I admire all jockeys... Especially female jockeys...Those like Mary Bacon,Robyn Smith,Rosie Napravanic,to name a few defied the odds and showed absolute bravery and superb athleticism in a male predominantly type of sport....To remain beAutiful, strong, tough, and always keeping their mannerisms in check is highly respective and demands total admiration... Keep it up super ladies of the equestrian world and always aim at the winners circle....Today you win a maiden claimer, tomorrow the Kentucky Derby....The triple crown awaits the bold and the beautiful... Like all of you.. Godspeed..🌹🌹🌹🏇🏇🏇
You must watch the Australian movie " Ride Like a Girl" by Rachel Griffiths - this is about the first woman, Michelle Payne who won Australia's premier horse race the Melbourne Cup , great movie, inspirational, a must see for anyone.
Everytime retired female jockey Rosie Naparavnik won a common or a classic race, I felt very happy. I am a man, but I am not a chauvinist. Greetings from Venezuela.
Nicanor (Barbaro's little brother) broke his maiden by several lengths with Rosie on board. I wish they would have kept Rosie on Nicanor. They were such a good team.
Cada vez que la ex jocketa Anna Rose Napravnik ganó una carrera común ó clásica, me sentí feliz. Soy hombre, pero no soy machista. Saludos de un venezolano que emigró a Chile buscando un futuro mejor
BOI I'm mad bc I'm A girl and lemme tell u when I rode my horse at 2 or 3 years old I was never freakin scared of her and I still never am My horse almost kicked me in the flippin head (she got spooked by another horse but she saw me and dodge me at the very last second) and to this day I'm not scared is if anyone tells me I can't do it bc I'm a girl (I'm really tiny) I won't say anything get on my horse and we will do the showing but she is amazing this girl she showed the world!!
Don't worry it's not cruel to use the whip, they use it to encourage the horse to go faster when nearing the end of the race, or if the horse has been misbehaving and to them it feel like a little pinch and then they won't feel it.
Elizabeth Evans you should not hesitate,then,Liz...Do it...I wanted to be a a jockey when I was young...But circumstances didn't lead to that destiny for many reasons...But if you are young, full of fire and passionate about this great, iconic sport..Go and pursue it...Study the sport...Talk to people in the business.... Practice safe riding techniques...Hang around racetracks, barns, watch horseracing videos..Books.. History.....This is a beautiful, powerful sport.. Underrated and Underestimated because most folks don't understand the technicalities and detailed things that go into it....Being a jockey is becoming an ace athlete....To be disciplined to get up at the break of dawn to exercise horses is a great job to start your day... Keep healthy, control your weight in a healthy manner and aim for what you love...Most important, prove to your self and defy your own odds and become the best jockey you can be...Not just any rider...Aim for the triple crown....But never look back...See you in the winners circle,..🌹🏇🏇🏇
Jiffy Jim my dream is to be a jockey and I know I’m gunna try my hardest To do what I need to do to be one I’m 13 and currently doing riding lessons and as soon as I get to the point when I can start jockey training I will , I even do workouts daily for muscle but I’m very small for my age so that encourages me because loads of people want to be jockeys but are too tall but I’m not so I might as well take my chance
Rosie was a really good rider... women have a nice touch w/ horses, but lack much of the strength of their male counterparts. What made Julie Krone so good was her strength, Julie was very strong and I suppose Rosie is too.Unfortunately, She decided to get pregnant at the peak of her riding career.

Winning female jockeys make me think Mary Louise Weller from Jean Nate after bath splash commercials.
Good luck ! be safe ! I have a suggestion for you keep your helmet done up until you get off the horse
My dream is to be a jockey.
