      they cut whole copper rods down to size, then it goes to a strander, after it's stranded it goes to a extruder which puts the jacket over the wire.

      It conducts light. So it's a conductor. But you are right about conductors conducting electric loads.

    @6:27 holy crap. Why does telecommunications need so many pairs? How does anyone keep track of that many cables when hooking it up? Also, how expensive is this cable?!

      where i work, it'll be around 12,000 for 5,000 feet. it's fiber, shits expensive haha!
