Hey Trevor, this comment is for you. Big respect for the amount of time you spent running behind vehicles and up hills to get us those shots. Thanks!
Thanks for the comment Steve!
@@trevortripsalot And! You didn't fall down! lol Thumbs up! You need to rig all Matts vehicles in secret to have more fuel than he sees.
I'll second that! What a truly cool crew.
Dude is an iron man in disguise .
@@trevortripsalot YESSIR you absolutely ROCK!!!
Maybe stick a big note to the windshield that reads "GET FUEL" LOL
Good idea, break that spell on him!
I like how when Lizzy needed more traction backing up that hill, Matt selflessly threw himself into the wheel rut in order to help with traction. jk, hope you are ok Matt.
LMAO
Yup, a mere coat for the lady wouldn't have been enough in that situation. LOL
Stright up just good ppl, the fact you didn’t edit out the strap breaking was awesome, we learn everyday no matter our age. Keep up the good work y’all
You know it’s cold when Matt actually has on a jacket!
Edit: tucker did a good job with that screen effect when Trevor yelled lmao
The fact that Matt feels confident enough take just Lizzie (and Trevor) to help with a recovery says a lot about how good she has gotten at this. And it shows. She crushed that front dig. Great job guys and gals.
She is a pro now!
She is young, but she does this every day.
Matt can do this all by himself. He used to just prop up his phone somewhere and get to work.
@@FransBlaas1 I hope that first part of ur statement is a joke lol
@@FransBlaas1 I agree majority of the comments on every video are about Lizzy people are weird.

Nice recovery.
That fall would put my old self down for a week.

Tire chains are the answer when wheel speed does not work . Yes I am Canadian and I love your channel and your crew. Anyone criticizing Matt’s driving skills makes me laugh. He is a extremely skilled off road driver and has done a great job teaching his staff. This is by far and away the best program on you tube in my humble opinion.
Two words. Tire chains
Wondered myself if he has a set of chains for those massive tires. Airing down isn’t so good on icy stuff.
@@russbell6418it likely wouldn't even be once a year that those tire chains would get used, so I highly doubt they have a set anywhere

It wouldn't be a proper MORR snow recovery without at least one spill. Thanks for handling that, Matt.
Amazingly enough Trevor stayed upright on this one. But, Matt’s fall was epic! I’m so glad Trevor caught it on camera.
Beautiful driving Lizzie.
Matt just admitted it, Lizzy is the daughter that you always wanted. She had learned fast and is just as good as Rudy, Lizzy you deserve credit from this fan base .from Texas 🤠👍🤠👍🤠👍🤠👍😎👍you re doing a great job...great job Matt.

Lol ! Matt pulled a Trevor ! Good thing he survived it . I have always heard that it's all fun and games until someone gets hurt, and then it's hilarious 😂!
Hats off to Lizzy for the pivot maneuver. I've done that plowing snow. I didn't make it all the way up a driveway, skid down backwards off the side of the driveway, and pivoted like that off a rock and drove back down.
I’m sorry but I laughed so hard when u biffed it walking down the hill! I’ve done it myself b4 lol
Matt that slip and fall was epic! I could almost feel the pain.
Isn't that Trevor his job?
I have not seen Ol Ed lately. I hope that he is healthy, and we all want to see him get the nugget back.
He is probably on one of his adventures and will be back once weather is better.
@@MindBlowerWTF good point, the guy still gets around.
I KNEW the Tacoma was gonna get stuck after the first pullout..So glad to see Matt in a Jacket in snow, instead of his customary short sleeve uniform...GOOD JOB MATT.!
Hey Lizzie. Here in Alberta ,Canada , we don't really pack our winter gear away for the summer. We may relegate it to a basement closet or something like that, But we can grab it all in about 5 minutes if needed (hopefully never until next winter.
As a prime example for me my, i'm going to call it a winter coat (It's a heavy jacket I got from giant tiger) has always been in the same spot. Hanging on a useless TV in my bedroom so that when it gets cold enough to adjustify wearing it, I just grab it
I love that Matt is instructing Lizzie on how to perform different off-road techniques. 8:14 It'll give her some useful tools to have for when she finds herself out on a trail without Matt or by herself.
Or if she's just driving a vehicle on a ranch, like I suspect she's done many times now
Matt goes all Trevor on us. Thanks for sharing the awesome and the pit falls.
"....so I need an intervention...". No truer words were ever spoken...
Hope you’re feeling ok after that slip, Matt! Great recovery and you blew my mind with the little education on “torpor” at the end!
I know, right!
Nat. Geo paying off.
Matt's impersonation of Trevor, was classic. That could have been hard on the bones. I think the "rear dig", may have softened the landing some though. 😎
Lizzie does good work, she just needs to learn the 'wheel speed' technique from Matt 😁
He did stick the landing for a solid 4.9 from the East German judge.
You need to work up the confidence to fly up a very slippery hill.
Damn Matt, my teeth rattled when you hit the ground! Bet you felt that the next day. Great seeing Lizzy driving and gaining confidence.
Yeah my rib cage hurt!!!
Trevor says, "Thanks for falling so I didn't have to". Lizzy does a 'front dig', Matt doesn't run out of gas, Wheel speed matters, the strap takes one for the team and the Morrvair gets 'em out! And the best part? Ice Cream of course.
Great video Matt, I love how you always go the extra mile, (literally), and do whatever it takes. never get upset or berate someone and ALWAYS take care of your crew. God Bless you Big Guy, and the rest of the crew as well.
Matt is so very quick off his feet ! 9:35 and he taught us what hummingbirds do at night...Thanks Matt and crew...
Ummm yup ! That was an awesome job getting the truck maneuvered and stuck in that awkward position ! LOL
We always hear "stay clear of the winch line" and they "NEVER" snap, that's why when they do people get hurt when they do. Always respect your equipment! !! !!!
Matt,Trevor and Lizzie. My name is Joe from Alabama. I had pleasure of meeting y’all in Tropic, Utah at a gas station / food place. It was later in the day and y’all were returning from up near Boulder area. Yall looked tired but we’re gracious enough to talk with me and agreed to a picture that Trevor so kindly took. I was wondering if this recovery video was the work you did that day. No wonder y’all looked tired. Either way, it was a pleasure speaking with y’all that day.
First off I hope Matt is ok after his untimely fall (Great job Trevor capturing that on camera 😂). The strap breaking was most definitely the tree's fault. Matt needs signs posted in all his vehicles that says "Gas is a necessity, I cannot live on oil alone." 🤣

