How much does it take to get you as a E driving teacherđ
@@OCRacing can you review the GT Omega ART Cockpit,
Im thinking about buying 1 and there isnt much on CZcams about it.
If you can get your hands on 1 of coarseđ
Thank you.
That last guy was an ass. Most of the situations were honestly just part of racing, BS within iRacing for penalizing when you still had enough wheels on the track. Though, you just made an honest mistake when trying to stay behind the car's slipstream. Awesome upload bro
It is what it is. We move đ«Ą
He probably thought you were intentionally trying to send him to the shadow realm a couple seconds before that.
I thought it was an ok move considering he didnât take the defensive line. It is what it is I guess đ
@@OCRacing you werent close) he did not expect you there, thats divebombing
For the first one with the Aston, when you are going to give up the position anyways there's no reason to drag it out as you just risk the guy getting impatient or miscommunication or awkward crash like that. You should have just let him go at turn 1 when he made the move the first time really. When he pulled out of your mirror going into the hairpin, you could have just braked gently a little early and let him slip past. You had nothing to gain by holding onto the spot until the back straight.
One of the most important lessons for both rookie racing on iRacing and sprint racing in general is choosing your battles. A lot of times you will lose far more by trying to fight too hard to hang onto every position. It gets harped on a lot by real life touring car drivers.
Also you really need to practice bleeding off slowdown penalties. The way you parked it on track could have easily caused a wreck, and the guys behind were likely yelling "what is this idiot doing!?" Lift and coast earlier, and remember you can bleed off a little at a time, it doesn't all need to be at once.
4:34 Considering how close he was in your rear view mirror then the move on the inside was definitely on. You turned into him causing that incident ruining both your races.
That last guy definitely did that on purpose though.
Editing is fantastic as always, I tune in to your content as much for the videography as the actual sim racing. Keep it up.
Much appreciated! I spend a little too much time on it đ
5:00 you let the door open and then turn in when he gose for the dive.
The Aston was much faster than you, he made up a lot of time on you in one lap.
If you see something like that, just let him pass and follow him.
I think more than anything, I just wasnât expecting him to make the move there. Appreciate your thoughts!
Agreed he clearly had faster pace, the smart move to preserve your race was to give up the position when it was safe and to slot in behind him and continue to catch his draft. Hopefully using his draft to widening the gap with the cars behind you. Sorry your race was ruined mate. It happens.
Highly recommend adjusting those side view mirrors to view out wider, less behind.
Hey all the incidents you have are simply because you don't ever drive in a competitive race without a spotter app. Gotta get it my man. I watch all your content and enjoy it, keep up the great work. Go get a spotter....
Man I just found you channel when looking for the F-GT cockpit reviews, and I must say I am not nothing short of amazed by your storytelling and editing! I am hooked. Keep these videos coming!
Is there a reason you dont run a spotter? You keep talking about your blind spot, but a spotter would solve that.
I will now! Appreciate the comment :)
Simply put: An amazing video! I love what you do with your channel, both reviewing sim racing gear and sharing sim racing experiences like this. And the story-telling in this one is amazing. I really love the way the video ends. Regarding the first incident at Goodyear-Kehre (FKA Dunlop-Kehre): I would say it's your fault as the driver behind had limited mobility under braking while you were steering in. Of course you could argue that you didn't see him, but you have to be prepared for that, I'd just say your track awareness was bad in this instance.
Thanks for your comment! More soon, will keep on improving :)
Man these iracing videos are more chaotic than the assetto corsa community races
100%, I thought ACC crowd was bad, but this is another level of terrible đ
I thought that was impossible đ
do you have radar or crew chief to help with blind spot overlaps?
Looking into it now!
6:55 You really need to get a spotter if you can't judge when a car is next to you. Use the one from iRacing or CrewChief.
Iâll check it out đ
Iâd say to use DRE much better spotter
6:48 in game spotter says car right. at 3:49 spotter is even audible showing it is not muted, at 4:31 spotter says car right again. all events were avoidable.
A lot of guys saying that spin at 5:00 was your fault but I disagree: It's a bit of a racing incident that's maybe 70/30 the Aston's fault.
