    What the hell is up with manufacturing in India where the end product always seems to just get thrown on the floor?

    How do they know that coating is perfect. If there is some impurity in the plastic used the isolation (1,000VAC minimum for low voltage gear) can not be achieved. I think this cable used in the places where human lives don't matter.

      This is light industrial work and with time, the company could generate revunue that can be invested in modern machinery. What you guys in the west dont understand is, rome was not build in a day.

      @@sevenscounty409 I am from Turkey, not from a western country. I am an old electrical engineer more than 45 years of experience. And believe me a simple isolation test device can be built to less than 1000 USD. I think a human life is much too valuable .

      @Seff2 Před 2 lety +2

      @@oilbay54 Probably even less... basically they would just need a big pot of water and a cheap 20$ Multimeter. Then put the cable in the water, but not the ends. Connect one terminal of the multimeter to then end of the cable (the copper part of course) and the other in the water. Then measure the resistance. If there is not basically infinit resistance the cable is not safe.

    • @oilbay54
      @oilbay54 Před 2 lety +2

      @@Seff2 Best method is this: take a big plastic barrel. Put salty water in it. Immerse the cable inside the water with the terminals out of the water. Scrape both ends of the cable and connect by twisting. Then an analog miliampermeter, a 220V/2000V step up transformer and a variable transformer. One terminal of the 2000V transformer is to cable, one is to the water. Slowly increase the voltage whichever voltage you need. And wiat for 1 minute. If the isolation is good then no problem.
      I was producing power capacitors for low voltage. I used to check the isolation of the capacitors inside the cables with this method. It cost me around 400USD

      I am from this country. These unbranded wires may be used by bargain hunters or the poor - not that it makes it alright. There are enough good brands with required certification. We have wire ads on TV as well explaining what bad wires can do to you. So people and contractors generally just stick to the good brands.