Was the camera shaking when Trevor yelled 'Lizzie!" and effect or real shaking? Two thumbs up either way. A recovery with a solid non-injurious - nice! My main question is how on earth did that guy get that Tacoma situated like that? Great work and content as always.
It was an effect
There may have been more snow when they got stuck. Sometimes it’s hard to see where the trail is and drop off the edge. Then once on the hillside basically anything you do makes it slide down more.
Sometimes it’s best to stop while you’re only a little stuck. And, even a hand winch can be really handy sometimes.
he said LIZZAY
You're not supposed to ask; it's kind of like a women's age.
Tucker skills
My favorite part of these is when Matt does the first assessment of the situation and makes a plan!

The camera shake when Trevor hollers LIZZY!! is GOLD!!! 🤣🤣
The Morrvair is the new General Lee!!!! Love that build, can't wait to see the tow truck done.
I’m wise to you Matt!
You ride around wherever you like with your friends in the gnarliest places, never having to worry about getting stuck anywhere. If you’re not off-roading, you’re playing with your toys.
What a Lifestyle.
Ouch Matt!! Right on the back and bum! I’ve been there, just never caught it on video 😂
After 9:35 it was all down hill, better to fall on snow at an angle then on a flat sidewalk, when your feet fly forward tilt your head forward and throw your arms over your head, not down, like you are trying to touch a wall behind you, this will curve your back and if anything is behind you, like the ground or a tree or rock you hands will stop your head or shoulder from being first contact,. They have an exercise in Aikido where you fall back with a wall about 3 ft behind you just to practice this. . Brings to mind "The Karma Boat, no paddles needed, just the desire to float." The best medicine is to laugh cause dignity runs faster than ones feet. You are my hero Matt.
Thanks for always, being yourselves! You guys are a team that definitely show's, how much Matt Care's about his family, and the way he treats his working family!! Your a good man Matt! Thanks for all you do

