I have massive respect for the I.D. R. Setting the fastest overall time on the Pikes Peak Hillclimb and Goodwood Festival of Speed Hillclimb, and the fastest electric vehicle around the Nordschliefe? No mean feat!
A true masterpiece of engineering and we´ve only just started developing high performance EVs... can´t wait to see future cars
@Thijs Rijn van I don´t think they would be. No heavy battery packs, but fuel cells and a complex hydrogen containment system
Electric works different with top speed. Its about max wheel speed. It will accelerate to that max wheel speed fast. You can have 2000hp electric but if the max wheel speed is only 60mph then you will accelerate like crazy to 60mph then it stops
well that´s just an electronic limitation. I reckon the ID. R struggled with topspeed because of it´s insane aero
@@tomthatsit1241 yes that is one reason. But every electric car has that problem, with top speed. It's all about volts, volts control the max wheel speed, but putting to many volts makes it overheat. But still you can get crazy instant power and acceleration to max wheel speed

Super freaking jealous you get the ID R and Rimac. I for sure though the ID R would have come to GT Sport already since it had polyphony sponsors on it for the pikes peak run.
Now that I think about it it's kinda weird seeing this version of the car without the granturismo windshield banner.

Trial was easy this time, someone actually took the idr for the trial, they didn't do very well, I would've first placed all 3 races if that glitch didn't stop my car in the 2nd one.

It's normal the idr isn't that fast on a straight, her purpose is to go on track and break record of the track it self, it did at pyne pike and the nurbergring, I really hope VW make another electric hypercar like that but for competition, and I'd love to see the WEC allows this kind of car on the competition...

Having seen the ID R in person I can tell you that is not factual. Fastest accelerating thing I’ve ever seen. Didn’t think electric cars made noise until this tore past at 130mph.

IDR is best for twisty speed zones. I got into top 600 on a first try. Someone else got into top 20
It really is! Handling and topspeed might not be up there with the very best, but instant torque makes up for it
