- American Airlines 777-223(ER) LOUD takeoff from Miami. With a light load of fuel for this short 2 hour flight up the east coast to Philadelphia, the 777 made for a powerful and steep departure over the Atlantic Ocean!
Airline: American Airlines
Equipment: Boeing 777-223(ER)
Flight Time: 2 hours and 20 minutes
Origin: Miami International Airport (MIA)
Destination: Philadelphia International Airport (PHL)
Seat: 5L (Lie Flat Business Class Seat)
Date: July 11, 2021
Was once on a packed flight on a 737. The pilot must had opted for an unrestricted power take off, The thing accelerated and rolled down the runway so fast, then climbed like a bat out of hell it was shocking. These tubes with turbines in them that are pretty much an over sized turbocharger without the engine, are capable of producing so much power, its astonishing.
A turbocharger, that can ignite fuel along with the compressed air to absolutely take it to the next level. It's insane
@@Dinara1up and then take THAT exhaust air and compress it again. It's marvelous. Pure engineering porn.
I love that comparison
Yes they is too.
@@whiffy506 i'm bout to peak my orgasm from this turbofan talk
That’s the earliest rotation I’ve ever seen in a wide body!
Been off the ground on an AA 777-300 test flight in 2000 feet. Even the F/O was amazed
@@patrickbarnes4888 wow!
@@patrickbarnes4888 that's why there's warnings to keep them away from farm animals because they will suck them up.
@@longwindingroad lol
Hmmmmm equipment was extremely light since there was not much pax traveling due to covid
Maximum engine power. Rare catch!
@Tomaz Sielski Rosa uh… no? the FADEC decides how much power is needed for takeoff, and sets that to the absolute minimum required, usually 85-90 percent. max thrust takeoffs are not common at all and have to be done manually, unless there’s some feature in the 777 auto throttle that allows for them that I don’t know about.
@Tomaz Sielski Rosa Max thrust takeoffs are very rare. The takeoff power is (almost) always less than max if runway lenght allows, to save the eninge wear.
@Tomaz Sielski Rosa I don’t know what Boeing calls it but for airbus there is a thing called “flex temp” where the plane essentially adjusts the power on takeoff to a set thrust that is less than toga to reduce engine wear etc.
@@cargobroom9898 On Boeings, it's called "assumed temperature"
@Tomaz Sielski Rosa usually only 80%
Years ago I went on a 757 'test hop' fresh out of maintenance with a couple other mechanics and the front-end crew and I'm here to tell you it was better than any rollercoaster ride I'd ever been on! An empty 757 on a max-performance climb with Rolls-Royce RB211's was something to behold! Love the 'triple-sevens' but the 757 was my all time favorite airplane. As the old saying goes; " if it ain't boeing - I ain't going" 😂
Yes, sir! I did that at LGA (La Guardia), and impressed the hell out of everybody, including ATC!
The 757 is definitely a rocket and my favorite plane to take off in. This looked impressive too once it got going a little.
I liked the 757 too...i flew 3 times on the same vacation trip.
DFW-PHX and then MIA-STT-MIA...less than 1 year later, AA passed them forward...
Airbus>>>
Rocketed out of San Diego’s runway 27 on an American 757 for a short hop to PHX. I could not believe my eyes how early we rotated. Those engines were super loud too!
I’ve never seen plane of this size to use just a half of the runway to take off, wow.
Depends on weight and weather . As long as they see the numbers they are going ! Actually if it’s a full house on a international route meaning a lot more weight they will use most of the runway .
I was on a test flight with one of AA's 777-300s. We got off the ground in 2000 feet! Even the F/O was amazed
Thos leg was a short one for a 777 just going to Philadelphia before crossing the Atlantic.
If the air is dense (sea level + humidity) and loading is light, it doesn’t take much runway.
A light triple 777 can do wonders don’t you see them at the air shows going near vertical ?