This was a fun-filled episode! Lizzy’s fancy driving was pretty cool!
Matt whoever from Canada that said wheel speed doesn’t work, couldn’t have been a real Canadian. Did recoveries and towing for 17 yeas before I broke my back and found wheel speed always worked. Love your channel and the great things your family does for people. Keep up the great videos.
Fuckin rights bud. If you’re not buried right down to the frame, she’s comin out when the speedo hits 3 digits.
But how's the back now?
@@webfreakz not good, I’m now 70 years old, look 50 but the older you get the harder it is to heal properly. Plus I keep trying to do what a 30 year old would do.
@@bobcats905 all right, all the best!
The reason some people say that is because they are talking about 2wd and/or all seasons which do better at compacting/sticking to snow rather than spinning tires and turning it to ice. If you have tires that are mud terrains or all terrains they typically don't stick to snow as well and are better at spinning to get traction. It's all play 'er by ear when it comes to snow, whether it is powdered to sticky, and what tires you have.
I DIED LAUGHING FOR 5 MINUTES AND REPLAYED IT 35X WHEN HE SAID "HOLD ON MY BONES ARE GOING BACK INTO POSITION" AWESOME WORK
Ok if I’ve got this right Lizzie barrel races horses. I think I saw mention of that in a previous video. This is why she can sleep in the back seat or probably anywhere. If you’ve ever been on the Rodeo trail you learn to do this. I grew up with a dad that rode bulls and then we had a whole pen of bucking bulls. We stayed out on the road. My wife can’t believe the places I can fall asleep. I’ve feel asleep in rigging bags behind the chutes with bulls blowing on me as a kid. You guys do a great job.
Out of all the falls on this channel Matt has had the best one of them all.
Tucker fixes up a pretty good edit. Good job Tucker 👍
Matt im glad you didnt get hurt on that slip. That said that was an awesome slip! You nailed that!!
Matt wins the "hardest fall - jaw popper" award! He tried to play it off, but experience tells me he was super sore the next morning! Great video and once again, Lizzy is a top hand!
Gravity sucks...
Nice front dig Lizzy. I learnt what a front dig is from watching Rory do it and explain it. It's helped me out of some tight jams. And Matt that was unexpected usually its Trevor falling over in the snow lol great vid guys
Love a good snow recovery! Bonus points for saving the tree!
Matt, I'm a Canadian and I say the same thing as you. Lots of wheel speed. Melt the snow and ice to get to the dirt underneath and you'll get traction. I've done it a few times.
I like how Lizzy came prepared with a pillow. All she needs is a blanket. Reminds me of my days back in school. I drive SUVs, so I get to school early enough, I would just fold down the back seats and go right back to bed, blankets and pillow and all.
The secret to matt's success is his uncanny ability to stay calm .great content as always .cheers from Cairns Queensland Australia 🇦🇺

He's in his element.