1. If the Aston was much faster out of the last corner, he wouldn't have only been able to stick a nose into the corner, he'd would've been almost side by side. Catching up with someone especially from behind doesn't mean the person has to move out of your way unless you've beaten them to the actual corner. He literally had no chance of passing Oscar at that corner unless he veered off the track or stayed on the outside and even then, what the hell was that line? If Oscar's not there, that a GARBAGE line he's taking that would lose him a few seconds for sure. Despite popular belief, it's also the overtaker's responsibility to overtake safely as well. I think the general rule is that if you get there first, it's your corner, getting into your slip stream and taking the ideal line behind tiy would've GUARANTEED him a pass on the next straight. It was an optimistic, impatient lunge that was 'either move out of my way, or we're crashing, your choice' that was shortsighted because it allows cars behind to also catch up while you wedge your way into a corner you had no chance of making with any reasonable amount of speed. Because if you're anywhere close to someone, all you have to do is brake a little later to try parking yourself on the apex and hope the other guy gets out of your way, and it isn't Oscar's responsibility to give him every opportunity to overtake.
2. ALL THAT SAID, you completely ignored your spotter who told you someone was to your right, and instead of deciding to take and outside line so that you're not taking the chance of the guy taking you out, you went for it anyway. Sometimes it's worth it to give up a position or stay on the outside and keep the pressure on him in case that dive loses him a bunch of time or he screws up the next corner. It doesn't make what the Aston did anymore unfair, but unfortunately LOTS of guys on open lobbies drive like this, without regard for safety and the attitude that it's everyone else's responsibility to make way for them just because they're closing in.
Long short: you should've listened to your spotter, but he had no shot at passing you and sticking his nose in the corner to prevent you from taking your line when you get their first was dangerous as hell. It's moments like these when no matter how much equipment we buy or how serious we are about simracing, guys are acutely aware they're playing a video game and will take those risks because they don't have to answer to an actual racing team who are providing a car that costs tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars that you wrecked because you thought you were faster than someone and they should've gotten out of your way. Safety is everyone's responsibility.
Few things to take away from this - Get a spotter it will help when you are getting tunnel vision on the racing lines and not the track.
Keep an eye on lap times of other drivers, if they are a fair bit ahead of you each lap consistently let them pass. Far better than being aggressive and ending both your races.
Its not about how you start its about how you finish, if you can race clean and get up into the other ranks these things happen less. But before all that you have to work on your race ethic and its about studying the nuances which will enable you to think more on track about the subtle things that count more than just being the fastest.
Those fast cuts synced to the music were sick, great vid as per
That last crash is what ive been experiencing these last two weeks after getting into D license =)
It's why I quit paying. Soon as you get alongside someone, they just turn into you and punt you off.
Nice little production... SUB worthy đ
ive been racing the gt4 series for the last 2 weeks and it feels like no one in that series knows how to drive not a single race has gone passed without someone spinning accross the track or slaming the brakes during the pace lap or lunging for overtakes on lines that will never make the corner. I started the week with an SR of 3.7 and Irating of 1.4k and im now sitting on an SR of 2.7 and Irainting in the 700s this series has frustrated the hell out of me
Sure you can get it back being so perfect and all
Great 2 videos you just put out great editing and you are hilarious, what monitors did you go for on this setup?
why!!!!!!!! btw love the production. Thank you for exost mate! Love it and love you â€
Listen to your spotter!
My instant reaction was that you should not have made that move and i stand by it to some sense, someone following that close is most likely going to take any space you leave open and you left plenty on the right until you closed it on entry. But he wasn't significantly along side you so im leaning towards to this being his fault more than yours regarding FIA rules. But still feel i would would have done what he did and since i was in your mirrors alot i would have expected you to know i was coming there, Ă even knew watching the video. . But that agressive driving does get me penalty's because of rules like this and it's honestly part of racing.
FYI, you are my absolute favorite SimRacing content creator, this is so good. Gj!
Hey OC! I have the choice to choose between the moza r5 bundle, or logitech pro or simforge pedals to pair with my g923. What should I pick?