I have 35 years with AA. All of the time in aircraft maintenance DFW. I still watch planes take off everyday. Triple 7 is soo powerful, the 747 is pure beauty.
I'm very lucky to taxi 777s and 787s. What a job !!
The Boeing 777 is arguably the largest, fastest and finest twin-engine wide-body jetliner ever developed.
Ahhhhhhh thank you so much for your loyalty as a passenger for American Airlines. I’m a ramp clerk at our AA MIA hub. I’m grateful for listening to this video of our B777-223ER premium product. This is a bad azz aircraft. Powerful engines and excellent product to work in for loading and unloading. I hope we treated you well.

Ive worked these and the 300s for AA for over 5 years, and am engine run qualified on them. The 300s with the GE 90s are much more impressive than the Trent 892s that are on the 200s as seen here. Blown down quite a few fences and "other" items while running both! Yeah, its a good job
RRs sound cooler though.
I was one of the industrial engineers performing vendor support to Smiths during the first five years of the 6026-01-2 IRP, and the associated FQIS transducers. Chances are there are a few IRP access panels which have the imprint of the top of my head, when I "zigged, instead of zagging".... Also, let's not forget my "ass groove" imprint on one particular tug
Yooooo regards to you from our MIAMI hub good evening
@@herbertcarrillo-ramos3772 I 😂
How hard is it to get on with Mainline? Asking as a Piedmont tech.
I hear that “Holy shit!” In the background and I said it to myself at the same time! ❤️❤️🥰🥰
I low-key said the same thing LOLLLLLLL
😅😅
WOW That was a short take off roll.
Incredible power. The triple 7 never disappoints!
Thanks for watching!
The "Engine" is roughly as big around as a 737 FUSELAGE - imagine having a 737 under each wing
The 777-300er engine is. The 200 engine is smaller, about the same as a private jet fuselage.
@@cun7us They are all pretty damn big, but yes the 300 GE90 is a touch bigger.
@@kennethfeld6639 yeah, both huge. There's only about 60cm difference between their fan blade diameter apparently, so not much in it. The new GE9X fan blade diameter is even bigger by 30cm.
I love the sound of the rolls Royce trent engine
This right here is the very rare High Powered setting for the T800 in the key A natural. I started watching 772 videos in 2010 & I've only seen 2-3 in cabin recording of this setting, that's how rare it is
You analyzed it down to the key of the engine noise, damn
The GE90s go up to a high B-flat and maybe a high B I have heard.
I did not even know one could do that :D
Impressive!
What is T800?
@@Victor-ze3sd Trent 800
It’s crazy to think how powerful these engines are. It’s crazy what humans have built. Going from caveman to 600’ buildings and planes like this or fighter jets it’s insane snd awesome at the same time
And all the free porn on the internet 😊
I was on a Singapore Airlines 777-300 once, SIN to AKL. The power on full thrust literally shook the whole airframe. I remember the air hostess looking a little distressed at the sound and vibration. I'm guessing it was GE-90-115B powered because it was truly incredible, unlike any power I've felt on 747 or anything
Anyone who loves jet aircraft will always tell you the most AWESOME PART IS TAKE-OFF!!!
I concur!
You're right that was an Insane takeoff and beautifully filmed too
Did you hear that holy shit at 2:48 ?
Bet the pilots had fun with this one, the Trent’s sounded amazing!
They unleashed the inner RB211.
@@TheLowprofiler I agree! Having flown on many L-1011 TriStars (with TW and DL), I quickly fell in love with the RB211 and I've enjoyed each of its variants and descendants to date.
Your comment reminds me of an occasion, many years ago at ATL, where I walked with the Captain and First Officer of the Delta B763 we had just disembarked. That ship had GE CF6 turbofans, but the two pilots told me DL had recently taken delivery of some B763s with PW4060 engines, which they reported as being quite impressive. The Captain told me, that on his time commanding a PW-powered B763, he was expected to use a derated takeoff power setting. He added, "I looked at my First Officer, he looked at me...we threw away the rule book and let the big dog eat." ☺
It sounded like it was going to split apart!