honestly its a learned skill to supress that adrenaline, being panicky and jittery makes things worse in a high pressure situation so being able to like sidestep the adrenaline running in just keeps you safe, the fight or flight response doesnt work well in the modern world
i love the way lizzy gets her beauty sleep under any conditions
I agree with Matt and Jefe. Lizzie sleeps better on a dusty, gravel road than anywhere else!
Excellent winching skills. Nice swan dive in the snow!! I am a active member of a 4x4 drive club in Colorado. I have always used a strap for pulling people out. Sounds like Matt's Recovery Rope is the way to go. We constantly have to pull people out this time of year because of people testing how far they can go on the snow line. The Recovery Rope would definitely help us out in these situations. Could you help the High Country Four Wheeler's out ? We don't charge for these situations. We are just glad to help out fellow 4wheelers out of a bad situation.
"I don't even get a rush out of running out of fuel" 😂 at this point that doesn't even surprise me
You really can’t have a trailer park without chickens 🐓
Wheel speed is right on. Live in Minnesota and when it snows, the traction control is off on my Jeep, drives me nuts when its enabled. There are times when you have to be able to spin the wheels. Well done
When Matt said I'll trade you, didn't think he meant Trevor!!
Great job!
Lizzie reminds me of my daughter, who was in the military, 5 minutes of no activity means nap time. I love it!
As a Canadian whom works in the harshest road conditions I can say spinning the tires doesn't usually work.
However the increased momentum like Matt dud usually does.
However spinning the tires will decrease your turning radius, which of course allowed them to easily turn around on a narrow road.
Another great episode. Matt, you did the Trevor so hard, I hurt!
This series always has a positive attitude not only with the staff but with the customer. They leave the customer with lessons in what a positive attitude can accomplish. They do that by having many solutions in the basket, like a good military commander. Straight ahead all the time is rife with failure.
Big drive from Hurricane all the way (up Hwy 89) then onto (Hwy 12) Red Canyon, past Bryce Canyon (turnoff), Tropic, Escalante & then Boulder. A full day and the iconic recovery crew in SW Utah to the rescue. Matt calm as could be, fixes ropes, straps and lines to pull the front and back out of the "problem". The customer hopefully thanked them profusely; then the slip on the video & the excellent camera shots; & then the long drive back home. Amazing. Can't understand why someone from Escalante, Panguitch, Cedar City, doesn't have the rigs or skill to pull off the recovery in the hills & snow. Matt with his experience, presses on, and before you know it, the vehicle is free and down & out of the problem "route". What a service, having competent & talented people around & then getting a close up film show re the whole production. Impressive.
I think that was more ground speed/momentum vs wheel speed. When I hear wheel speed I'm usually picturing somebody spinning tires instead of trying to crawl. Certainly momentum has it's place and so can wheel speed in snow/mud/sand but equally there are times when ultra low gearing and letting the tire barely turn will help get you on top of deep snow. It's all a matter of reading the conditions and reacting appropriately.
First, i love watching Matt figure his way out of a recovery as circumstances change. Masterful. Second, Matt has now gained entry to the Trevor club! Great video guys!
It never ceases to amaze me just how many people you rescue who go off-road alone. Have they no common sense? Cardinal rule of Scouting is that you NEVER hike alone, and yet... Oh, well. As has been said, sometimes you just can't fix stupid. The good news (if it can be called such) is that 'stupid' keeps you in business. Love your videos and work!
This is a classic example of true professionals at work.. a real pleasure to watch.. 😎
Dan is one calm individual. Strong enough to pick up a Tacoma and drop it in a ditch, too.
Maybe by saying “I’m Matt, and I’m a low fuel aholic “ could avoid the “intervention”. Always great videos. The breaking of strap and watching why it’s very important to stay out of the “death triangle” when winching should help others to be safer.
Matt has commented on the "triangle of death" before. Apparently, with the synthetic (non-metal wire) ropes, the danger is drastically reduced.
Now that was funny!
Definitely stay out of the death triangle...don't they still make those safety Dampener blanket covers for winch lines that help mitigate that exact danger?
I'm surprised he used a chain in the first place, even though that isn't what failed.
Ohh mann that was a nasty spill Matt! Glad you laughed it off though. Good job on the whole team 👍 That feller ought to invest in a winch
MORR at it's best Matt with the plan Lizzy in customer's vehicle & Trevor on video getting in his cardio great recovery ya'll thank's for sharing 😉👍
Perhaps the closest call I ever had with getting severely hurt was with a nylon strap breaking in almost the same exact situation that you had with your blue strap. That is way I now have a overly strong nylon choker that I always carry with me.
That was one impressive fall at 9.38 but nearly impressive as your camera man who managed to capture it as it happened. Give that man a raise!
That folks is why you stay out of the triangle. A broken rope, chain, strap, etc. could ruin your day. Matt that was a brutal fall, glad you're OK. As an older person I can attest falling is much harder than when young. Great job all around guys, everyone deserves ice cream after that. Enjoy your videos! Stay safe and GOD bless
Just got caught up from the past week then this drops! I'm on very happy dude this morning
You guys do great work and work together like a family. Not just the official family but you all are like family. It's heartwarming.
Matt I am Canadian wheel speed is key to not getting stuck in the snow. So don't always listen to what people say. I run my old bronco winter wheeling on 35" locked in the front and factory traction lock in the rear with a high revving 351W in 2 feet of snow. Never had a problem. Love the Channel. I have watched every episode. Keep up the great work.
The fuel light in the Superduty means you have 10 gallons of diesel left.
10 gallons? That's what, 38 litres approximately? Hardly running short.
Fantastic recovery! Matt needs to invent a studded good for sand/hard stone/snow ice tire. He can sell along with Yankum ropes.
That's what chains are for.
Matt falls....no comments from the crew. The rest of them fall....look out. That's called respect. :)
You guys are amazing. I see some of these situations and just shake my head. You always get em out. Well done.
Northern Michigan person here... Yeah, you do see this every day during winter time. Lol.. Those big wide tires you guys run out there aren't great in winter conditions.. They're alright for big deep heavy snow.. But for powder and especially the crazy ice we get here, you want narrower so it can just dig through the snow and find something remotely solid. Like frozen mud! Haha, snow tires are always thinner than standard for any particular vehicle. Running studs is amazing. And I don't know what Canadians said wheel speed is no good. They're obviously from tornonto or something and don't get the 15+ feet of snow we get here in an average winter... And that's at basically sea level. No mountains needed. Thank you lake effect from both Lake Michigan and Lake superior. Wheel speed is everything. The first thing a Yooper will tell you when going into serious snow is TURN THE DAMN TRACTION CONTROL OFF!
Lizzie is the perfect road trip partner. She is always sleeping. Works for me at least.
You can tell Matt knows his stuff on this recovery. The angles, the torque needed. Great job.

@@Dave.T. And how are you this fine day? Did you have a good vacation?
Nice snow recovery. There was a few inches of snow a week ago in southern Idaho, melted the next day. Matt needs a sticker on each car to remind him to check the gas before going on recoveries, trips. Glad Matt is ok from the fall, I fell like that with ski's on and was sore for a while.
Matt, I'm impressed that you know about hummingbirds and torpor! You seem to be a true Rennaissance man.
Learned long time ago that one doesn't hook a chain w/clevis hood to anything soft like soft shackles or tow rope, it just cuts them up. Other than that it was a good and interesting recovery. I had one bad experience in the snow, blowing snow, below freezing, and fingers do not work plus if it takes a while you end up in bad shape from the cold. Really like your videos, a learning experience and also entertaining, THANKS!
