What do you expect when hospitals will double and triple charge for services when insurance pays for it. The US also does the overwhelming majority of pharmaceutical studies and advancements. Many people don’t realize that other countries use the formulas later after the patents are up and because they didn’t do any of the research then can easily make money. Most medical advancements happen in the US. But it is also where most of the money goes to waste because the heads of pharmaceutical companies, insurance companies, and hospitals take a much larger cut of money then they need. Then “donate” it to their buddies in politics.

Actually, in the rest of the world, taxes are quite high. But many other countries in the western world have a better education system, including practical job training financed by the government. This means, that they have a higher productivity and can produce more per working hour.
@@user-xb9yv2ci4c Unfortunately we have high taxes here in America. Nobody is aware of it due to grouping hundreds of different taxes under the same name, and looking at tax laws is illegal unless you're a licensed attorney, or have an attorney to tell you what they are. And as for education, pretty much all colleges have raised tuition by ridiculous amounts since the government pays a portion of that. More and more people are finding themselves in lifelong debts because of that "higher" education, with no real way to pay it off.
@@mericaman8877 Here in Germany, university is almost free. I only pay 165€ per half year. The universities here are mostly government agencies, so they have no reason to demand more money, than they need.
On the minimum wage thing, as a swede i must point out that we don't have a minimum wage. We scale wage in education, work experience, expected living expenses based on age (i.a. if you are young you might not have a family to support so you start with a lower wage. As opposed if you are older and might a wife and kids.) Or just negotiate with your boss.
Srry for the math but I'm also Swede and we have some laws about that still. If u are 20 y/o or older you mostly have to be paid 22000 SEK / month = 2171,40 USD. An average month is 30,4375 days which is around 4,35 weeks / average month. If u work 40 hrs a week times 4,35 weeks u work for 174 hours per average week. If u divide 2171,40 USD with 174 it's around 12.48 USD / hour. So if 22000 SEK/month is 12.48/hour the average salary in Sweden is 37100 SEK/month which is 1.68636363... times more than 22000 so if we multiply 12.48 with 1.68636363... the average salary is around 21.046 USD/hour
@@jollan1747 No, we don't have laws that say how much you have to pay an employee. It is only in socialist countries that you have it, like the USA and Russia. You do not break any law if you do not follow the agreements, but you risk being locked out of the market (social shameing).
