  • If you can only roll down the driver side power window, but none of the passenger windows seem to work any more , this video for you! This is a common problem with the Honda master power window switch when the child safety lock shorts out. This is a step-by-step guide on how to repair this problem for free.

    Just here to say thank you.
    You are exactly correct here, the first time I pressed the window lock button, it locked me out! Hasn’t been moved since.
    This fix works flawlessly, the window lock button still works, and if you want to go above and beyond, you can put your speaker wire on either side of a 15A.
    I would only add that you want to do it exactly how it is done in the video. If you go with the wrong pin, you will (and I have) blown the fuse for the whole drivers side control module.
    The switch is $167 right now.
    Cheers

      I found a wire connected to a 15 fuse, after I tested it, and it blew out something that now I can't start my car or lock or unlock remotely.
      Looks like the previous owner put that wire what was it supposed to have done?

    • @fru5tum
      @fru5tum Před 2 lety +1

      @@levialby3920 hope that’s not the 1 I just sold, but I would have put it there to bypass a child lock malfunction that only allowed the drivers window to roll down. If you found that fuse on the drivers door, that’s probably exactly why it was there. Sorry about your keys. What might have happened, is when you tested it, you may have shorted the 12v to a different pin, than referenced in the video. I blew my door switch this way, but the entire control unit has a fuse that I was able to replace. If the car is not starting and you’re unable to lock or unlock any doors, it sounds like you have a more serious electrical issue. I would check the battery first, then check all of your fuses, 1 by 1 until you find the culprit.
      I have some german engineering now (not as cool as it sounds) and my key has on multiple occasions, disconnected itself from the vehicle. Within the manual, and a couple google searches to find knowledge gentleman like this one here, you might just be able to reprogram the key with a couple buttons and etc…
      Regardless if it is programmed or not, you should be able to stick it in the ignition and start it, unless it is a remote start.
      I also might add, I love hondas! The Accord is great. Everything was serviceable as far i could see. Have no fear!! Find that fuse, or that reprogram procedure, you’ll be back to button mashing in no time :D
      Good luck!!

      What you mean the one you just sold the car? and if it was there to bypass the child so I can get wasn't working because the windows weren't going up or down but when I replace the motherboard it's worked finally but now my car doesn't start for the reasons stated earlier.

    • @levialby3920
      @levialby3920 Před 2 lety

      For some reason the last owner connected the wire to the ACG fuse, that's what I think the problem might be.

    Thank you Z speed, I have a 08 Acura TSX (1st gen pretty much same as 03-07 Accords I think those are the Accord years) well its the exact same window switch I know that lol In the 10+ years of owning the TSX i dont think I ever used the lock out button. So was BEYOND DUMBFOUNDED when just overnight all my windows went from working to only my drivers window working. I heard the clicking at all the windows and heard the clicking at the under hood relay so knew those were most likely not the case. Tried a couple Acura forums, pointless. Turned to youtube and found the original video instantly (shout out to the original kid for pinning the video to you). I just finished soldering so fingers crossed, i know i know I didnt try your pin test but im hearing everything click so the relays are getting power, hopefully its this. I wish i could attach a picture but not a big poster on you tube, ig, tic, but it came out beautiful. Putting it back together now and out to the TSX I go. You still have your Z? I had an 03’ chrome silver track model. Had to sell her due to my daughter being born and as you know, Z’s only 2 seater 😢 Ive had Honda/Acura’s and Nissans my whole life. Funny story, so I found a G35 coupe being a 4 seater, black on black 6spd with the brembos and rays wheels (Infinity’s track version like the Z) but the car seat wouldn’t fit backwards cause at the time the car seat had to be facing backwards, it would fit forwards but not chancing it with my daughter so went with the TSX. Not even a week later we were at the point her car seat could go forward, son of b****!!! lmao Oh well, been loving the TSX and playing around with the K24. Had always been a B series guy but damn, the K24 with some bolt ons, clutch cylinder and master cylinder upgrade and the K Tuner, wow. Night and Day. Anyways thank you for this video because even my buddy at his salvage yard has trouble getting these master switches cause they go instantly and even used are expensive, and could have the same problem. So thank you for the video! Cheers!

    Just completed the fix and all is back to normal again... I can't begin to thank you enough, you're the man!! I live in the Philippines and spare parts or replacement parts are rare if at all... I bought a switch from Alibaba for $24.00 and it worked great but no matter how many times I tried to reprogram my key fob I always had the same result which was no go...now it works just like new. I hope someone else with this problem finds your video. Again many thanks.

    Thank you! I rarely, if ever, used the child lock for the windows but my husband borrowed my car to drive out of town and hit this switch and the passenger windows haven’t worked since (but they still click). I have been looking through all of the different fixes for this problem for months trying to decide which one I want to do and this is the best! I don’t want to purchase a new genuine part or even a used one because this is a VERY common problem which should be a recall so it seems like a waste of money. There are too many issues with buying a generic switch as well and jumping the 1 and 3 wires seems to be a drain on the battery so this is fantastic! I am going to order a solder kit and I will update after I complete this fix. Very thorough instructions too which is much appreciated!

      You actually don't gotta pay to reprogram the master switch. You do for the immobilizer but there's an in car procedure you can do yourself to program the fob to the new master switch. Works better if you have 2 keys tho.

    Had the same issue, repair worked great for me. Mine is the 35750-SDA-A14 (EX model) which is most expensive type. Would like to clarify that jumping pins 1 & 3 (Black - Wht/Grn) is only good for testing; it will keep the relay energized constantly and can drain you battery if left that way. Did this repair for a friend who got it from a used dealer that did a bunch a quick hacks like this to get it ready for resale. Took me better part of a day to find the parasitic drain and that quick hack was the culprit.

This is why I say almost;I said almost because all of the three windows that were not working are now working. The problem I’m having is that the master control is no longer working; therefore, my driver side window which was working is no longer working. Also, all of the three doors cannot be opened with the master switch. I have to open them individually. Do you or anyone reading this have a suggestion that would help me out? thank you very much for your help.

Just make sure that the wire gauge isn't so large that it fuses the wire post next to the one you're working on! You might need to experiment with different gauged wires. • @Zspeed

      That's the main reason I didn't purchase a new master switch, because you have to have a certain serial number to match up with your key fob or it won't unlock your door remotely. So that's why I decided to try to fix my original master switch. Do some research and you may be able to find the correct master switch that correlates with your Key fob, good luck!

      Yes, it's the main reason I decided to just repair my old master switch instead of replacing it! A lot of people a having the same problem that your having, they are unable to get their key fob to sync up with the new master switch module. After doing some research, I found out that the new master switch must have certain serial numbers that must match your old master switch numbers. If not the key fob will not sync properly.
