How come the infotainment screen is so nice and is different from those I saw it in used car 2017 to 2019 version?

They were updated in 2019, honestly the little hard buttons that you press and the knob to change the volume are much nicer than tapping honestly I think there isn’t really much of a difference other than the buttons and no knob

Test drove both the passat comfortline 1.8 and elegance 2.0. Feel that the comfortline acceleration and steering are much lighter and more fun to drive. Don't feel that you are driving a big and clumsy car as car weight reduced to 1.4 ton, same as my old jetta.
So I ended up buying a 2019 comfortline instead of the new passat elegance. Cheers.

like you my current ride is the Jetta, I am really considering the passat are there any known issues with these 1.8tsi to be honest I've look around the web and cant find any.

I only have my passat for 2 weeks and i love it. Though it uses a dry dsg, my jetta also uses dry dsg which lasted 7 years with no problem except for sensors and abs. Passat is a common car in europe without major problem as they used automatic gear.
If you can get a 2019 passat 1.8 at Rm 90k as advertised in the web, that is already a good buffer in case of repair. Anyway vw repairs are less than half if done by outside workshop using recon or oem parts. You can also buy extended warranty for passat at Rm 2500 per year. Cheers.

2019 passat still has warranty up till 2024. If still worried, vw can do complete vehicle check for Rm 250, less if outside workshop. Luckily my passat mileage only 5k.
But need to worry car damaged by flood. Cheers.
