  • S&G ( Sargent and Greenleaf ) 4440 is a dual custody bank safe deposit lock requiring both a guard key and renter key to operate the lock.
This model picked was an 11 Lever lock: 5 serrated levers w/ smooth bolt stump on guard side + 6 serrated levers w/ matching serrated bolt stump on renter side.
I found the difficulty most with the serrated levers and serrated bolt stump on renter side. Gradual tension, setting levers as they barely begin to bind, jiggle test at that force of tension making sure all levers have true gate travel, then continue applying gradual tension. Eventually, 1 or more levers will be heavily bound which will require tapping that lever repeatedly and manually backing off tension until it breaks loose and able to be set.
Always a blast. Hope you enjoyed my struggle & success!

Nice work man! Those serrations are no joke. Nice picking ☕☕

Thanks man! This is headed your way for a run through and thoughts. I believe it’s one of the most common Safe Deposit locks in the U.S. I’m surprised not many else have picked it. And for real, serrations kicked my butt on the renter side.

Fantastic mate... I'd watched this a week ago maybe and am still amazed.
I picked one up recently from a good mate in Aus.
I was wondering if there's any chance I could ask you some questions on your experience with it.
    Cheers

Which manufacturer did you order from for your pick you used? Or did you custom make your pick? I just ordered a 4440, can't wait to give it a shot!

Hey John! You’re gonna have a blast with your 4440!
It looks like I’m using a mix of hooks from 2 different manufacturers, SouthOrd and Jimmy Longs.
The SouthOrd pick is from the max line “SouthOrd Max” and I slid a sleeve over the handle for a tiny bit more grip. SouthOrd and Multipick hook profiles are very similar.
Jimmy Longs is a 1 man show who has designed some incredible picks and ergo handles. Often selling out within minutes of batch release for dang good reason. You can keep tabs on his releases on the LPU discord server or drop by his site jimylongs.com
Good luck and send me the link to your defeat!

@L0ckJocKey oh nice, I use southord as well but I haven't used their max version yet, I was contemplating on ordering some, perhaps next month! Just ordered a ton from southord recently to replace the old stuff.
I've heard of jimmy long, and yes, he definitely sells out in minutes!!! I'm hoping to get some of his stuff in the near future.
I just got my 4440 in today, I've been screwing around with it and yes...
It looks like it will definitely be a fun lock! Hopefully I'll be posting a video on it in the near future.
