I'm glad Tangled the Series' (Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure) amazing music is getting the recognition it deserves. This song would really fit Mirabel if she ended up becoming the villain.
For me, I think "Everything I Ever Thought I Knew" fits with Camilo because in that song Eugene is having an identity crisis. I think if Camilo had a song in Encanto, it might have had a similar premise when the magic began to fade and he would have to figure out who he is without his shapeshifting gift.
Edit: Also, "Waiting in the Wings" totally would fit with Mirabel as well! It could literally be put into the movie in place of "Waiting On A Miracle" and you wouldn't know the difference 🤣

Bruno sees the future and hates it, and has PTSD and societal scorn for it :_: and Julieta- has to be cooking from dawn to dusk every day for all of encanto because she heals their wounds- and she probably panics about taking time to herself at all because if someone dies because she hasn't cooked... It’s not its fault she didn’t get a gift, but it also wasn’t mirabel’s. I’m just sad mirabel actually broke a friendship of one of the characters that actually cared and knew about her insecurities about herself. And Cass didn't have an actual reason to betray Rapunzel sure she was treated as a second violin sometimes and Rapunzel doesn't always listen to Cassandra. But it's not Rapunzel's fault that her mother Gothel rejected her and chose Rapunzel over her. If anyone here is a victim it's Rapunzel at least Cassandra got adopted by a loving father who would do anything for her despite her origin. Mirabel on the other hand has a better reason to be villain than Cass. The poor girl not only didn't get a gift on her ceremony when she was 5 years old but ever since then everyone either treated her coldly, ignored her, became distant from her or innocently insensitively offended her as well all because she is the only one blood Madrigal with no gift. If that wasn't terrible enough she because she received no gift she also never received her own room forcing her to sleep in the nursery in the attic. And imagine this if Bruno had shown his mother his latest vision with Mirabel being in the Center in front of a broken Casita earlier on, what do you think would've happened to Mirabel then? Not that I wish for Mirabel to become a villain and I would feel very sorry for her parents, Bruno and Antonio the only people in her life that actually treat her like a person and support her.

What worth she can still provide if her duty as a handmaiden and a warrior is diminished when most of her duty requires handwork? They showed how she was struggling on some episodes, but failed to address it by catering it to Rapunzel' feelings-- what a dick move.
Plus, the manipulation of Zhan tiri when she was such a vulnerable state with Mother Gothel as her mother is actually an interesting plotline, especially if it was revealed to the whole Corona to make her villainous route more exciting. Too bad Disney is a coward to explore those deeper topics, which made S3 lackluster since Cass's character and predicament is albeit complex to compress in a hungry business/kid's show. Most eps in S3 were fillers, hence, Cass's villain arc wasn't fulfilling. I might be out of line here but I think this fits Marabelle a lot more than it did Cassandra. Cassandra’s reason for being a villain is questionable but that’s a whole other story, but for Mirabel: with every word she sings and remembering the plot of Encanto I’m just chanting “yes! “over and over again. It just fits so perfectly,I never would’ve put these two together.

@@adamfirstman0 no it’s not, but like Rapunzel said in the series, if they just talked about it really sat down and talked about Cassandra‘s feelings all that could’ve really been avoided. Feeling you’re not heard by your closest friend can be fixed by having a serious talk about it or just leaving like she did at the end. She felt inadequate at times but that doesn’t justify all her actions that she did after she got the moonstone. Terrorizing her friends, her kingdom with all the damage she did did not justify that. And her main reasoning for getting so upset is because Cassandra‘s very toxic self-absorbed mother supposedly “loved “Rapunzel more than her, when in reality we know that they were both pawns that Gothal was using. That was a terrible excuse to go off the deep end.

This song fits Mirabel even better! Mirabel had legitimate reasons for becoming a villain. Cassandra was just jealous of Rapunzel without a good reason. Hell she became a villain over a woman who didn't even appreciate her and treated her as a slave. And then after Rapunzel got kidnapped she was finally free and is loved and adopted by the Royal Guard Captain. Meanwhile Rapunzel had to endure Gothel's abuse instead of Cassandra.

I think Disney did a good job with Mirabels character in that is she isn't just some unreasonably overly optimistic princess but is clearly affected by her home environment and tries to solve the issues within it. It's unrealistic (because family irl is much more unrrasonable) but optimistic and I appreciate that. However, I love that this animatic expresses a more bitter and fustrated version of her, which would have been more realistic and relatable. Perfecto song choice and storyboarding to express this ❤

I felt so bad for Mirabel throughout the whole movie. This right here is how villains are made. I honestly wouldn’t blame her if she became one, though. Even though Abuela did change at the end, I still hated her since she never had a reason to treat Mirabel so horribly. For God’s sake, she even blamed her for the dying of everyone’s miracles and the magic! But, Mirabel’s love is nothing like anyone else’s I’ve ever seen. Even though she could’ve destroyed the candle to take everyone’s gifts like any other villain would’ve done, she didn’t. She loves her familia more than anything, and plus it was Antonio’s special night.

Like, maybe Mirabel could have seen that no one had stood up for her under Abuelas wrath- despite how much she's been helping them through the movie, and instead of her telling off Abuela like she did- this would be the song she sings instead as Casita cracks apart.

I love Cassandra and Mirabel. When you think about it they went through similar struggles of being overlooked and mistreated. Cass desired to be more than just a hand maid, but her father never allowed it. The people of Corona never looked at her as anymore than just a servant. Even Rapunzel mistreated and would manipulate her is subtle ways throughout the show. When in reality, she had the makings of being the best warrior. Whenever it was her time to shine she always put her dreams to the side for others.
Same with Mirabel, she wanted to prove that she was just as special. But abuela subtly denied her of a chance to be of help and Isabella constantly put her down. I wish Disney did a better job of showing Cass’ charcater arc instead of trying to make it seem like it was all about her mother when that was just her breaking point. And I wish encanto ended with the family looking for Mirabel and we get an encanto tv series. It could be about Mirabel looking for a way to bring the magic back, while dealing with the evil descendants of the people who destroyed abuela’s town.

IMHO the only things that prevented Mirabel from having a villain arc is her love for Antonio, Casita, and Julieta (not that she doesn't love the rest of her family but there's only so much abuse one kid can take before they break). Antonio would be devastated to lose the gift he'd only just gotten, Casita is her best friend and would straight up die, and her mother is a nurturer through and through so it would probably really hurt her to not be able to heal people. Luisa didn't really help Mirabel's abuse but she gets a pass from me because she probably wanted to protect her baby sister more but wasn't even given a moment to breathe with how everyone took advantage of her. The rest of the family didn't treat her as badly as Abuella or Isabella did but they also kind of ignored her entire existence when they weren't being annoyed by her.