Hey, awesome video, i like me some hard GT4 racing action. I think incidents were really just racing incidents with a little fault on both sides. I was wondering, the monitor you have up top that is facing down with data on it? What is that and how do we set that up? Thanks!
The top monitor is running a dash board on a program called SimHub. It essentially displays the track map, times, and other important info. If Iâm being completely honest, itâs mostly there to just look cool though đ
You've got the pace, now you need to work on your spacial awareness, except the last one you could have avoided all of the other accidents.
On the formation, lap be always prepared to break hard. Watch this one again, you see the guy tapping his brake and then you accelerate, and realistically that guy wouldn't tap his brakes for nothing so your alarm should have gone off and you should have been prepared to break hard.
Then the spin, while this was a bit of an opportunistic move from the other guys, you made this possible by leaving the door wide open. Your best bets, in that case, would have either to be on the inside line coming to the turn to block and then proceed to hold the apex and maybe actually being a bit slower through the corner forcing the other guy to brake and then accelerate and pull away (while not nice this is a legit tactic in racing) or maybe more cleanly stay on the outside and keep watching your mirrors if you seem him lunge, let him and then proceed to take the better line and overtake him on the straight with better exit speed (would be the most sensible thing to do in. the beginning of the race.
The next one is purely on you, you violated track limits, I agree that the punishment was too harsh, but you proceeded to serve it on the racing line blocking all the others, this is against the rules and can actually be protested, be careful with this. You did a good job of letting other cars pass, at first, but on the straight, you lost your spacial awareness, you should always know where are other cars around you, the blind spot is not an excuse, you should have known that he was there.
Nothing wrong with the accident at 8:30, you left enough room. However be mindful that the drivers in that split are far away from being pros, so sometimes giving a bit more room might be a safer option, but still, it is all on that guy who spun.
The last one is pure BS however and should be reported, the contacts during the chicane were imho ok for the last lap of hard racing. But this guy has an ego problem and couldn't handle being slower than you, so please report it, guys like him should be banished from racing, I bet this is not his first and not his last move like this, so better to report him and get rid of him sooner than later.
All in all your attitude is great though because instead of just raging on others you already ask yourself what YOU can do better and this is awesome and will give you great results :)
TLDR:
Last guy should be reported, all the other accidents could have been avoided with better special awareness.
I love the iracing videos keep em comming
i would say the first two incidents was less on you , expecting to be able to claim a corner by only sticky your bumper or less up the inside is always gonna be dangerous . ( although reading the coments i maybe be in the minority so always safest to give a lil more room ) nice edit :)
I'm jealous. Like how could someone I would surely wax the floor with, deserve such awesome sponsors who send him very expensive time-altering equipment? I'm not sure, but I am sure that what you do with it is something I REALLY like. These are some of THE VERY best sim racing videos available today.
Well, by starters, his videos are amazingly edited and thoughtfully narrated. You have crap in your channel
You were the cause for a lot of those incidents but the last one he probably thought it was a cheap move to dive into the second to last corner like that with a horrible line and you had to park it to make thr corner which made him park it and almost lose another spot
In connection with the Yield 1.5 seconds, Next time You can keep full pressing the gas pedal and At the same time small continuous press on brakes, it will lower the yield)
I donât play iRacing, Iâm some assetto freak who mostly drifts lol. But I really enjoy your content!
listen im not pro sim racer, im B Class 3.8 SR 1800 IR, but one just try this, try to be as safe as possible cause if you have to give up a position in iRacing 80% of the time you are gonna get it back cause idiots messing up and driving like this, and that last dude with the Porsche can just go F himself cause that is just stupid and he shouldn't have done any of that. But besides that just race don't let the SR and IR get to your head and have fun, the more you do that i feel the better you get, once you up there in A class and what not you can start grinding IR a lot more. Great Vids btw keep up the good work!!!!
4:50 this is the reason I use Racelaps radar because it shows you where they are
Will look into it, thanks :)
@@OCRacing also crew chief
Concerning the incident with the Aston:
In my opinion, if you are going for an overtake down the inside, you shouldnât do it as half-heartedly as that guy did since that is what leads to incidents like this
Because you couldnât see him in your mirrors anymore, you could have guessed where he was but thatâs in a split second
Only thing you did wrong was almost completely ruling an overtaking attempt out because you wouldnât do it at that place I think
To me itâs a racing incident, though the Aston is definitely more to blame
Oscar, I think you really should invest in a 4k camera, it would really make your channel even better than it is
Wow, it's one of the worst I've seen; it's disgraceful. Nice overtaking on your part. Too bad your race was ruined.