@@Gardis72 right! I wondered if it was supposed to sound like that 🤔
So many years and I'm always impressed with these engines! I remembered GE-90 many years ago and now all these high-efficiency, high-power ones! Great video! ✈✈✈
Amazing short take off !!!!👋
93,700 pound-force produced by the engines deployed by this 777 on takeoff.
Excellent exposure/color grading on this video. The clouds look perfect. Love to fly on a 777 someday.
I’ve flown on it once, it was amazing
Flew 777 out of Christchurch NZ several years ago to Singapore. Beautifully smooth experience, especially approach and touchdown. So smooth compared to a 747.❤️❤️❤️
Literally…..A “rocket” takeoff. Nice capture. What a blast!
I could ride a jet 24/7 and love every second of it. I trust planes more than cars any day!!!
and pilots
the cars are not the problem, the drivers are XD!
@@pablolopezrauhut9853 mostly true, but i guess you never saw the f150 death wabble
@@KappaDoge I'm a mechanical engineer very much into cars, I know a thing or two about failures :) One thing to mention is that obviously the safety standards are way way stricter for airplanes and there is only a bunch of plane models which have certification to be used, whereas there is hundreds, thousands of car models - some of which are terrible and some of which are unbreakable! Then again, falling from the sky has a higher chance of death than crashing into a tree with a car... specially if you consider newer cars!
@@pablolopezrauhut9853 true, chance of a plane crash, very low. Chance of fatality in a plane crash sevenfold that of a car. Car are great and fun. But flying is something else, the birds eye view of the world is unbeatable
Love ❤️ the 777. The engines are so powerful.
awesome video !!! what a view of the airport and south beach ✈️✈️
Not even 8 seconds into the t/o roll, the wing flex is screaming take me up! Can't wait to see the future of supersonic flight again! Glad they're moving forward with it finally
The wright brothers would be proud
That was rad! Just watching those engines launch that airframe like it was nothing gave me chills. Nice HD shot!
I honestly prefer the "fridge compressor" sound at 3:11
The flight director display on the seat back screen is WAY cool. I wish that had been in place last time I flew. I used to really enjoy flying. Nowadays, I will drive if possible. Flying has become such a pain these days. A senior flight attendant recently wrote an article I read. She recommends that if your destination is 7 hours away or less, DRIVE. Makes sense to me.
Every major city (and city in close countries) have trains going to them. The trains don't go as fast as airplanes but at 200 mph (or 300-325 km/h) it's still way faster than a car, there is no traffic, ride is smooth, safer, etc. (I live in France). (Sometimes the train is more expensive than taking the airplane though (for instance between Paris and London airplane is sometimes cheaper but you have tighter security, longer waiting lines, you need to go to the airport, etc, so the train is more convenient as probably worth the little extra).
Wow! Incredible. What a steep climb out.
I don't think people would have good hearing vision... I'm the only one who heard the "hooooly shit" at 2:48
Love the growl of those engines. The DC10 had the best growl on takeoff!
Short take off! The roar of these engines, once aloft, is mighty indeed…
Awesome cool take off video clip, insane power drive of 777 !
Amazing. 21 second roll. Super light!
Wow!! That's some power!!
Love the Rolls Trent 800
LOVE this! 777's are amazing.
""Holy shit" could not have put it any better!!
Wow, that was great.
I’ve been on triple 7 before from Dallas to LA it was an amazing experience
I will always love Miami.
These planes are a rocket!!!
Love this aircraft such a smooth journey on it ….
amazing video
Just loved the updated “rotate” callout: “holy sh*t” LOL! Great vid! 😉
I call that big power
Wow. That was amazing. Thanks!
This is great, love the 777!
That was a crazy fast takeoff
Very cool thank you.
That was unbelievable ....
AMAZING engine sounds 😮😮😮😮. Great video
Great Video!
