At least 18 people are dead and 13 others are injured after shootings at a bar and a bowling alley in Lewiston, Maine. Police named Robert Card, 40, as a suspect in the shootings and an arrest warrant on murder charges has been issued. He remains at large. Officials have urged residents of Lewiston, Maine's second-largest city about 30 miles north of Portland, and nearby Auburn to shelter in place. Residents in other communities have also been asked to stay put, and many schools and businesses are closed.
A manhunt is underway for Robert Card, a person of interest, who authorities say was a trained firearm instructor with a military background.
Biden says he's spoken with top Maine officials and is in "mourning" after the "tragic mass shooting". President Joe Biden in a statement Thursday called the rampage in Lewiston, Maine, "yet another senseless and tragic mass shooting," and urged Republican lawmakers "to fulfill their duty to protect the American people" and work on gun laws. "Once again, our nation is in mourning," he said. "Today, Jill and I are praying for the Americans who’ve lost their lives, for those still in critical care, and for the families, survivors, and community members enduring shock and grief." He urged residents in the area of the incidents to heed warnings issued by local authorities to shelter in place as the suspect continues to be at large.

Why the consistent use of profanity Rex? Quality video content always but not family friendly due to the foul language. Further…given your apparent intelligence and vocabulary it’s completely unnecessary. Finally from a Christian perspective it’s counterproductive and tangential. Simply an observation…do with it what you will.

In the Fargo event, the responding officer shot 31 rounds (requiring a reload) at the gunman, landing 21 of them on target before neutralizing the threat. If people think a pistol is up to the task of dealing with a rifle, this was a prime example of why it's not even in the same ballpark.

Grabbed the next and the next and the next. F@&#!!! Adrenaline surge. Grabbed a full one from the shelf. Time elapsed: 50 seconds. I had gone shooting and hadn't reloaded those mags. I could have dropped the rifle and grabbed a loaded 12 gauge inside 20 seconds but that wasn't the purpose of the drill. Attitude and practices are now adjusted. Thanks, Rex. I'm sitting on my couch at home. Using my highly-calibrated "one one-thousand, two one-thousand" counting cadence, I figure it took me 20 seconds to get the gun out of the safe (I keep it loaded in the safe so that saved me some time). Like you said, that's too long, so thanks for the wake-up call. I'll do better at that from now on.

    An absolutely great idea/plan/habit!
Question to those of you who take a long gun with you when you leave your house, how do you keep it secured? My handgun is always on me and as much as I'd love to keep a long gun around me at all times as well, I just can't reconcile the thought of it being stolen from my vehicle. Again, my handgun is literally on my person when I'm awake and not in bed.

My opinion: in certain jurisdictions with elevated crime rates (I'm talking about you, Portland!), I think it's irresponsible to leave a rifle unattended in a vehicle. I won't risk it. I have a lot of emergency equipment in the trunk. A rifle isn't part of that equipment.

1:04 I like this!!! Ima be brutally honest & tell u I’ve literally been caught with my pants down. Not only are my pants down as I sit upon the porcelain throne but u’ve caught me in a very precarious situation that I have my pistol field stripped cleaning the slide & checking its internals. I will be 100% honest, I pretty much have my sidearm with me 99% of the time in my home & around it. It’s a GEN4 G19, I carry chambered & obviously ima firm believer that my appendage is the safety. I will set the stop watch, put the pistol back together but I will not chamber it since this is something I’ve never tried. I live in a smaller 3 bedroom 1 bath home. I am pretty close to the safe where my long gun is….I’ll be back shortly With my time (I keep it stored red eye flight if u catch my drift. Here I go…..53.99, ima shave 1.5s off to reach & stop the clock 52.49s to have it shouldered. That’s with no ear or eye pro & safety still on. That includes putting the G19 back together, ofc we know Glock owners no how simple that is. Sadly all my only son & wife dead if they came in the front door shooting or just started spraying & caught them. It’s not a joke & I’ve taken this seriously for a long time. Great video so far, I will edit my comment if more practice runs come up.

We only have 29 homicides a YEAR on average (that includes gun and non-gun related murders) that's like a Wednesday evening in Chicago.
And why? WHY? Because we carry.

Ok here we go! First of all, I didn’t click on this video; it just popped up and auto played as the next thing after whatever I was listening to.
What was I doing : driving my employers truck for my job. A truck that I share with other drivers and is completely impractical to responsibly leave a loaded long arm in. I was driving on a busy main vein road in the town I live in and my employers home base is when I heard the challenge.
While my Glock 34 was within an arms reach, it took me 2 minutes, 46 seconds to get a loaded long arm in my hands.
So based on the circumstances I absolutely slayed this challenge.
I had never heard of Rex Rifle Tips before so I didn’t know the answer to #3 but now I want to read them all.
