Bartlett Yes the 'beginner' cars are O.K. but I tried to get to grips with the 'hardest' car to drive 'Shelby Cobra' and the physics have the car swapping ends as soon as you lift off the gas to apply any brake.
These days I stick to Assetto Corsa.
@@Dan-Bartlett It' not GT Legends, as with the Logitech G27 I could map 6 gears. So it's Logitech software.
@@markcasey6358 Never said it was GT Legends, hence I said 'newer systems/wheels' I use a G29, its a common issue that more modern peripherals don't work as well as one would hope. The fact it works at all with a 17-year-old game is amazing in itself. I know a few newer titles that won't recognise the G29 at all
@@Dan-Bartlett I'm also using a G29 since the G27 carked it. Now I am limited to 4 speed shifter compared to the G27's 6. So in this case it's due to Logitech and not GT Legends being an old game.
Hey, what is a good source of add-ons, especially tracks?
Hello! I get all my mods for this series from www.altbierbude.de/ they have a metric tonne of tracks and mods, and some are exceptionally good! There's a few on RaceDepartment but I find some of those are half-assed
Are you use gaming wheel or Controller?
I use a Logitech G29, but a run-of-the-mill 360 controller works just as well
What mic do you use?
I use a Blue Yeti USB mic
You using the Brickyard Legends mods?
Nope, but I'm using some other very good mods, most won't appear until the E class races though!
10th Anniversary mod installed?
Nope, just the basic game, I'll be testing out the mod once the main series is complete :D
Its possible play this game on keyboard?
It is but I would recommend at least a controller if anything, keyboard would be way too twitchy
@@Dan-Bartlett ok thanks man :)
@@branco33 No worries dude! :D
Hi, great stuff, enjoyed watching it :) could you help me out to set up my championships to look like yours? additional tracks and cars? :) thanks!
'ello! I have made a how-to on adding custom championships here: czcams.com/video/LHdKYR67L-g/video.html
hope it helps!
@@Dan-Bartlett superb :) I intend to change things up a bit as soon as I'll finish vanilla version. Bought TMX Force Feedback Thrustmaster wheel yesterday, I am 5 sec slower than minis in first race ;D do you have a video how to set up a wheel to get the most of it? Config in game files change or just some options in main menu? Would appreciate since it is hard to me find any solid info in internet.
You drive your cars with such ease , I am really impressed;) would love to achieve this level one day.
@@Stricken145 I didn't really set much up with the wheel, but one thing that needs to be set is the wheel rotation. Set that at 270 degrees of rotation. The earlier Simbin games were limited to no more than that. If you use any higher - 900 degrees as an example - the steering becomes incredibly sluggish and the in-game wheel never matches your input. So 270 matches in-game wheel rotation and is the max the game uses. Other than that keybindings are user-preference and force feedback I keep around 50% to avoid the rattling from gear-driven wheels :D
