That’s what I used to think. My voice just doesn’t sound like what you hear in these covers. Their voices are much higher than mine, mine is at a lower end of the range, and it just doesn’t have the same sound, that’s true. But that’s the thing about a cover, it doesn’t have to have the same sound. A cover shouldn’t be whether or not you can do what the person originally did, a cover is what new you can bring to the sound, and that includes your own voice. If you think you don’t have the voice for these covers, then that might make for more of an interesting cover. The beauty of a cover isn’t whether or not you can imitate, it’s whether or not you can re-create in a way that’s inspired/influenced by the original vocalist. If you put up a cover, I’d listen to it, if only because you think you don’t have the voice for it. Brings your own twist, albeit an involuntary one
