I always wonder if they had meant for Cory and Topanga to end up together from the beginning. In S1 there were little hints here and there that they both liked each other but Cory still made fun of her and thought she was weird. It became much more apparent starting in S2 that Topanga would be Cory's love interest.
I think what became of them later can be interpreted as being planned from the get-go and kind of like what Shawn was saying in the video. Cory and Topanga had the classic story, in which someone who's the object of an unlikely pairing is grossed out by the idea of their future spouse, until one day they become high school sweethearts/husband and wife. In this case, Cory was the naysayer and Topanga's biggest critic, yet he couldn't escape her regardless, no matter how much he tried. She always seemed to be one step ahead of him even though she wasn't popular, and her feats of unpredictability and maturity was so strong, he couldn't help but clamor for more, to which she happily obliged.
Too bad Nebula Stopthewar Lawrence was written out of the show. Along with Shawn's sister Stacy...where did they go...also Cory and Eric's age difference changes like constantly
Leah Tverly actually, the ep where they talk about shawn's sister was supposed to have an extra kid hanging out with cory and shawn, but while they were shooting, they had to fire him because it just wasn't working, so i think shawn took some of that kids' lines
Plus a girl called Riley and the cutest little guy ever Auggie plus a while of chasing boys outta yout daughter's room and then let's not forget the shoe obsession
