As African American, I have both G6PD, and Sickle Cell Trait. I always knew about the relationship between Sickle Cell and Malaria, but I never knew that G6PD also had anything to do with Malaria. This video is very informative.

Very important conversation Anna, this was one reason I have not visited the continent, especially with covid…I’m from a tropical country, but do not have to be injected or deal with that all those medication, I know there are side effects from all that goes in your bodies… Oh boy….. I had forgotten all of the vaccines etc that goes in travelling to the continent…🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

Great interview Anna!! it's very interesting that particular medication hydroxychloroquin 200mg "plaquenil" is what I currently take for Lupus. I feel I'm already half prepared when I visit.

One question that I wish you had have asked him Anna, so we know that mosquitoes are endemic in most tropical countries in the world. But why is malaria mostly found in African countries or Asian countries or Southeast Asian countries. And not found in Australia America and Europe as they do have plenty of mosquitoes in those countries especially the more tropical areas of America Australia and the hot humid countries of Europe.

I believe they have a different type of mosquito which carries different illnesses in North America. African mosquitos carry the malaria parasite etc but North American mosquitoes carry Zika virus, West Nile virus etc

An important topic for visitors especially parents. Malaria is nothing to play with although in this modern age, people think it's a thing of the past.

we are off grid in togo and it seems like every week someone in our family (7 kids!) gets malaria. we have a great clinic in our village, but i’m also interested in the tradition recipes for treatment. what did your aunt use? i’ve heard of several variations. this was very informative - keep up the good work!

I just got to Ghana a few days ago. First time. I took about 4 different immunizations. I'll be here for 1 month, and I have 2 months worth of Malaria medications. I have to take it for 1 month after I return to the US. The thing is, the meds are actually doxycycline antibiotic. I'm only going to be here for a month, but if I were stayed here for a year, what medication would I be expected to take to prevent malaria? I can't imagine taking an antibiotic indefinitely.

Please Dr., no shout outs to Bill Gates...

  • @KrazyKarentv

Once he said shout out to bill gates 5:15 the dev!L himself I had to leave, I thought this brother was in his right mind but no he is one of those Africans who looks up to the oppressors and not even realize how evil bill gate is i wouldn't be surprised if he sellout on his own people in Africa, he seem like a nice guy but that doesn't mean he cannot be tricked to be used against his own people it's so sad.