Excellent video, the take off are excellent, and the clouds are very beautiful! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I love the sound of the engine. Cool. 👍👍
They always sound like gears running without any lubrication to me.
@Westerly Winds : That’s the sound of thousands of tiny sonic booms, as the tips of the turbofan blades are supersonic on climb. The real marvel is that it all stays together with all that stress.
and i love the sound of the hooooooly shit at 2:48
That’s a 20 second takeoff WHAT A ROCKET 🚀🚀🚀
Very cool! Thank you!
Lovely fluffy clouds really help give a sense of spatially, kind of 3D
I can tell that power has to be over 90% N1 at first and it then it goes back to 80% N1 or between, Even the guy was like “Holy Sh*t”
Not only is it not over 90% N1 it’s actually even less than 90%. This is a lightly loaded aircraft obvious from the steep climb and quick acceleration. Airlines mandate that pilots use the least thrust necessary for a safe take off. Not only does it save fuel costs it also reduces stress fatigue on the parts.
No, you can’t tell. 🙄
Lol you 🤡
I’m trying to find out, why do I come back 7 months later and this was a speculative comment from point of view, only because of the fact of how I saw it in flight simulators 😐
Are yall actually arguing about if he can hear the engine difference from 10 %
man,that baby got airborne quick!
Beautiful ❤️
What a beast of a machine
on a gorgeous aircraft
Wow! That was a short take off!
Love the Trent 800s
That was awesome!
These engineers are amazing 👏
And the dude who went holy shit at 2:48 is amazing too
That was a cool video. Love ❤ those big boys
A thing of beauty! Boeing rulz!!!!
“Holy shit” is right. I have flown on Air Canada 777-200LR a few times (110k thrust per side) and what a fierce kick that model has. A Lion!!!
hooooooly shit is what everyone should come for in this video
Love the domestic 777/787 runs... flew 772 BOS-MIA, 787-8 PHL-MIA and 787-8 MIA=PHL just this past year...
Not heard Trents from the inside. This is giving me an old-school RB211 buzz!
Le plus beau son du monde😀
Thank you, beautiful video. I love punching it out of MIA, the most beautiful take-off & landing in North America.
It’s keep changing gears !!!, amazing.
3:37 i lived accross those baseball fields line up with 27/9 runway so growing up all those cargo planes were it seemed within reach when they were on final. hence my love for aviation it really sparked my imagination.
Wow that was a really short takeoff roll.
Incredible 777 RR.
Yes the Trent 800s are awesome
20 seconds from power-up to rotation. Wow.
Amazing! ❤
Well that was the definition of get up and go
The GE 90 uses ruffly 100 gal of fuel per min during take off.
The new 9X is coming soon on the new 777X ..the fan case is about 1.5 ft bigger than the GE90 ..sadly the 9x and 777x program got put on hold during covid but will resume in 2023 ..the 9x is a massive engine and can't wait to see it in action.
That moved FAST
Love......MIA.....💫
it's still special how it can all be done and how few accidents happen
Flying, only way to go!!!
Lucky you and everyone else on board! Great video.
An awesome plane!
It's fun to watch the other airplanes appear to get smaller during the takeoff. You could note the position of the slats during the phases of flight.🛩
If those engines could talk I think they would say something like this " buckle your ass's down! We fixing to go!" Great video
I'm a Delta apologist but American is always my backup these days. And damn, this was a hell of a takeoff on a 777 from MIA...
Chills.
Those engines eat the clouds
Me encantó este video...
I love that feeling I wish I was on that plane right now!!
@Penguins fan Lucky!!
@Penguins fan I hope you have an excellent book or an audiobook along
Awesome 👌
20 seconds from power up to airborne -- Never seen this on a jumbo other than a 777. I once flew out of Denver going west in an. almost empty 777-200, which was amazing -- it seemed to levitate over the Rockies, while I took advantage of the empty cabin to move from a window seat on the left side to one on the right, and back, to take photos of the mountains.
