My thoughts on Crypto/Blockchain (as a Developer)

  • Despite the many crypto scams going on, I've begun to see some great potential in blockchain apps powered by Smart Contracts. The Ethereum Virtual Machine is essentially a P2P distributed supercomputer, where computational power can be traded for currency (ETH), and immutable code (Smart Contracts) can control the flow of currency.
    In this video, I explain how to view the Ethereum blockchain as well as how Smart Contracts and ether currency play a role in the sustainability of the ecosystem.

    You pointed exactly the reason why I avoided crypto until now, "the people who knows nothing, aka traders"

    Yes I love this. I’ve being watching countless videos about blockchain here on CZcams but there is something magical about your own presentation. I must say; you’re damn good at this, even if it seem you just stroll pass it and not deep into this yet! I believe this is meant for you. Please dive in and provide us more on blockchain....

      he is one of the best developer teachers on youtube.. he has a gift. I spent 9 months trying to figure this out & he got me to understand in 5 mins. Wild.

    When I subbed and you had about 200 subs I thought this guy looks like he knows his shit, watching this I'm like holyshit this guy knows a lot more than I thought. I've never been more excited to be confused yet I will still watch this video until I understand it.

    Hi Ryan,
    this is a fascinating subject and you explain the issues very well. I have thought similar to you re: crypto and 'schemes' that center around it. There is no such thing as a free lunch as they say. But like you say, the potential that the blockchain has is potentially unlimited if you can create code that can run as a part of a transaction. I couldnt quite get my head round how this can happen from a practical sense - untill I watched this video. Thanks and this is very usefull. I for one am very interested in this and like your method of explanation very good indeed. I also like your videos on Go in particular but your whole channel is full of interesting stuff also so hey, chicken dinner, cheers :)

    What an excellent overview.
    I can think of about 7 million reasons smart contracts are very stupid and will never work in a 'zero trust' kind of way.

    Excellent video, I've never been interested in block chain but after watching your video it actually sounds interesting by the way you describe it. But recently with all the layoffs in the tech industry, is it even worth it for developers to focus on a career in block chain? Also, didn't the government take control of blockchain? I am not quite certain? Maybe I am wrong?

    Can you explain more about where do you query your 'todos' from? Like which computer on the internet do you talk to to make queries/transactions? I probably need to research more about decentralization but I like the way you explain concepts.

  • @js_programmer8423
    @js_programmer8423 Před 2 lety +1

    so in "theory" if this was an actual website on the blockchain & I added a todo.. my ether would go down a bit because of the gas price? so basically interacting w/ dapps are not free. Bottom line is, I guess everything is a transaction on blockchain.

    Your opinion is very valuable for reference. As a developer, we should pay more attention to the charm of blockchain technology itself and the decentralization revolution it brings. As a beginner, I really benefit a lot and also want to make a dapp. Can you share the source code in the video? Thank you very much!

    good explanation, but what about more practical use and difference of different blockchains - there are tons of them.. and is there reason to make own blockchain?

    • @Ryan-xq3kl
      @Ryan-xq3kl Před rokem

      many chains exist for the sole purpose of profiteering and this leads to tons of exploits and centralization so far bitcoin gives the best approach towards usefulness on a blockchain that is decentralized

    The problem is that most centralized platforms are free and just doing little things on blockchain is costly.
