I know this is a super old reply, but the manual trans for both of these cars is the same (T6060). Auto is different, and I assume what you're talking about here. It's just an interesting thing to see how many different cars run that Tremec.
That's Caddy is still pretty fast.
Meanwhile the hellcat supercharger is burned out and the CTSV actually is able to drive home.

C6Roadster Well ur probably right but weight plays a part as well. That hell cat is a lot heavier than that V.
Allahmein Crews about 200lbs, not a big factor with cars that are already this heavy. The new one is about 300lbs lighter and has an extra 100hp over this V.
That's pretty insane that a 2 door car looks bigger and heavier than a 4 door family sedan.
William Stewart weight matters a lot when it comes to speed, especially quarter miles. So yes, any weight loss can make a difference

It's obvious that the Hellcat is going to win, hands down. Not knocking the V, but that second generation V is still one hell of a car though. The current V model will give a Hellcat a good run for its money.

I had a 2015 Cadillac CTS4 2.0t and let me tell you, I was shocked at how powerful it is. I was on the street out-gunning mustangs, camaros, challengers...I definitely gave an Alfa Romeo an ego check too.

the hellcat sucks. It's on a 20 year old mercedes chassis. It can't do anything good except go fast in a straight line. Which is very fun i might add. I almost bought one

This is obviously an older CTS-V. The Hellcat should line up against the new CTS-V. I'm pretty sure the outcome would be different.
This was a 2nd gen cts v. And even then, it was a close race, given the hp difference and the age difference of the cars.

What a great video. Both cars are tremendous. The interesting point is that here is an example of two heavy cars that seem to do just fine. I have two hellcats, and trust me… When I see comments about how heavy the cars are I forget all about it as I drive around in 11 second comfort. I'm sure the CTS V owners would feel the same.😊

CTS-V can definitely hold it own. My roommate has one and it’s definitely fast. Hellcat weighs about 400lbs more though so they had to go big on motor.
