Pop the top. Heat lamp up untill it is flowing. Dump it all into a 5 gallon bucket, be careful not to dump the metal coils. Use your sink sprayer, and with the water as hot as possible, spray out the inside real good. Pull the coils out and clean them with hot water. Do not use any soap at any time. Create a mixture of about 3 cups of water and 20 ml of surficant, easily pour down side of globe and while holding the globe on it's side rotate it so that the entire inside is coated with the surficant mixture. Do not shake the globe in such a way as to create bubbles. Dump surficant mixture. Place empty, coated globe back on base with bulb off. Put coils back in lamp. Heat the goo kit wax (microwave one minute at a time with lid off until entirely melted) and funnel it into the globe. Let cool. Add distilled (only distilled) water and 55 ml of surficant. Wait until it is flowing. Add a tiny tiny tiny bit of dye, then wait a bit, add more dye until desired color. Too much dye = ruined. After desired color turn off and re cap the top while it is cooling. Let cool. Move to desired location. Enjoy.
Thanks so much for the response! I have 2 more questions if you don't mind... When pouring the wax in, do you use anything to prevent spatter? I know that the full kit comes with a special straw, but I want to try doing it with just goo and surfactant and maybe a dye. Do you use the goo kit dyes or mix your own? I really like the pastel green one, what did you use for that? Again thank you!
You need a funnel and a long tube to prevent splatter. Like the one included in their kit. You could probably rig something with a funnel from an auto parts store and some rigid tube. I use their Goo dye. I don't remember what I used for any non standard colors. When you mix the dyes you get unexpected results sometimes.

I used only distilled water I put about 70 millilitres of the included surf in...and nothing. So I tried Propylene Glycol, then salt. Salt clouded the lamp. What was your method!??
Just curious do you do any commission work on custom Grande's like in your video? Interested on buying one from you and I have some empty grande bottles If so.
