I'm in my late 50's and I have referred to the decal as the screaming chicken for as long as I can remember. When I was a teenager, I had a friend who had one of these cars. There is an excellent video on CZcams that discusses the placement of the Phoenix decal on the Pontiac Trans Am. In that video, the person discusses that the "Screaming Chicken" moniker grew out of someone in the Pontiac styling studio referring to it as a "sick chicken", suggesting that the bird was vomiting. As many others have pointed out, it has been referred to as the screaming chicken for decades. Keep up the good work. I thoroughly enjoy both of your work.
The phoenix has been referred to as the screaming chicken for decades. I remember having the debate among my other firebird owner friends on whether or not I should put the screaming chicken decal on the hood or not on my 92. Ultimately I left it off but there were still 5 other small ones from the factory around the body of the car.
We used to call it the fire chicken, kinda paying homage to the firebird (get it? Fire.... BIRD,.... lol) as well (that never got the chicken on the hood)

It went around from Instagram and then slammed CZcams Shorts. I wrote into all of them how she was right. The comments thought she was wrong and they got roasted. When I said there was turbo gauge in the cowl, people were all over me.

And yes, there is such a thing as a muffler bearing. Came across an actual listing for one in the digital parts catalog on an air-cooled Porsche. 80s era, if memory serves. I have been in the car business for 26 years, and our family has three General Motors dealerships in Nebraska, Iowa, and Missouri. I have followed Hoovie for years, and now both of you on GMYT. You always seem very knowledgeable to me, and when seeing this video I didn't didn't see anything wrong at all. Watching April makes me think she knows a lot more than I do about the cars going through Barrett Jackson. I would consider her car knowledge to be expert level.

Many that have never been that close to that 80-81 Trans Am scoop have no knowledge of what those lights mean. But, I always have bee impressed with your knowledge of vehicles at the Barrett Jackson auctions and wondered if it was scripted or if your really know about the cars. There is an excellent video on CZcams that discusses the placement of the Phoenix decal on the Pontiac Trans Am. In that video, the person discusses that the "Screaming Chicken" moniker grew out of someone in the Pontiac styling studio referring to it as a "sick chicken", suggesting that the bird was vomiting. As many others have pointed out, it has been referred to as the screaming chicken for decades. Keep up the good work. I thoroughly enjoy both of your work.
The phoenix has been referred to as the screaming chicken for decades. I remember having the debate among my other firebird owner friends on whether or not I should put the screaming chicken decal on the hood or not on my 92. Ultimately I left it off but there were still 5 other small ones from the factory around the body of the car.
We used to call it the fire chicken, kinda paying homage to the firebird (get it? Fire.... BIRD,.... lol) as well (that never got the chicken on the hood)

I have been in the car business for 26 years, and our family has three General Motors dealerships in Nebraska, Iowa, and Missouri. I have followed Hoovie for years, and now both of you on GMYT. You always seem very knowledgeable to me, and when seeing this video I didn't didn't see anything wrong at all. Unfortunately some car guys have earned their bad reputations, and here is another ignorant example as Tyler said. Thanks for all the videos you post. It's always one of my highlights every week, and now almost every day.

When I heard the screaming chicken comment, I chuckled and took it as sarcasm. I called it a screaming chicken in the 80's. I also refer to a T-Bird SC as a Super Chicken. Totally acceptable. Don't let the haters get you down.
Screaming chicken. I love it! We called them fire chickens. I've been a gearhead my whole life. I've been doing car repairs over 35 years and working as a mechanic for about 20 years. Watching April makes me think she knows a lot more than I do about the cars going through Barrett Jackson. I would consider her car knowledge to be expert level.

As to the guy in the ripped pants, he is a perfect example of "better to stay silent and appear an idiot than to speak up and remove all doubt." Around three and a half decades ago, I dated a very attractive young woman who was in the process of getting her Master's Degree in chemistry, and reason she went out with me was because I invited her to go to a Picasso exhibition; no guy her age had ever asked her to do anything intellectually stimulating before, and I caught her off guard.The guys who hit on her typically drove Camaros with a 20 degree forward rake and shared their selection of music with entire neighborhoods. I once asked her why she often resorted to the "dumb blonde" routine in public, and she admitted that it was because that was what people expected, and when she made serious statements, men (usually in the wrong) would challenge her despite her expertise, so she just decided to not fight it anymore. I’m surprised because I am a car guy and have been around when many of these Trans Am were new and yes, we did call them, “Screaming Chickens”. Many that have never been that close to that 80-81 Trans Am scoop have no knowledge of what those lights mean. But, I always have bee impressed with your knowledge of vehicles at the Barrett Jackson auctions and wondered if it was scripted or if your really know about the cars. I have to say that out of all the female auction hosts, you seem to have the most valuable info. Hang in there, you are doing a great job.

I’m a senior public servant in Australia 🇦🇺. My department has an employment ratio of roughly 80% female workers. Some of the brightest, funniest, determined, impassioned, goal focused people I have ever worked with. I understand how hard these negative obstacles are for woman. One of my cousin’s is a sports reporter on the Fox Network Australia and boy, it has been a tough climb for her! Personally I think you are doing a fantastic job and so do countless others. I have a 3 year old granddaughter and it’s people like you that are going to make all of her goals and dreams possible one day. 😊