It is what it is đ€·ââïž we move.
You almost dont need the rear view camera if you have relative up in your black box. I use it in vee and the new 1600 car with no camera. never have a problem just used my 2 mirrors and relative
R.I.P Brother. That was painful...
You should make a review of the moza shifter that just came out
your'e using a thrustmaster rim with a moza wheelbase?
Nah, thereâs no shot he did that at that rating
Some of your racing wasn't the cleanest, but the last guy was a complete d-ck. It's part of why I only played iRacing for like a month, started making progress on my rating, had one race where a guy was being a wrecker, lost all my progress in 30 seconds it seemed. I play to have fun, I wasn't having fun online any longer.
It sucks but at the end of the day, we move. All about enjoying the process even though it certainly has its highs and lows.
How did you make the bessels dissapear that is sick
damn i should get a triple screen setup it looks dope. Vr made me sick. psvr on pc though no real hardware :D
i do think 1st one with aston is on you. your radio guy said 'car right' and you moved too the right under braking. crank your spotter voice since you've got blinds pots.
Yo bro just asking if the thrusmater t248 pedals work with a t300rs base
I believe they do
Shingo secret move actually work here
At 3:49 spotter is audible showing it is not muted, at 4:31 spotter says car right again. 6:48 in game spotter says car right. All events were avoidable. 5:33 more than 2 wheels off, maybe not a 2s advantage, but you wont do it again.
you did not give that aston room in the first shunt
Thanks for uploading all i want todo is race, my g29 broke :( big sad
is there a list of race games that support triple screens ?
What wheel base were you using for this race ? all I can see is that its a thrustmaster wheel and pedals
T818! I turned off the RGB lights lol
Brooo he did you DIRTY
Putting the the racing to one side, it's a refreshing way you edit and display your videos, keep the subtitles ,they add drama.đ
Thanks for the feedback!
Started off bad, I remember a guy that had some problems with his starts not too long ago.
đđ
What wheel base are you using here ?
That last guy needs to be banned. If that happened in a real race (except for Nascar where they seem to allow that crap) that guy would have not only been penalized for the race, but would have gotten a multi race suspension. No question.
You need the spotter on and the relative at a minimum
You definitely need to learn to be more weary of your surroundings but that probably only is due to stress, the last guy however, I wouldn't like to meet in person
iRacing needs to get rid of the incident point-based disqualification system.
Dang use that intro more it was fire đ„
Youre responsible for spacial awareness. If someone creeps up from behind and is beside you the least, you are responsible for not turning into them.
Similar shit happens to me. I payed a lot for tracks and in return one small mistake of following my line ends up in bad rating
If an other car is beside you, even only half of it, you have to make space for it, you *cannot* hold your line...
The last guy definitely thought he was playing forza
Whatâs the overlay you have up on your 4th screen?
A software called SimHub running some telemetry data đ
Bro I playing a race sim and I was in first then an idiot hit me made me spin and I went all the way to back
The starts sums it all. Too bad it happen too much in one video. Better luck next time OC.
Haha, yup. Thanks đ
Have you tried sending yr crash clips to Jimmy Broadbent as he does good assesments
Got my first iRacing win and OC Racing posted. COULD THIS DAY GET ANY BETTER
LETS GOOO
Wow, that was shocking at the end. 100% needs reporting. Ok, first incident was clumsy and your fault. Second one with the Aston was racing incident, more blame on the other guy though to be fair.
All in all, you need to focus on yourself. You could be so much faster than you are. From the footage I've seen here you are quite far off top split pace. You will get there, focus on removing the errors and getting on the optimal lines through corners.
Do some practice, then boot up VRS and compare your driving to the tutors lines and inputs. You will find seconds!!
Get up and out of these bottom end splits where these swamp creatures dwell.
I get that this wasnât the best race and some things could have been avoided, but when you are actually racing and are in the moment, you have to make split-second decisions and you sometimes take the wrong decision⊠when you are the viewer, you see what they did, you can pause the video, you can look from different viewpoints so it is easier said than done⊠but with more practice Iâm sure youâll get better and it is very hard being under pressure sometimes.
How can you go too fast on a race track can someone explain this please!?
I hate these people in iracing. Good vid oc!
Also I need that th8a
Best of luck đ«Ą
I mean you have triple screen setup so use it wisely đ
The first accident is typical for this turn
I'm a dirty driver because I'm a bad driver and fly off the track and get covered in dirt!! But seriously I just signed up for iRacing and just doing test laps until I feel confident to go race without doing demolition derby
I've actually been on a race track 100's of times đ
1st and 2nd incidents were more in you. You should report that guy at the end, you have the footage.
What kind of wheel base do you use?
What I use is linked in the video description. In this video Iâm using a T818 base
Hate that they show the track of the real Nurburgring when youâre actually racing the fake one
didnt go your way, love the iracing vid tho!
Send it, get that individual banned for a bit. That makes me so cross.
Bro turn up your spotter. No wonder you turned into the first guy lol
crew chief is a MUST have... Clare will help you out
Thatâs called a love tap.
I felt the love
First 2 were incidents, but ultimately your fault. 3rd was the other guy not holding his line. The last guy should be enjoying a nice long vacation right about now.
dude just use some addons alerting you where the cars are or listen to the spotter. You have all the screens, mirrors and still catch crashes that could have been prevented
First one was on you but like 70/30 bc the other guy was a bit agressive. Second one was the other guys fault. You established you were moving across and he didn't have a significant advantage. The third one was the aston understeering into you. Last one was pretty obvious.
Hello and have a nice weekend everyoneđ
Hello đ have a nice weekend as well :)
The fact you ended the video when you hit the wall speaks volumes.
Iâm gonna need you to elaborate lol
@OC Racing meaning it speaks volumes to how angry about it you were. Didn't have to say anything after just ended it. I picture alot of cussing went on. I know I would have.
@@kingkeif2406 LOL, no it was just for dramatic effect. My reaction will be in the next video đ
Your videos are amazing, but you really need to practice :D ! Most seriously, u should try to use any radar (racelab maybe). You need more information to appreciate the distance especially in the dead angles situations.
report the last guy... he deserves 2 weeks of rest
your move was legit at least in my view, you dived from half a car or so behind, so you didnt just come from a hole kilometer back and punt the guy whilst he was taking the corner. You overtook him fair and square, people think you did something wrong there because the guy ended up bumping you in the entry of the corner, that happened because that chicane in the Nurburgring GP layout is a pain in the ass just like Monza T1. The guy was a manus, thats that, the people who say "oh you shouldve been alongside the guy to make the move" their opinion is just wrong, I respect their opinion, altho I firmly believe theyre 1000% wrong, those people are against exciting racing, they want to see that boring ass racing the FIA introduced into F1
did u save the clip and report cuz that is a bannable offence
Hopefully, you protested the other driver. Clearly a hip check to send you to the grass.
bro really thought he was playing cop simulator
A car radar overlay in iracing would prevent so much misery, frustration and accidents. I know, not ârealisticâ. But it is simracing, where you do not have complete realistic view of your surrounding, specially drivers on single monitor.
Hey what class are you in iracing
I think C? Granted I race about 1-2 times a month lol
@@OCRacing how did u gain so much safety rating while always seems to be crashing đ
@@SG-ji7bti genuinely have zero idea
The contact before the straight feels like it was both players fault, even from the video I saw him going into your blind side and while yes you canât see you should have know subconsciously and left a bit more space tho thatâs in hindsight. I guess if it were me I would be blaming him too but when you look at the replay it seems like a different story. You get tunnel vision and only focus on the front when pros know the back is the most important thing to focus on cause you never know when theyll send it from a mile away and itâs better to lose the place than get spun out and loose more. The ending tho was just pure filth that guy definitely did it on purpose and I hope you reported him cause thatâs the kind of thing that ruins the game for everyone.
